6 Zone System

DAB1
DISTRIBUTED AUDIO SYSTEM
THE LEADER IN ARCHITECTURAL AUDIO™

DAB1
With the Sonance DAB1 it’s never been easier to enjoy and control music
throughout the home. With the DAB1 you can add any Sonance in-wall keypad
or use the included DAB1 IR remote to listen to and control up to four audio
sources (including the built-in FM/AM tuner) in up to six zones, with independent
control in each zone. With the DAB1’s built-in amplification, just add speakers
and you can bring entertainment to just about anywhere in the home. And
multiple DAB1s can be bridged to provide music in larger homes — up to 24
zones — with the same simplicity of control.
Easy to Program and Configure
The PC-based DAB Program Manager software simplifies configuring even a very
sophisticated whole-house system. The Program Manager software includes an
extremely extensive IR library that lets you build macros with drag-and-drop
convenience. In addition to IR control, DAB1 macros can also contain repeated
commands, time delays, RS-232 commands and commands for the DAB1 itself,
so you have the flexibility to program exactly what the user will need.
Upgradeable firmware lets you add new features to DAB1s in the field as they
become available. In addition to programming macros, the Program Manager software
also makes it simple to set up each zone’s Default (‘turn-on’) Volume and
Maximum Volume, Treble, Bass, Balance and Paging Volume, and to adjust each
source component’s input level so that they all play at the same volume.
Easy to Use
With its extensive macro capability, the DAB1 becomes essentially “invisible” to
the user. The DAB1 can be configured so that a single button touch activates the
audio/video system, dims lights, shuts drapes, lowers a video screen and begins
playing music or a movie. The DAB1 can also provide simple, logical control of
up to four source components. With IR passthrough you can control the DAB1
from the convenience of your listening chair using the included DAB1 remote or
3rd-party remotes.
