Creating your own programme
(programme play)
Youcanarrangethe playingorder ofupto 20 tracks on a CD.
1Followsteps 1and2in “Playinga CD”
2Press MODE until “PROGRAM”appears in
thedisplay.
3Press .or Nor turn
TUNING/SELECTto selectthe trackand then
press ENTER to add it totheprogramme.
Repeat toprogramme other tracks in the order that
you want.
Aer programmingthe rsttrack, “STEP 1” appears,
followedbyselectedtrack.
Each time you add a track, a step number is added.
4Press V(#ontheremote) tostart
ProgrammePlay.
Tocancel programme play
Stop playingrst. en press MODE until “PROGRAM”
disappearsfromthe display.
To clear the programme you set
[Press CLEAR ontheremote.
[Stop playback rst. en press STOP Y.
Tip
Youcanplaythe sameprogramme again, since the
programme is saved until youeject the CD.
Connecting optional
component
To enhance your system, youcan connectoptional
components. Besuretoturnothepower ofeach
componentbeforemakingany connections. For details, refer
tothe instructionmanual ofthe component tobe connected.
To listen to the sound from optional
components in the unit
1Connect the AUDIO IN jack onthe unit to
thelineoutputjackoftheportable digital
music player orother components usingan
audio connectingcable* (notsupplied).

For a PC: use a cable which lls the connectorof
your PC. For a TVorVCR: use a cable with a stereo-
mini plug onone end and twophono plugs onthe
other end. For a portable digitalmusic player:use a
cable with a stereo-mini plug onboth ends.

Using the timers
e unitoers three timer functions. Ifyouusethe
alarmtimer or guide timer withthe sleep timer,the sleep
timer has priority.
Setting the sleep timer
e sleep timer allows youto fall asleep to thesound of a
CD,the radio,or inputfromthe AUDIO IN function.It
does this byautomaticallyturningothe CD,the radio,or
inputfromthe AUDIO IN functionaer a preset duration.
1Press SLEEP whilethe unitisturnedon.
“SLEEP”appears in the display.
2Press SLEEP to set the sleep timer duration.
Eachtimeyoupress SLEEP,thedurationchangesas
follows:
“AUTO*”

“OFF”.
*When youselect“AUTO,”the CD stops playing in
90 minutes atmost and the unitgoeso
automatically.When youare listeningto the radio,
the radio goes oin 90 minutes.
e unitautomaticallyturnsowhen the duration time
ispassed.
4secondsaer youhavenished thedurationsetting
andreleasedSLEEP,“SLEEP”appears in the displayand
back lightwill turno,then the sleep timer starts. e
unitwill playforthedurationyouset, andthenshuto.
Note
Even if thedurationispassed,the optional component
connected withAUDIO IN is not turnedo.
To change the sleep timer setting
Repeatstep 2toselectthe desiredsleep timer setting
even aer thesleep timer has been activated.
To deactivate the sleep timer
[Press POWER. e unitwill turno.
[Press SLEEP toset the sleep timer “OFF,”onlythe sleep
timer will becancelled (the unitstays ON).
Setting the alarm timer
Youcanset the unitto turnonautomaticallyat a preset time.
e timer sound is selectable fromDAB, FM, CD and
BUZZER.
Makesureyouhavesettheclock.

When youselect the preset number “P--” during
DAB service reception, the most recentreception
service is received.
9Press POWER to turnothe unit.
e unit turnsonabout 15 seconds beforethepreset
time.
Ifthe unitis onat thepreset time,the alarmtimer
will notplay.
To stop the alarm timer
Press POWER.
To deactivate the alarm timer
Performthe same procedureas in step 4to select“OFF.”

Setting the guide timer
To set the guide timer
Youcanset upto 10 guide timersusingthe EPG display
basedonthe downloaded DABdata.
Makesureyouhave download the EPG.

remote) and press SCAN +or –toselect the
desiredprogramme,thenpress ENTER.

remote) to adjust the volume,then press
ENTER.
Ifyouselect the stored number in step 2, do the

Notes
[Youcannotset the guide timer if thefollowing
indicationsappear.
–“TIMEOVERLAPPING”: On-time oftwo ormore
guide timers overlap.
–“TIMER NG”: e on-time and o-time arethe
same.
–“TIMER FULL”: Maximum numbersof guide timers
havebeen alreadyset.
[If a guide timer activates while the power is turnedon,
thepowerisnotturnedowhentheo-timeofthe
guide timer passes.
[Ifanother guide timer activates while a guide timer
sounds, the latter onehas priority.
[Ifthe on-time ofthe alarmtimer and guide timer is
same, guide timer has priority.

Using the power saving mode
is unithas a power savingmode in ACoperation.
While the ACpower adaptoris connected in power o,
press DISPLAYformorethan 2 seconds.
