Rutenbeck NV 2 TC User manual

Connection
The NV 2 TC has to be instal-
led in dry rooms with tempera-
tures between -5°C to 45°C.
The installation must be car-
ried out professionally.
Please note:
Caution when installing the
accumulators to prevent fire
caused by short-circuits or
alkali burns through leaking
ingredients.
Hints for the end user
Used accumulators can be
returned to the retailer, where
the NV 2 TC was purchased,
or to the pollutant depot of
your community. The ac-
cumulators will be recycled
according to the „Recycling
management law“ and „Waste
management law“ and dispo-
sed in an environment-friendly
way.
The customers are legally ob-
ligated to return the accumu-
lators. It is forbidden to throw
the accumulators away.
The sign „ “ indicates that the
accumulators are not allowed
to be thrown away, but in-
stead have to be returned.
The sign „Pb“ points out that
the accumulator contains the
harmful substance lead.
To open the NV 2 TC, unlock
the cover, hold the cover with
both hands in the upper area,
tilt the cover to the front and
lift it up (see picture 1, left).
The base plate is installed
with at least three attachment
points on the wall. It is also
possible to use two more
attachment points, if required
(see picture 2,A). For the
installation use appropriate
screws and dowels.
For connection of the cables
(see section „Installation“), re-
move the head pieces. Fix the
cables at the provided bra-
ckets of the base plate and
connect the wires.
For the connection of a TC
and the power supply see
picture 3.
The terminals L1 and N are
connected to the 230-V-
supply. The ground wire is
connected to terminal PE.
The appropriate TC is con-
nected with the NV 2 TC as
shown in picture 3. The termi-
nals + and – are for the sup-
ply unit of the TC and the NA
for the output „power failure“.
The plug power supply of the
TC is not needed.
Now install the accumulator(s)
according to the instructions
below.
After installation, cut the ca-
ble entry of the head pieces
according to the size of the
entered cable out.
Afterwards, plug the upper
and lower head pieces onto
the base plate.
Finally, insert the cover with
opened latch in the guide slot
of the base plate and then
push them up (see picture 1,
right). After closing the NV 2
TC, is ready-to-operate.
Plug the flat receptacles with
correct polarity (red on plus)
on the flat plugs of the ac-
cumulator and position the
accumulator with the flat plugs
to the right side. If the upper
platform is used for a second
accumulator, position this
accumulator with the flat plugs
to the left side (picture 2 C).
Please note when using two
accumulators (2. accumula-
tors available under the article
number 241008) that both
accumulators must have the
same state of discharge duri-
ng the connection. Otherwise,
the fuses Si1 and Si2 could
be blown. If uncertain, charge
each accumulator separately
(at least three hours).
Hints Installation Installation of the accumu-
lators

The NV 2 TC keeps the Te-
lecontrol devices TC, TC EIB
and TC Alarm as well as the
designs for mounting on a
DIN-rail (TCR and TCR Alarm)
functioning during a power fai-
lure (see chart on page 6).
The buffering time is reduced
with activated outputs and
depends mainly on the relays
being used.
With the installation of a se-
cond accumulator, the buffe-
ring time doubles.
A power failure will be noti-
fied after approximately 15
minutes by a switching output
(NA). This message can be
passed on from the TC to the
telecommunication system, if
required.
It is also possible to draw up
to 500 mA current from the
NV 2 TC (for instance: exter-
nal alarm sensors). However,
the current being used for
feeding external sensors will
reduce the buffering time for
the TC.
To lock the NV 2 TC-housing,
you can exchange the catch
with a safety lock, available
under the article number 690
324.
Together with the safety lock
a micro switch is delivered
to mount on the upper head
piece of the housing (picture
2,B). The switch can be inte-
grated in a sabotage line of
an alarm system or if desired
to one of the alarm inputs of
the TC.
