CAUTION: Failure to read and observe all precautions could result in equipment damage.
GENERAL CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
• Do not drop the scale; take care not to drop items onto the scale.
• Do not use the unit if it has any damaged parts or if the top is cracked.
• If any abnormality occurs, discontinue use until the unit has been examined and
repaired.
• Do not disassemble the unit or attempt to repair it; doing so may result in results error
and will void manufacturer warranty.
• Always follow local regulations for proper disposal of the digital scale and batteries.
OPERATING CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
• Operation outside of stated operating temperature may result in measurement error
or device malfunction; operation environment temperature is: 50°F – 104°F (10°C –
40°C); Humidity: ≤85%RH max.
• Read and follow the Instructions For Use section of this manual for safe use of this
device.
STORAGE CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
• Storage outside of stated storage temperature may result in measurement error or
device malfunction; storage environment temperature is: 14°F – 140°F (-10°C – 60°C);
Humidity: 20-90%RH max.
• Avoid storage near water, moisture or excessive humidity.
• Avoid storage in extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, dust or salt air.
• Keep out of the reach of infants, children or incapacitated persons.
CLEANING CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS
• Never immerse the unit in water to clean as it may damage the unit.
• Follow the ‘Cleaning and Maintenance’ portion of this manual for instruction on how to
clean and care for your scale.

Thank you for purchasing a SmartHeart Digital Kitchen Scale. Please read
this instruction manual completely before using your unit to ensure safe
and effective use, as well as long life of the product.

USER MUST REMOVE THE PLASTIC WRAP FROM PREINSTALLED BATTERIES
BEFORE FIRST USE. FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR ACCESSING AND
REPLACING BATTERIES.
This unit includes 2 AAA batteries.
The battery compartment should be accessed when the
scale is face down on a at surface.
It is necessary to replace the batteries when the display
does not turn on or the digital image fades.
1. Carefully open the battery compartment.
2. Insert or replace 2 AAA batteries into the battery
compartment following the indicated polarity.
Always use new batteries.
3. Replace the battery cover.
4. Dispose of batteries according to local disposal and recycling regulations.
It is recommended to remove the batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period
of time.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
DIRECT ITEM WEIGHT:
1. Press POWER/TARE to turn the scale ON.
2. The display will show ‘0’ (weight of zero); press ‘UNIT’ to select the desired measure-
ment mode:
– oz (ounces), lbs (pounds), g (grams), ml (milliliters).
3. Add your item to be weighed onto the scale.
4. In moments, the scale will show the weight of the object; take care not to touch the food
being weighed or otherwise touch the scale during measurement.
5. Press and hold POWER/TARE to turn off; the scale will automatically turn off after 120
seconds of non-use.
TARE WEIGHT / WEIGHT OF FOOD IN BOWL/DISH:
Tare feature allows you to weigh dry or liquid foods in a bowl or dish to determine the
weight of the food only.
1. Press POWER/TARE to turn the scale ON.
2. The display will show ‘0’ (weight of zero); press ‘UNIT’ to select the desired measure-
ment mode:
– oz (ounces), lbs (pounds), g (grams), ml (milliliters).
3. Add the EMPTY bowl or dish onto the scale; allow the dish’s weight to appear on the
screen; press TARE to reset the reading to ZERO.
4. Add the food to be weighed to the container.
5. In moments, the scale will show the weight of the food, not including the weight of the
bowl or dish container.
6. Press and hold POWER/TARE to turn off; the scale will automatically turn off after 120
seconds of non-use.
Convenient Wall Hanger
This scale includes a retractable wall hanger on the
underside of the unit, intended for hanging on the wall of
the kitchen or wherever convenient when not in use.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
Use common sense caution when cleaning an electronic device.
• The scale may be dusted with a soft cloth, or wiped down with a damp cloth.
• Always dry the scale top after cleaning.
• Never get excessively wet or submerge the scale in water.
• Never use propellant, abrasive or other chemicals on the scale.
• Do not disassemble this device; doing so may void the manufacturer’s warranty.
• Follow the Operating and Storage Temperature ranges as indicated in the Specications
section of this manual.
• Follow the indicated weight range capacity; weight in excess of the stated range may
damage the unit.
• It is recommended that the batteries be removed if the scale will not be used for an
extended period of time.

TWO-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Congratulations on your purchase of a Digital Food Scale. Your Digital Food Scale is covered
by the following limited warranty commencing upon the date of purchase, and subject to the
following terms and conditions:
The Warrantor warrants that its Digital Food Scale will be free from defects in materials and
workmanship under normal consumer usage for a period of two years for the original purchas-
er of the product.
Periodic maintenance, repair and replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear are
excluded from coverage. Defects or damage that result from: (a) improper operation, storage,
misuse or abuse, accident or neglect, such as physical damage (cracks, scratches, etc.) to the
surface of the product resulting from misuse; (b) contact with liquid, water, rain, extreme hu-
midity or heavy perspiration, sand, dirt or the like, extreme heat, or food; (c) use of the Weight
Scale for commercial purposes or subjecting the Weight Scale to abnormal usage or condi-
tions; or (d) other acts which are not the fault of the Warrantor, are excluded from coverage.
This warranty does not cover batteries or other power sources that may be provided with, or
used with the Digital Food Scale.
If the Weight Scale fails to conform to this limited warranty, return the Weight Scale postage
prepaid to: Attn: Repair Department, 1175 Lakeside Drive, Gurnee, IL, 60031.
When returning a product, please also include: (i) a copy of your receipt, bill of sale or other
comparable proof of purchase; (ii) a written description of the problem; and (iii) your name,
address and telephone number. Carefully package the product to avoid any damage that may
occur while in transit; shipping insurance with returned receipt is recommended. At our option,
the Warrantor will repair or replace the unit found to be defective in materials or workman-
ship under normal consumer usage. The purchaser will be notied of any additional repairs
required prior to completing the repair, and will be responsible for parts charges, if any, and
repair charges not covered by this limited warranty.
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED FOR IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, ALL EXPRESS AND IMPLIED
WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS ARE DISCLAIMED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION
THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE. THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY
IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY OF THE CONSUMER, AND IS PROVIDED IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER

EL USUARIO DEBE RETIRAR LA ENVOLTURA DE PLÁSTICO DE LAS BATERÍAS
PREINSTALADAS ANTES DEL PRIMER USO. SIGA ESTAS INSTRUCCIONES PARA
ACCEDER Y REEMPLAZAR LAS BATERÍAS.
Esta unidad incluye 2 baterías AAA
preinstaladas.
Se debe abrir el compartimento de la batería cuando la
balanza este boca abajo en una supercie plana.
Es necesario reemplazar las baterías cuando el visor no
se enciende o la imagen digital desaparece.
1. Deslice con cuidado hacia afuera el compartimento
de la batería.
2. Inserte o reemplace 2 baterías AAA en el
compartimiento de la batería siguiendo la polaridad
indicada. Siempre use pilas nuevas.
3. Cierre la tapa de la batería.
4. Deseche las baterías de conformidad con las normas locales de desecho y reciclaje.
Se recomienda retirar las baterías si no usará la unidad durante un período prolongado.

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO
PESO DIRECTO DEL OBJETO:
1. Presione el botón POWER [Encendido/Apagado]/TARE [Tara] para ENCENDER la
balanza.
2. El visor mostrará un ‘0’ (peso cero); presione ‘UNIT’ [UNIDAD] para seleccionar el
modo de medición que desea:
- oz (onzas), lbs (libras), g (gramos), ml (mililitros)
3. Coloque lo que va a pesar en la balanza.
4. En unos segundos, la balanza mostrará el peso del objeto. Tenga cuidado de no tocar
el alimento cuando lo está pesando o de tocar la balanza durante la medición.
5. Presione y sostenga POWER / TARE para apagar; la báscula se apagará automática-
mente después de 120 segundos de inactividad.
PESO DE TARA / PESO DEL ALIMENTO EN UN BOL(TAZÓN)/PLATO:
La función de la tara le permite pesar alimentos secos o líquidos en un bol(tazón) o plato
para determinar el peso de del alimento solamente.

5. En unos segundos, la balanza mostrará el peso del alimento, sin incluir el peso del
envase bol(tazón) o del plato.
6. Presione y sostenga POWER / TARE para apagar; la báscula se apagará automática-
mente después de 120 segundos de inactividad.
Conveniente colgador de pared
Esta báscula incluye un colgador de pared retráctil en la

producción bajo uso normal por un período de dos años. Esta garantía cubre solamente
uso normal, y no se aplica para utilizar en ningunas aplicaciones clínicas o comerciales. Se
anula esta garantía si la unidad se emplea mal o se abusa de cualquier manera.

no puede ajustarse a esta garantía limitada, vuelva el franqueo

pagado por adelantado a: Attn: Repair Department, 1175
Lakeside Drive, Gurnee, IL, 60031. Cuando devuelva un producto, por favor incluya además:
(i) una copia de su recibo, factura u otro comprobante de compra; (ii) una descripción por
escrito del problema; y (iii) su nombre, dirección y número telefónico. Embale cuidadosamente
el producto para evitar daños mientras está en tránsito; se recomienda contratar un seguro de
envío con acuse de recibo. Según lo que elija, el warrantor reparará o reemplazará la unidad
que se considere defectuosa en materiales o mano de obra bajo el uso normal del consumidor.
Al comprador se le noticará cualquier reparación adicional requerida antes de completar la
reparación, y será responsable de pagar el cargo por las piezas, si lo hubiese, y los cargos de
reparación que no estén cubiertos por esta garantía limitada.
