Carriage user manual
You ave just purc ased a
XENON anc orage device
and we t ank you for your trust. To
be sure t is product is to your full
satisfaction, for eac use, please
follow t e instructions given in t e
manual.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE
XENON LIFELINE
T e lengt between two structural
anc ors is included between 2m
and 12 m. T e Xenon lifeline can
be used simultaneously by a
maximum of 4 people. Because all
t e installations are different, refer
to t e indications of t e
identification plate attac ed near
t e lifeline to see ow many users
can employ it simultaneously, and
establis t e minimum clearance
for eac installation. C eck t e
compatibility of t e fall arrest
system wit t e minimum
clearance. T e Xenon lifeline is in
conformity wit EN 795 Class C.
T e line intermediate structural
anc ors are designed to tolerate
15 kN force, and t e terminal
structural anc ors to tolerate 19
kN force for an 8 mm diameter
cable and 24 kN for a 10 mm
diameter cable. Depending on t e
type of support (concrete, metal
structure or ot er), it will be
necessary to validate wit t e
owner or an approved organization
t e installation to ensure it
matc es t e given forces.
Preferably, t e lifeline s ould
be placed above t e position of t e
user.
User instructions
Before eac use, c eck t e lifeline
for general condition and in
particular, make sure t at t e pre-
tension indicator (green) is clearly
visible and t at t e fall indicator
as not been activated (yellow
indicator visible). If t ere is any
doubt about its condition, ave t e
Xenon lifeline c ecked by a
competent person and replace any
parts considered to be defective.
Any fall or mec anical overload
triggering t e fall indicator of t e
absorber means t at t e
installation must be c ecked and
any part affected, and t e
absorber, must be replaced.
T e Xenon lifeline carriage is
designed for use in combination
wit ot er individual fall arrest
systems in conformity wit EN 363
(e.g. energy absorber in
conformity wit EN 355 + arness
conforming to EN 361). T erefore,
any person working near a drop
must take all necessary steps to
keep t e connecting part to t e
lifeline as s ort as possible so as
to minimize t e eig t of free fall,
in accordance wit t e minimum
clearance needed.
T e Xenon carriage is a device
forming part of t e personal
protection equipment and must
t erefore not be left permanently
on t e installation. C eck t e
performance of t e carriage before
eac use, in particular wit regard
to its locking on t e cable.

ave serious repercussions. We
advise you to reread t ese
instructions periodically. T ey
s ould be kept wit t e product. In
addition, t e manufacturer and is

t e event of use, storage or

Before use, it is essential to make

attribute personally t e PEP to one
and t e same user. Make sure t at
t e device you ave just acquired
is compatible wit t e
recommendations of t e ot er
components in t e fall arrest
system. During use, protect your
PEP against any risks related to
t e working environment: t ermal,
electrical or mec anical s ock,
protection of acid, etc.
Activities at a eig t are
dangerous disciplines w ic can
cause accidents and serious
injuries. Always remember t at
you are personally responsible in
t e event of an accident, injury or
deat during or subsequent to t e
use of our products, concerning
yourself or a t ird party. T e use
of our product under t e
supervision and instruction of a
competent and experienced
person is t e best apprentices ip.
Learn about ow to use t is
opening carriage and make sure
you ave understood its operation
entirely. In case of doubt, do not
take risks. Get t e information you
need! Good p ysical condition is
mandatory to carry out works at a
eig t.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATION
If you ave any doubts about t e safety
of a product, or if it as been used to
arrest a fall, for your own safety, it is
essential to wit draw it from service and
return it to t e manufacturer or to a
qualified c ecking center for
maintenance. Never attempt to modify
or repair yourself any part of t e lifeline;
t e manufacturer or an approved
center are alone qualified to perform
suc repairs. Be sure to fill out and
keep t e opening carriage periodic
c ecking follow-up s eet.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Correct maintenance and suitable
storage of your Xenon carriage will
ensure t e longevity of t e product
w ile guaranteeing your safety. Be
sure to comply wit t ese
recommendations to t e letter:
·Clean in water wit a mild soap.

Connect your arrest system to t e
Xenon carriage mobile andle.
Make sure t at t e carabiner is
closed and locked (see carabiner
manual).
Take t e carriage in t e palm of t e and,
press t e release button wit t e t umb
and simultaneously press on t e back of
t e carriage. Do not pull on t e andle
because it will cause t e carriage to close
again.
T e carriage will open a
few millimeters to allow
t e cable to be inserted.
Place t e carriage over
t e cable.
Release t e carriage. It will close
automatically on t e cable. T e
andle will be in t e free position
permitting work 180° eit er side
of t e lifeline.

away from any direct flame or
any ot er source of eat. Avoid
corrosive, dusty, over eated or
refrigerated atmosp eres.
TRANSPORT
During transport, make sure t e
open carriage is stored away from
any corrosive atmosp ere,
mec anical s ock, etc.
