Oncleaning
Tokeeptheunitlookingbrand-new,periodicallycleanit
witha milddetergentsolution.Neverusestrongsolvents
suchasthinnerorbenzine,orabrasivecleanserssincethey
willdamagethecabinet.Asa safetyprecaution,unplugthe
unitbeforecleaningit.
Onrepacking
Donotthrowawaythecartonandpackingmaterials.They
makeanidealcontainerwhichtotransporttheunit.When
shippingtheunittoanotherlocation,repackitasillustrated
onthecarton.

HR(HighResolution)Trinitronpicturetube
HRTrinitrontubeprovides a highresolutionpicture.
Horizontalresolution is morethan600TVlines atthe center
of the picture.
Fourcolorsystemsavailable
Themonitor can displayPAL, SECAM, NTSC and NTSC4 43*
signals. The appropriatecolorsystem is selected
automatically.
* A signal of NTSC4.43 is used for playingbackNTSC
recordedvideocassetteswith a videotaperecorder/
playerespeciallydesigned foruse withthissystem.
. Blueonly mode
In the blueonlymode, an apparentmonochromedisplay is
obtainedwith all threecathodesdrivenwith a bluesignal.
Thisfacilitatescolorsaturation and phaseadjustments and
observation of VCRnoise.
AnalogRGB/componentinputconnectors
AnalogRGB or component(Y,R-Y and B-Y)signalsfrom
videoequipment canbe inputthroughtheseconnectors.
Y/Cinputconnectors
Thevideosignal,splitinto the chrominancesignal(C) and
theluminancesignal(Y), canbe inputthroughthis
connector,eliminating the interferencebetween thetwo
signals,whichtends to occur ina compositevideosignal,
assuringvideoquality.
Beamcurrentfeedbackcircuit
Thebuilt-inbeamcurrentfeedbackcircuitassuresstable
whitebalance.
Combfilter
WhenNTSCvideosignals are received, a combfilter
activates to increase the resolution,resulting in finepicture
detailwithoutcolorspill or colornoise.
Automatic termination
(connectorwith \/y mark only)
Theinputconnector is terminated at 75ohmsinsidewhen no
cable is connected tothe loop-throughoutputconnectors.
When a cable is connected toan outputconnector, the
75-ohmstermination is automaticallyreleased.
Underscan mode
Thesignalnormallyscannedoutside ofthe screen canbe
monitored inthe underscanmode.
Horizontal/verticaldelaymode
Thehorizontal and verticalsyncsignals canbe checked
simultaneously intheH/V delaymode.
Externalsyncinput
When the EXTSYNCselector isintheon position, the
monitor canbe operated onthe syncsignalsuppliedfrom
anexternalsyncgenerator.
Auto/manualdegaussing
Degaussing ofthe screen canbe performedautomatically
when the power is turned on,or manually by pressing the
DEGAUSSbutton.
On-screenmenus
You canset colortemperature,CHROMASETUP, and
othersettings by using the on-screenmenus.
Fivemenulanguages
You can select the menulanguagefromamong the five
languages onthe menu.
EIA standard19-inchrackmounting
Byusing an MB-502B (for PVM-1454QM) or SLR-103 (for
PVM-2054QM)mountingbracket(notsupplied), the
monitor canbe mounted inanEIA standard19-inchrack.
Fordetails on mounting, seethe instructionmanual ofthe
mountingbracket kit.
SDI (SerialDigitalInterface)kit
ByusingSDI kit,the monitor can displaySMPTE259M4:2:2
serialdigitalsignalfrom a digitalVTR.(ex.Sony4:2:2VTR)

When the monitor isinthe underscanmode, the darkRGB
scanninglines may appear onthetop edge ofthe screen.
These are caused byan internaltestsignal,ratherthan the

Plug the powercordinto theACIN socket.Then,attach the
ACplugholder(supplied) ontopoftheAC powercord. Slide
theAC plugholderover the corduntil it connects
with the attachedholder.
ToremovetheACpowercord
Pull outAC plugholder by squeezing the left and rightsides.
