!
Xperia™E1 is the smartphone that brings Sony's leading audio
technologies together with expertise in display, design,
performance and content. This combined technology results in a
smartphone independently recognised as the "world's best
smartphone in its class1." It features the fastest processor in its
category; cat 14 HSPA+ for fast data speeds, 4" WVGA display
for a bright and clear experience, and a super-clear 100dB
speaker for an incredible listening experience. To make the most
of this technology, Xperia E1 also comes with 30 days free access
to Music Unlimited.
This quick reference guide is designed to help you (media and
bloggers) quickly understand and make the most of some of the
key features. We also provide some quick, easy to use assets that
you are free to use as you like.

Why Xperia E1 is the ideal music smartphone?
Five key areas set Xperia E1 apart; 100dB
speaker, ClearAudio+, xLOUD Shake Control and
a dedicated WALKMAN key.
Xperia E1 is powered by our xLOUD sound
enhancement engine, adding power to the sound

ClearAudio+ involves three key
technologies - Clear Stereo, Clear
Bass and Clear Phase - which all

A true WALKMAN™experience
Xperia E1 comes with a dedicated WALKMAN key; a
button marked “W” on the top right of the handset which
launches the WALKMAN app. It even launches in sleep
mode when you hold it down longer for when the phone’s
locked. The WALKMAN app can also be controlled through
the Shake Control feature.Press and hold the WALKMAN
key, and shake when the music is playing. The app will
then shuffle the play queue and start to play a random
track in your playlist. It works no matter if the screen is on
or off.
Suggested demos:
Press the WALKMAN dedicated key for two seconds until
WALKMAN is launched from the phone’s sleep mode.
Click on an album, choose a song and then hit play. Turn
the volume up to max.
Shake the phone (shake control) when a song is playing to
shuffle. Then pause the song by pressing the W. button
once (short press). Press again for a song to resume. Press
twice for the next song in line to start playing. Make three
short presses for the previous song to come on again.

Movies and Album apps. The latest version of WALKMAN
comes with Sony Music Unlimited services for access to
entertainment wherever you go.

With PlayMemories Online, you are able to upload all the
images, movies and songs you need on to our cloud services
for easy sharing between devices. There's no storage limit,
although some larger Images may be subject to downsizing so
that the longest side is no more than 1920px long.
TrackID™
Ever wondered what the name of that song is when your sitting
in a bar? Well, Xperia E1 comes preloaded with Sony’s clever
music identifier app: TrackID™. The app syncs with the audio
from the song played being played on the radio, or even in the
background, to provide users with the details related to the
artist, track, album and more.
Most powerful smartphone processor in its class***
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2GHz dual-core processor in
Xperia E1 means ultra-fast performance. Combined with
super-fast cat 14 HSPA+ for fast data, you have access to
entertainment, anytime, anywhere. The 1.2GHz dual-core
processor provides top performance and speed, without
draining the battery life. What’s more, is that the processor’s
asynchronous, meaning each core is powered independently,
ensuring you'll get the exact amount of power when you
need it, without wasting power when you don't.
Long-lasting battery performance
Xperia E1's large 1700mAh battery with Battery STAMINA Mode
is designed for long lasting performance (see box to the right).
Battery STAMINA Mode significantly improves the standby time
of the smartphone by four times or more. When the display is
switched off, all the functions that don’t need to be running are
also automatically switched off, whilst keeping the important
functions (such as notifications) switched on. As soon as the
power button is pressed to wake the screen, everything is up

You can customise Battery STAMINA Mode to suit your personal needs. Automatic settings
mean that Wi-Fi and data traffic are disabled during standby, whilst still allowing Xperia E1 to
receive incoming calls, texts and alarms. By going into the settings menu for Battery STAMINA
Mode, you can choose which apps you want to receive push notifications from. Try switching the
Battery STAMINA Mode on/off to see the difference in battery life.
Designing Xperia™E1: Beautiful and durable design
Xperia E1 is designed for durability and beauty with a
solid, premium look and feel that's distinctively Sony.
Using Sony’s OmniBalance design language, the
minimalistic form is designed to make the user focus
on the display experience of Xperia E1. The 100dB
speaker has a designated space on the back of the
phone. Next to the seamless sides of Xperia E1, you
will also find the dedicated WALKMAN key.
Screen technology from Sony's TV Expertise
Featuring a large 4" WVGA screen, it is
built using Sony's TV expertise with a
resolution of 800x480 pixels. Xperia E1’
s scratch resistant large, 4”display is
built with the same expertise that brought
you Sony TVs. Our engineers have
optimised these TV technologies for
mobile phones.

Dual SIM, no compromise
Xperia™ E1 Dual comes with many advantages. It allows you to
separate work from play – and handle your calls more cost-
efficiently. With the new dual SIM feature, you can keep both SIM
cards active for your calls – meaning that you can talk on one SIM,
and still receive calls on the other, instead of going to voicemail.
This gives you the option of putting the first call on hold while
answering the one coming in. And as a result, you’ll never miss a
call. You activate the dual SIM feature when you set up your
phone. If you add your second SIM card later, you can always
access the setup guide from the Settings menu.

Bluetooth Music Receiver BM10
BM10 is a long-range high-quality wireless audio receiver that
lets you stream music and audio from your smartphone or
tablet through your home Hi-Fi system. The connection is
wireless so users can hold Xperia E1 up to 100 metres from
the receiver unit.
Stereo Bluetooth Headset SBH20
Available in a number of colours, the Stereo Bluetooth Headset
SBH20 is a wireless stereo headset for clear calling and
impressive audio. Just like Xperia E1, SBH20 offers rich bass
and dynamic sound. When on a call, users are able to
experience HD Voice and noise cancellation.
Stereo Headset STH30
Stereo Headset STH30 is a clear audio certified, part in-ear
headset that is water resistant. The headset has
ergonomically designed earbuds and 9.2 mm dynamic
earphone speakers for high comfort listening.
