SIM2 Multimedia is certified
HT500 LINK
HT500 LINK HT500 LINK
The HT500 LINK is SIM2's flagship DLPTM technology-based High-Definition projector, as well as the latest and most
innovative addition to the acclaimed and successful Grand Cinema HT line. Based on High Definition 3-chip DLP™
technoloogy, the HT500 LINK delivers remarkable colour fidelity, sharp details and superb picture quality on a big screen.
Also, it features the revolutionary SIM2 DigiOpticTM Image Processor, the remote processor box linked to the projector
through a thin fiber optic cable. And, the HT500 LINK has an elegant design whose smooth curves make it a high-class
focal point of any décor.
• 3-chip DLP™ projection system
DLP™ technology-enabled projectors for very high image quality or high brightness
applications such as cinema and large venue displays rely on a 3-DMD-chip
configuration to produce stunning images, whether moving or still. In a 3-chip
system, the white light generated by the lamp passes through a prism that divides
it into red, green and blue. Each DMD chip is dedicated to one of these three
colors; the colored light that each micromirror reflects is then combined and
passed through the projection lens to form a single pixel in the image.
• External DigiOptic™ Image processor with 12 inputs
SIM2's DigiOpticTM Image Processor, the remote processor box equipped with a wide choice of inputs and linked to the
projector through a thin fibre optic cable (3,5mm - 0,14" diameter).
• FIBRE OPTIC connection
With this innovative feature of using an external input/image processing box connected via fibre optics to the projector,
SIM2 has made installation and signal management an easy task. Video sources
are typically located far away from the projector and it is becoming very difficult to
run HD-compatible cables for long distances. With the HT500 LINK this issue no
longer exists. Based on a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS)
chip-set the optical link allows a fully digital source-to-display link, which is capable
of transmitting data over a distance in excess of 1600 ft, with 3 high-speed lasers
between the DigiOpticTM Image Processor and the projector for a loss-free and
interference-free signal.
• New Digital Inputs
Thanks to the new digital inputs on the DigiOpticTM Image Processor - HDMITM-
HDCP and DVI (or 1394 Firewire as an alternative) - the HT500 LINK is a truly
future-proof projector that allows complete digital connectivity to an increasing
amount of video sources.
• Upgradability
The innovative connectivity of the HT500 LINK through the external DigiOptic™
Image Processor allows the user to approach this moment of digital confusion
with ease. The DigiOptic™ Image Processor features new digital inputs and is
fully upgradable. This means that you will no longer have to worry about
changing the whole unit, but will only upgrade the external input/image
processor.
• Lenses
The HT500 LINK is available in a choice of 5 different lenses (throw ratio ranging
from 1.2-1.44:1 to 2.6 - 5.6:1).
innovation and exclusivity:
the new HT500 LINK projector
HT500 LINK HT500 LINK
The HT500 LINK projector uses optic fibre cabling to allow for one connection from SIM2's proprietary new DigiOpticTM
Image Processor to the projector. The rack-mountable DigiOpticTM Image Processor features a wide choice of inputs
(including HDMITM-HDCP) and can be connected through a single fibre optic cable, coupled with a system of three high-
speed laser beams, to the projector for a loss-free and interference free signal at a distance of up to 1600 feet away. The
thin fibre optic cable can be run through the wall and hidden easily for a seamless installation.
The advantages of a remotely-operated system are:
• a flexible installation
•an easily upgradable installation
•easy servicing
• no décor constraints
Inputs/outputs
2 x composite video via RCA connectors
2 x S-Video via mini Din-4 pin
2 x RGB via DB15 HD connector
3 x RGBH/V YCrCbH/V via RCA connectors

1 x RS232 on Dsub 9 pin connector
2 x jack 12V power output, active when the projector is ON
A display with remotely-operated functions should feature:
• a wideband connection (for high quality video signals)
• a bidirectional connection (for user interface)
• a security-proof connection (for encrypted data)
• an easy and safe connection (no emissions or possible signal losses)
• an updated & future-proof connection technology.
The DigiOptic™ Image Processor is the first and only product on the market with all of such features.
Fiber Optics vs Copper: main advantages
• Speed: Fiber optic networks operate at high speeds - up into gigabits
• Bandwidth: large carrying capacity
• Distance: Signals can be transmitted further without the need to be "refreshed" or strengthened.
• Resistance: Greater resistance to electromagnetic noise such as radios, motors or other nearby cables.
• Maintenance: Fiber optic cable has a lower maintenance costs
In addition to these already excellent advantages, SIM2’s fiber optics cable offers:
• Multimode Glass Optical Fiber: best fiber optic cable technology presently available
• LC transceiver and connector: the smallest and most reliable fiber optic connector available
• Two Versions: Standard & Installation for maximum flexibility of installation and minimum impact on interior decor
Key Features
• Maximum link lenght: 125m w/fiber optic 62,5/125 µm; 250m w/fiber optic 50/125 µm
• Link set-up time and recovery (after disconnecting): <5ms (in other words … at the speed of light)!
• Bulk section during installation: max. 5mm x 6,5 mm
