TURNING THE PRODUCT ON AND OFF
Slide the switch at the back to the ON position. The turning knob and the red LED next to it will
then light up. To turn off, slide the switch back to the OFF position. If you are only turning off the
product for a short time, you can also use the remote control.
• If you previously played MP3 tracks, then playback will start with the last active track.
• If both a USB stick and an SD card is connected at the same time, then playback will resume
from the USB device, even if you were last listening to the SD card’s tracks or the FM re-
ceiver.
• When you turn on the player, it remembers the last volume level.
• If MP3 playback begins after turning on the player, then the factory default NORMAL equalizer
settings and repeat mode will be active. (Normal / all songs)
• If you wish to listen to the radio, press the USB/SD/FM button.
• You can remove protective foil from the control panel as desired.
SETTING THE VOLUME
Turn the volume control knob to increase the volume. There are three ways to adjust the volume.
Besides the button, you can also adjust the volume by pressing and holding the back/next but-
tons at the front. The third option is to use the remote control’s VOL+ / VOL- buttons.
• After setting the volume to a lower level using the remote control or the buttons, you cannot
reach the maximum volume using the turning knob anymore. Keep this in mind when adjusting
the volume using the turning knob.
SELECTING THE PLAYBACK SOURCE
The product can play audio from three sources: FM receiver, UDB storage device (pendrive,
MP3 player, multimedia player etc.), or an SD/SDHC/MMC memory card. The player selects the
source in a semi-automatic way.
FM radio: use the USB/SD/FM button to select this source.
SD/SDHC/MMC: insert the card into the slot with a firm movement. The angled corner of the SD/
SDHC/MMC card should be at the bottom right when looking at the player from the front, with the
connectors facing you. Do not try to force the card into the slot in any other position.
USB: you can only plug in a USB stick in one way. If it is stuck, turn it upside down and try again;
do not force it into the slot.
• If you previously played MP3 tracks, then playback will start with the last active track.
• If both a USB stick and an SD card is connected at the same time, then playback will resume
from the USB device when you turn on the player, even if you were last listening to the SD
card’s tracks or the FM receiver.
• If both a USB stick and an SD card is connected at the same time, then you can switch between
these two or the FM receiver by pressing the USB/SD/FM button.
• The product always starts playback automatically from the last inserted USB/SD source.
EQUALIZER SETTINGS
Press EQ repeatedly while the player is playing an MP3 track. You can choose from the follow-
ing equalizer settings to best match the music you are playing: NORMAL, POP, ROCK, JAZZ,
CLASSIC, COUNTRY. A neutral setting, NORMAL, is the factory default setting that does not
change the tone in any way.

• The equalizer is not available when the FM receiver is active.
• When you turn off the player using the main switch at the back it reverts to the normal setting.
• When you are listening to audio at a higher volume, it is recommended to select the normal
mode, as other settings can cause distortion.
USING THE FM RECEIVER
After turning on the product, select the FM receiver function using the USB/SD/FM button. In
order to start seeking for FM stations automatically, press and hold for 2 seconds. While
seeking, the receiver will pause for a short time at stations that have a sufficiently strong signal;
then seeking will continue through the entire FM band. You can later step through the stored
frequencies (maximum 20) by pressing the buttons briefly.
• If you press and hold the buttons for a longer time, that will adjust the volume.
• If you turn off the player using the main switch at the back, the FM receiver will not tune in
again to the frequency you last listened to, but the stored frequencies are not cleared from
the memory.
• If you turn off the player using the remote control, it will resume playing the station at the
frequency you last listened to.
• Pull out the telescopic antenna from the product and turn it into the position that yields the best
reception. If the radio signal is weak, plug in the included USB charging cable, because the
wire inside also serves as an antenna. For best reception, do not coil up the wire.
• If a USB/SD device is still connected while you are listening to the radio, that can also some-
times reduce the quality of radio reception.
PLAYBACK (from USB/SD/SDHC/MMC storage devices)
If you wish to listen to MP3 tracks from a USB/SD/SDHC/MMC storage device and the FM
receiver is currently active, you simply need to connect the USB stick or insert the memory card.
Playback will start automatically. If the playback source was already inserted before you started
listening to the FM receiver, you need to press USB/SD/FM to select it again.
Play / pause: press briefly.
Previous or next track: Press briefly. Press the buttons repeatedly to move to the
previous or next track. (If you press and hold the buttons, the volume will change.)
Turning on the FM receiver: Press USB/SD/FM
• If the player emits no sound or does not recognize the USB/SD/SDHC/MMC memory, then turn
off the product, remove the storage device, turn the player back on, and connect the device
again. If this does not work either, press the USB/SD/FM button to select the signal source.
• The product always starts playback automatically from the last inserted USB/SD source.
• You can have both a USB and an SD/SDHC/MMC device connected at the same time, and
choose from the two sources using the USB/SD/FM button.
• Only disconnect the external unit after you have switched to a different mode from USB/SD/
SDHC/MMC (i.e., the FM receiver), or after turning off the product. Otherwise the data on the
device may be damaged.
• Never disconnect an external unit while playback is in progress.
• When you insert the same storage device again, playback will start at the last played track,
even if you have turned off the player in the meantime.
• Take care to never hit or break off a USB/SD device sticking out of the product.
• Never touch the connectors of these external storage devices with your hand.

• It is very important to keep the USB/SD/SDHC/MMC connectors clean both in the player and
on the storage device. The connectors must be clean of hair, dirt, dust etc.
• Extremely warm or cold temperatures can damages storage devices.
SELECTING THE REPEAT MODE
Press REPEAT briefly while the player is playing an MP3 track. You can choose from the follow-
ing modes by pressing the button repeatedly:
RPT ALL: repeats all available tracks (default).
RANDOM: plays all available tracks in a random order. This can make even a well-known collec-
tion of tracks exciting again. The buttons jump to a random track in this mode.
RPT SINGLE: repeats the current track in an endless loop.
RPT FOLDER: repeats the current folder.
• When you turn off the player it reverts to the factory default (RPTALL).
• When RTP SINGLE is active, you can select a different track using the back/next buttons; then
the player will repeat the new track in an endless loop.
CONNECTING TO AN EXTERNAL SIGNAL (AUX)
The 3.5 mm AUDIO IN socket serves as the input for the amplifier. If you connect another
player’s audio output here, you can use the product to play that audio through the speakers. You
do not need to change any setting for this, but make sure you disconnect all USB/SD devices
first. You can play the output of a computer, CD/DVD player, MP3 or multimedia player, cell
phone etc. this way.
• Use the stereo connection cables included with the product.
• In order to connect products that do not have a 3.5 mm output you may need to purchase an
external adapter.
REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
To start using the remote control, remove the plastic isolator that sticks out of the battery com-
partment. If the remote control starts to behave erratically or if its range decreases, replace the
battery with a new one: CR 2025; 3 V battery.
• When using the remote control, direct it towards the infra-red receiver at the top of the player,
below the USB socket.
• To replace the battery, turn the remote control upside down (with the buttons facing down),
then slide the cover to the right. You can then remove the battery case together with the battery
inside. Make sure that the positive pole of the battery you insert faces up. Follow the instruc-
tions on the bottom of the remote control.

CHARGING THE BATTERY
The player has a built-in rechargeable battery that cannot be replaced
by users. The operating time provided by the battery depends on the
battery’s current condition and age, the environment temperature, your
volume setting and usage patterns. The battery provides 6-8 hours of
operating time on average. If the sound quality is reduced, the display
backlight fades or the player starts to behave erratically, the battery is
probably exhausted. For maximum battery life, only charge the battery
when it is completely exhausted. While charging it is recommended to
turn off the player; this reduces charging time. Charging the battery
takes approximately 3-4 hours if the battery is completely exhausted.
While charging is in progress, the status LED is lit up in red. When
charging is complete, unplug the charger from both the network and
the player.
• If you are charging the player while it is turned on, you need a 5 V DC
charger with at least a 1A output load capacity. Charging the battery
takes longer if you are using the player.
• If you are charging the player while it is turned off, you need a 5V V
DC charger with at least a 500mA output load capacity. If the capacity
of the charger you are using is too small, it may be overloaded and
damaged. It is recommended to use Somogyi Elektronic’s product
SA 1000USB (5 V / 1 A).
• If you wish to charge the player from your computer, keep the player
turned off and your computer turned on until the batteries are fully

charged. Important: the standard USB output of computers can only provide a maximum of
500 mA output current, which is not sufficient to both charge and operate the player at the
same time.
• It is not recommended to stop charging before the battery is fully charged; conversely, over-
charging can damage the battery. Do not charge the batteries for over 4 hours when the player
is not turned on.
WARNINGS
• Before starting to use the player, read these instructions carefully, then keep them in an acces-
sible place for future reference.
• Do not disassemble or tamper with the player. Incorrect use renders the warranty void.
• Make sure that no external objects get into the USB socket or the memory card slot, as these
can cause fatal damage.
• Protect the device from extreme temperatures, direct heat, sunlight, dust, humidity, and
shock.
PRECAUTIONS
CLEANING
Use a soft, dry cloth and a brush for regular cleaning. To remove stronger stains, wet the cloth
slightly with water. Do not use detergents. Make sure no liquid gets inside the product or onto
the connectors.
USING THE USB/SD CONNECTOR
• You can connect a USB stick (“pendrive”), MP3 audio player, MP4 media player or similar
devices to the player’s USB port. The memory card slot can host SD/SDHC/MMC cards. Sup-
ported file format for playback: MP3 audio files.
• In some cases external USB/SD devices may not be guaranteed to work properly. Manufactur-
ers occasionally change the internal design of their products (e.g., replace a chip used inside),
which does not change the product’s main technical parameters, but it can affect the operation
of devices designed for a similar but previous generation product. It is therefore possible that
even products of the exact same type yield different results. Do not use a USB hub; extension
cords are allowed.
• It is recommended to store the tracks you wish to play in the root folder. You can define the
playback order of the tracks by renaming the files or adding a number at the front. We do not
recommend the use of storage devices over 8 GB because a large number of tracks can in-
crease the time needed to access each track. Only store MP3 files for playback on the storage
device; the presence of other data/files can slow down the player or interfere with playback.
• The player detects MP3 files stored in subfolders as well, up to a depth of 6 subfolders.
• In order to protect their precision connectors, it is important to always insert and remove USB/
SD/SDHC/MMC devices in a straight position. If you insert a device at an angle, you can dam-
age the connection socket on the player itself.
• SD cards are preferred over USB sticks because their design allows you to connect them in a
safer and more stable way. In addition, there is a lower risk of damaging the player by acciden-
tally hitting the connected device. Any damage resulting from such user error is not considered
as a manufacturing defect, and is not covered by the warranty.

Warning! The manufacturer takes no responsibility for lost or damaged data, even if such loss or
damage occurs while using the player. Before connecting the storage device it is recommended
to create a backup of the data and tracks on it on your personal computer.
PROPER USE OF USB STICKS / SD CARDS
To avoid malfunction and errors, please observe the following:
• Carefully read the instructions of the USB/SD storage device or media player.
• Do not touch the connectors with your hand or any object; keep the connectors clean.
• Protect the USB/SD device from strong shocks.
• Do not bend, drop, disassemble or modify these devices, and protect them from humidity.
Further important notes:
• USB/SD memory devices may not function properly at extremely high or low temperatures.
• Only use high-quality UDB/SD devices. Depending on their type and condition, even such
high-quality products may not always work properly.
• The proper operation of these devices is not always guaranteed.
• Depending on the type and condition of the USB/SD device and the settings used in the soft-
ware that encoded the MP3 files, the player may not detect or play back certain files.
• The player is not guaranteed to play copy-protected files (legal copyright protection).
• The USB/SD memory device may need a certain amount of time before playback can start.
• If the device also includes non-audio files, the time needed for playback to start may be sig-
nificant.
• The product can play files with an .mp3 extension. Do not use this extension on files that do not
contain pure audio data. The player cannot process such non-audio data. The noise emitted
when playing such files can damage the speakers and/or amplifiers.
• Do not remove the USB/SD device while playback is in progress. In order to protect it from
potential damage, first switch to a different signal source (the FM receiver) or turn off the player,
and only then remove the USB/SD device.
• If you connect a portable audio player instead of a USB/SD memory through the USB port, and
the device has an MSC/MTP setting, choose the MTP option.
