2 Safety
2.1 Intended Use
The SunnyBoy is a transformerless PV inverter with two MPP trackers which converts the direct
current of the PV array to grid-compliant alternating current and feeds it into the utility grid.
The product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The product must only be operated with PV arrays of protection class II in accordance with
IEC61730, application class A. The PV modules must be compatible with this product.
The product is not equipped with a transformer and therefore has no galvanic isolation. The
product must not be operated with PV modules whose outputs are grounded. This can cause the
product to be destroyed. The product may be operated with PV modules whose frame is grounded.
PV modules with a high capacity to ground must only be used if their coupling capacity does not
exceed 1.4μF (for information on how to calculate the coupling capacity, see the Technical
Information "Leading Leakage Currents" at www.SMA-Solar.com).
All components must remain within their permitted operating ranges and their installation
requirements at all times.
The product must only be used in countries for which it is approved or released by SMA Solar
Technology AG and the grid operator.
Use this product only in accordance with the information provided in the enclosed documentation
and with the locally applicable standards and directives. Any other application may cause
personal injury or property damage.
Alterations to the product, e.g. changes or modifications, are only permitted with the express written
permission of SMA Solar Technology AG. Unauthorized alterations will void guarantee and
warranty claims and in most cases terminate the operating license. SMA Solar Technology AG
shall not be held liable for any damage caused by such changes.
Any use of the product other than that described in the Intended Use section does not qualify as the
intended use.
The enclosed documentation is an integral part of this product. Keep the documentation in a
convenient place for future reference and observe all instructions contained therein.
The type label must remain permanently attached to the product.

To prevent personal injury and property damage and to ensure long-term operation of the product,
read this section carefully and observe all safety information at all times.
DANGER
Danger to life due to high voltages of the PV array
When exposed to light, the PV array generates dangerous DC voltage, which is present in the
DC conductors and the live components of the inverter. Touching the DC conductors or the live
components can lead to lethal electric shocks. If you disconnect the DC connectors from the
inverter under load, an electric arc may occur leading to electric shock and burns.
• Do not touch non-insulated cable ends.
• Do not touch the DC conductors.
• Do not touch any live components of the inverter.
• Have the inverter mounted, installed and commissioned only by qualified persons with the
appropriate skills.
• If an error occurs, have it rectified by qualified persons only.
• Prior to performing any work on the inverter, disconnect it from all voltage sources as
described in this document.
DANGER
Danger to life due to high voltages in the inverter
Touching live components within the inverter can lead to lethal electric shocks. Some components
also require at least five minutes to discharge after the inverter has been disconnected from
voltage sources.
• Do not open the inverter.
DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock from touching an ungrounded PV module
or array frame
Touching ungrounded PV modules or array frames results in death or lethal injuries due to electric
shock.
• Connect and ground the frame of the PV modules, the array frame and the electrically
conductive surfaces so that there is continuous conduction. Observe the applicable local
regulations.

DANGER
Danger to life due to electric shock in case of a ground fault
If a ground fault occurs, parts of the system may still be live. Touching live parts and cables
results in death or lethal injuries due to electric shock.
• Disconnect the product from voltage sources and make sure it cannot be reconnected
before working on the device.
• Touch the cables of the PV array on the insulation only.
• Do not touch any parts of the substructure or frame of the PV array.
• Do not connect PV strings with ground faults to the inverter.
CAUTION
Risk of burns due to hot enclosure parts
Some parts of the enclosure can get hot during operation.
• During operation, do not touch any parts other than the enclosure lid of the inverter.
NOTICE
Damage due to cleaning agents
The use of cleaning agents may cause damage to the product and its components.
• Clean the product and all its components only with a cloth moistened with clear water.

2 Sicherheit
2.1 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Sunny Boy ist ein transformatorloser PV-Wechselrichter mit 2MPP-Trackern, der den
Gleichstrom des PV-Generators in netzkonformen Wechselstrom wandelt und den Wechselstrom in
das öffentliche Stromnetz einspeist.
Das Produkt ist für den Einsatz im Außenbereich und Innenbereich geeignet.
Das Produkt darf nur mit PV-Generatoren der SchutzklasseII nach IEC61730,
AnwendungsklasseA betrieben werden. Die verwendeten PV-Module müssen sich für den Einsatz
mit diesem Produkt eignen.
Das Produkt hat keinen Transformator und verfügt somit nicht über eine galvanische Trennung. Das
Produkt darf nicht mit PV-Modulen betrieben werden, deren Ausgänge geerdet sind. Dadurch kann
das Produkt zerstört werden. Das Produkt darf mit PV-Modulen betrieben werden, deren Rahmen
geerdet ist.
PV-Module mit großer Kapazität gegen Erde dürfen nur eingesetzt werden, wenn deren
Koppelkapazität 1,4 μF nicht übersteigt (Informationen zur Berechnung der Koppelkapazität siehe
Technische Information "Kapazitive Ableitströme" unter www.SMA-Solar.com).
Der erlaubte Betriebsbereich und die Installationsanforderungen aller Komponenten müssen
jederzeit eingehalten werden.
Das Produkt darf nur in Ländern eingesetzt werden, für die es zugelassen oder für die es durch
SMA Solar Technology AG und den Netzbetreiber freigegeben ist.
Setzen Sie das Produkt ausschließlich nach den Angaben der beigefügten Dokumentationen und
gemäß der vor Ort gültigen Normen und Richtlinien ein. Ein anderer Einsatz kann zu Personen-
oder Sachschäden führen.
Eingriffe in das Produkt, z. B. Veränderungen und Umbauten, sind nur mit ausdrücklicher
schriftlicher Genehmigung von SMA Solar Technology AG gestattet. Nicht autorisierte Eingriffe

2.2 Sicherheitshinweise
Dieses Kapitel beinhaltet Sicherheitshinweise, die bei allen Arbeiten an und mit dem Produkt immer
beachtet werden müssen.
Um Personen- und Sachschäden zu vermeiden und einen dauerhaften Betrieb des Produkts zu
gewährleisten, lesen Sie dieses Kapitel aufmerksam und befolgen Sie zu jedem Zeitpunkt alle
Sicherheitshinweise.
GEFAHR
Lebensgefahr durch hohe Spannungen des PV-Generators
Der PV-Generator erzeugt bei Lichteinfall gefährliche Gleichspannung, die an den DC-Leitern und
spannungsführenden Bauteilen des Wechselrichters anliegt. Das Berühren der DC-Leiter oder der
spannungsführenden Bauteile kann lebensgefährliche Stromschläge verursachen. Wenn Sie die
DC-Steckverbinder unter Last vom Wechselrichter trennen, kann ein Lichtbogen entstehen, der
einen Stromschlag und Verbrennungen verursacht.
• Keine freiliegenden Kabelenden berühren.
• Die DC-Leiter nicht berühren.
• Keine spannungsführenden Bauteile des Wechselrichters berühren.
• Den Wechselrichter ausschließlich von Fachkräften mit entsprechender Qualifikation
montieren, installieren und in Betrieb nehmen lassen.
• Wenn ein Fehler auftritt, den Fehler ausschließlich von Fachkräften beheben lassen.
• Vor allen Arbeiten am Wechselrichter den Wechselrichter immer wie in diesem Dokument
beschrieben spannungsfrei schalten.
GEFAHR
Lebensgefahr durch hohe Spannungen im Wechselrichter
Das Berühren von spannungsführenden Bauteilen im Inneren des Wechselrichters kann
lebensgefährliche Stromschläge verursachen. Einige Bauteile benötigen auch nach dem
Freischalten des Wechselrichters mindestens 5Minuten zum Entladen.
• Den Wechselrichter nicht öffnen.

GEFAHR
Lebensgefahr durch Stromschlag beim Berühren eines nicht geerdeten PV-
Moduls oder Generatorgestells
Das Berühren eines nicht geerdeten PV-Moduls oder Generatorgestells führt zum Tod oder zu
lebensgefährlichen Verletzungen durch Stromschlag.
• Den Rahmen der PV-Module, das Generatorgestell und elektrisch leitende Flächen
durchgängig leitend verbinden und erden. Dabei die vor Ort gültigen Vorschriften
beachten.
GEFAHR
Lebensgefahr durch Stromschlag bei einem Erdschluss
Bei einem Erdschluss können Anlagenteile unter Spannung stehen. Das Berühren
spannungsführender Teile oder Kabel führt zum Tod oder zu lebensgefährlichen Verletzungen
durch Stromschlag.
• Vor Arbeiten das Produkt spannungsfrei schalten und gegen Wiedereinschalten sichern.
• Die Kabel des PV-Generators nur an der Isolierung anfassen.
• Teile der Unterkonstruktion und Gestell des PV-Generators nicht anfassen.
• Keine PV-Strings mit Erdschluss an den Wechselrichter anschließen.
VORSICHT
Verbrennungsgefahr durch heiße Gehäuseteile
Gehäuseteile können während des Betriebs heiß werden.
• Während des Betriebs nur den Gehäusedeckel des Wechselrichters berühren.
ACHTUNG
Beschädigung durch Reinigungsmittel
Durch die Verwendung von Reinigungsmitteln können das Produkt und Teile des Produkts
beschädigt werden.
• Das Produkt und alle Teile des Produkts ausschließlich mit einem mit klarem Wasser
befeuchteten Tuch reinigen.

2 Безопасност
2.1 Коректна експлоатация
SunnyBoy е безтрансформаторен фотоволтаичен инвертор с 2MPP тракера, който
преобразува постоянния ток на фотоволтаичния генератор в подходящ за мрежата трифазен
променлив ток и подава този трифазен променлив ток към обществената електрическа
мрежа.
Продуктът е подходящ за използване на открито и закрито.
Продуктът трябва да се захранва само с фотоволтаични генератори от защитен класII
според IEC61730, клас на приложениеА. Използваните фотоволтаични модули трябва да
са подходящи за употреба с този продукт.
Продуктът няма трансформатор и поради това няма галванично разделяне. Продуктът не
трябва да се използва с фотоволтаични модули, чиито изходи са заземени. Това може да
доведе до повреда на продукта. Продуктът трябва да се използва с фотоволтаични модули,
чиято рамка е заземена.
Фотоволтаични модули с по-голям капацитет на заземяване трябва да се използват само ако
взаимният им капацитет не надхвърля 1,4 μF (информация за изчисляване на взаимния
капаците, вж. в „Техническа информация“ "Leading Leakage Currents", www.SMA-Solar.com).
Допустимият работен обхват и изискванията за инсталиране на компонентите трябва винаги
да бъде спазвани.
Продуктът трябва да бъде използван само в страни, за които това е разрешено и за които
SMASolarTechnologyAG и операторът на разпределителната мрежа позволяват.
Настройте продукта изключително съобразно информацията от приложената документация
и съгласно местните разпоредби и норми. Употреба, различна от указаната, може да
доведе до нараняване на хора или материални щети.

ОПАСНОСТ
Опасност за живота поради високото напрежение на фотоволтаичните
генератори
При падане на светлина фотоволтаичният генератор произвежда опасно постоянно
напрежение, което се прилага към проводниците за постоянен ток и захранващите
компоненти на инвертора. При докосване на DC проводник или на токопроводящи
детайли съществува опасност от токов удар, който може да доведе до смърт. Ако
отделите DC свързващия щепсел под напрежение от инвертора, това може да породи
волтова дъга, която да причини токов удар или изгаряния.
• Не докосвайте свободни краища на кабели.
• Не докосвайте проводник за постоянен ток.
• Не докосвайте токопроводящите компоненти на инвертора.
• Инверторът трябва да се монтира, инсталира и пуска в експлоатация само от
квалифицирани специалисти.
• Грешките трябва да се отстраняват само от квалифициран персонал.
• Преди всяка дейност по инвертора изключвайте инвертора от електрическата мрежа
по начина, описан в този документ.
ОПАСНОСТ
Опасност за живота заради високо напрежение в инвертора
Докосването на захранващи компоненти във вътрешността на инвертора може да доведе
до животозастрашаващи токови удари. След включването на инвертора някои
компоненти изискват поне 5 минути за разреждане.
• Не отваряйте инвертора.
