1. RemovebatterycompartmentcoveronbackofalarmunitandinstalltwoAAbatteries,LEDwilllight,steady.
2. Press“BatteryTest”button.Ifalarmdoesn’tsoundcheckbatteryconnectionandretest.
Ifalarmfailstosoundreplacebattery.
a.Thisalarmhasalowbatteryalertandanalarmwillsoundduringa“lowbatterycondition”.
3. Inserteithermodularconnectorormini-phonepluginthealarm(IllustrationA).Threadthewirethrough
the“CableStainRelief”cavityasshownin(IllustrationB)LEDwillash.Makesurethatthereissome
slacksothatifthecordistuggeditdoesn’tputpressureontheconnector.Alarmwillsound.
Press“Auto-Reset”buttontosilencealarm.
4. Beforeusing,testunitbypressingthepalmofyourhandrmlyagainstthesensorpad.
Whiledoingthis,checkalarmtomakecertainthatLEDisashing.Removeyourhand.
Alarmshouldsound.Press“Auto-Reset”buttontosilencealarm.Ifalarmfailstosound,
makecertainthetelephonetypeplugissecure.
5. SelectHighorLowalarmvolumeusingtheswitchonrightsideofalarm,andselectTone1or2
6. Whenalarmisactivatedbytheresidentleavingthewheelchair,itmaybesilencedbypressingthe
“Auto-Reset”button.Thealarmisnowinstand-bymode.Thesystemwillautomaticallygointothe
monitoringmodewhentheresidentisreseated.There is no on/off switch.

weak or fails to sound, replace the
twoAAbatteries.
2. Whenunitisinuse,checkLEDregularly.
Ifitisnotglowing,replacethetwoAAbatteries.

1. Removethesecond-from-topscrewfromeithertheleftorrightsideofthe
wheelchairbackrest(otherlocationsmaybechosenbythecaregiver).
2. Removegrommetfromscrew,placethescrewthroughholeonalarmunit
mountingbracket,andfastenscrew(withthegrommet)towheelchairbackrest(IllustrationC).

Alarm Conditions
Note: The alarm will not sound when the sensor pad wire (grey) is cut or accidentally pulled out
unless it is activated. Also, when the sensor is activated by a resident sitting on it and the plug is
accidentally pulled out it will ring but when re-inserted, the alarm will stop ringing. All of the
conditions above apply either to the telephone type plug or mini-plug. The alarm sounds only when
the mini-plug (black) is removed while sensor is activated. It will not ring when this wire is cut.

1. Removethesecond-fromtopscrewfromeithertheleftor
rightsideofthewheelchairbackrest.
2.Removegrommetfromscrew.Placescrewthrougheyelet
on Velcro®tab.Fastenscrewtowheelchairbackrest.
Make certain that “Hook” side faces away from the wheelchair
(IllustrationF).
3.RemovebackingfromVelcro®stripwith“Loop”material.Secure
adhesivetobackofalarmunit,abovebatterycompartmentcover
(IllustrationG).
4. Attach alarm unit to Velcro®tab(IllustrationH).
CAUTION
1. The MultiPro Sensor Pad Alarm is not a substitute for proper
supervision.Fall-riskresidents/patientsshouldbemonitoredregularly.
2.Checkbatteryeachtimealarmisused.Ifweak,replacethetwoAAbatteries.
3.LEDshouldashwhenpatient/residentisseatedonthesensorpad.IfLEDfailstoash,checkbattery.
Replaceifnecessary.IfLEDdoesnotglowafterbatteryisreplaced,checksensorpad.Replaceifnecessary.
4.Ifpatient/residentisseatedonawheelchaircushion,placesensorpadontopofcushion.Thissystemmaynotwork
ifsensorisplacedbeneathcushion.
1. RemovebackingfromenclosedloopmaterialVelcro®strip.
Secureadhesivetobackofalarmunitabovebattery
compartmentcover(IllustrationI).
2. RemovebackingfromenclosedhookmaterialVelcro®strip.
Secureadhesivetothesideoftheheadboardthatfacesthe
wall (Illustration J) Mount unit to headboard by pressing Velcro®
loop material on unit against hook material on headboard
(IllustrationK).
Note: If you plan to connect the MultiPro Alarm unit to your facility’s
nurse-call system, you will require the MultiPro Nurse-Call Connector Kit #909560.
This kit includes a nurse-call cable and a Y-adaptor (see instructions below)
and is available from the dealer from whom you purchased the alarm.
1. Insert one end of the nurse-call connector cable into the alarm unit receptacle labeled
“Nurse-CallConnection.”(IllustrationL)
2.Removethenurse-callbuttoncablefromthewalloutletandinserttheY-adaptor(IllustrationM)
Thisadaptorpermitsyoutoconnectboththealarmsystemandthepatient’scallbuttoncabletothe
nurse-callsystem.
3. Insert both the nurse-call connector cable from the alarm and the call-button
cableintotheY-adaptor.(IllustrationN)
4. Test system before use by:
a.Pressingnurse-callbuttontomakecertainsignalisreceivedatthenurses’station,and
b. Pressing the “Battery-Test” button on the alarm unit to make certain that
thealarmsignalisreceivedatthenurses’station.
The MultiPro alarm will not interfere with your patient’s regular use of the nurse-call button.
