Before operating the unit, please read this guide thoroughly and retain it for future reference.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not cover the ventilation opening of the appliance with newspapers,
tablecloths, curtains, etc. Do not expose the appliance to naked flame sources (for example,
lighted candles).
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to dripping or splashing,
and do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.
Do not install the appliance in a confined space, such as a bookcase or similar unit.
Do not expose batteries or apparatus with battery installed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire
or the like.
Do not dismantle, open or shred secondary cells or batteries.
In the event of a cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come in contact with the skin or eyes. If
contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical
advice.
Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment.
Do not use any cell or battery which is not designed for use with the equipment.
Secondary cells and batteries need to be charged before use. Always use the correct charger and
refer to the manufacturer’s instructions or equipment manual for proper charging instructions.
After extended periods of storage, it may be necessary to charge and discharge the cells or
batteries several times to obtain maximum performance.
Dispose of properly.
As the main plug is used to disconnect the USB AC adaptor from the AC power source (mains),
connect it to an easily accessible AC outlet. Should you notice an abnormality in it, disconnect it
from the AC outlet immediately.
The unit is not disconnected from the AC power source (mains) as long as it is connected to the
wall outlet, even if the unit itself has been turned off.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits set out in the EMC regulation
using a connection cable shorter than 3 meters.
Do not subject the unit to strong impact.
Do not subject the unit to excessive force or strong impact. A portion of the unit is made of organic
glass. Chipped or broken glass may result in injury. In the case of broken glass, stop use
immediately and be careful not to touch the broken area.
Precautions
On safety
• The nameplates are located on the bottom exterior of the unit and the surface of the AC adaptor.
• The MAC address of the Wi-Fi network is located on the bottom exterior of this unit.
• Before using the USB AC adaptor, be sure that the operating voltage is identical with that of your
local power supply.

On temperature rise
• If the unit is used for an extended period of time, the temperature of the unit and the USB AC
adaptor will rise. This is not a malfunction.
On placement
• The speaker unit, built-in amp, and cabinet are precisely tuned. Do not dismantle, modify, etc.
• Do not insert foreign objects from the opening of the speaker unit.
• Do not splash water onto this product. The product is not waterproof.
• Do not leave the unit in a place subject to high temperatures, such as direct sunlight, near a heat
source or under lighting equipment.
• Do not use or leave the unit in a car.
• Do not set the unit in an inclined position. Otherwise, the unit’s vibrations may cause it to fall,
leading to a malfunction, damage, or reduced performance.
• Use caution when placing the unit on a specially treated (waxed, oiled, polished, etc.) surface, as
staining or discoloration may result.
• Depending on the placement situation, the unit may fall or drop. Do not leave any valuable
objects near the unit.
• When carrying the unit, be careful of the following.
– Do not leave any objects susceptible to magnetism (cash cards, etc.) near the unit.
– Do not grip the organic glass cylinder.
– Do not hit the unit against objects.
• If the unit becomes dirty, wipe the cabinet with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Do
not use benzine, alcohol, thinner, detergent, etc., because they will damage the surface finish.

On organic glass
The unit uses organic glass.
Misusing the organic glass may cause the glass to break, cause injury, or sometimes lead to
blindness. It may also have adverse effects on the sound quality, illumination, etc. To avoid an
accident, be sure to adhere to the following.
• Do not grasp the organic glass directly with your hands or lift it.
Grasping the organic glass to lift the unit may damage the unit or cause injuries if the unit falls.
• Do not subject the unit to strong impacts, such as dropping it from a high place, hitting it against
something, or stepping on it. If you hit the unit against a hard object, even without strong force,
the organic glass may break, crack, chip, or warp, causing failure or low performance.
• Do not scratch the organic glass.
Small cracks and chips can cause the organic glass to break. If the glass cracks but does not
immediately break, it may break suddenly at an unexpected time. Small chips, small cracks and
large cracks can have a strong negative impact on sound quality, illumination, and other
functions.
• Do not subject the unit to extreme temperature changes.
The organic glass is not heat resistant. Do not place the unit near or on top of hot objects.
Extreme temperature changes may cause the glass to break or warp.
If you notice any cracks, chips, breaks, or other abnormalities in the organic glass cylinder, contact
your nearest Sony dealer.
On handling the organic glass cylinder
• Without using strong force, brush away dust with a soft brush or feather duster, and use the
supplied cleaning cloth to wipe the organic glass clean. (Do not use a scrubbing brush, sponge,
etc.)
• If the organic glass is oily or covered in fingerprints, breathe onto it and use the supplied
cleaning cloth to wipe it off.
• If the organic glass is exceptionally dirty, wipe it with the supplied cleaning cloth that has been
dampened with cold or lukewarm soapy water.
• Do not use benzine, alcohol, thinner, detergent, etc., because they will damage the surface finish.
• Do not dismantle the unit, because it may cause performance and sound quality deterioration.
On the organic glass cylinder illumination
• Do not look directly into the illumination.
Notes on the USB AC adaptor
• When connecting or disconnecting the USB AC adaptor, turn off the unit beforehand. Otherwise,
it may cause malfunction.
• Use only the supplied USB AC adaptor and micro-USB cable. To avoid damaging the unit, do not
use any other USB AC adaptor.
Polarity of the plug
• Plug the USB AC adaptor into a nearby AC outlet. In the case of a problem, unplug it from the AC
outlet immediately.
• Do not install the USB AC adaptor in a confined space, such as a bookcase or built-in cabinet.
Others
• Do not use or leave the unit in an extremely cold or hot environment (temperature outside the
range of 5 °C – 35 °C). If the unit is used or left in outside the above range, the unit may
automatically stop to protect internal circuitry.
• At high temperature, the charging may stop or the volume may reduce to protect the battery.
• It is recommended that you charge the battery when you find the charge indicator flashing. By
charging the battery after the indicator starts flashing, you can use the battery longer.
• Even if you do not intend to use the unit for a long time, charge the battery to its full capacity
once every 6 months to maintain its performance.
• If the duration that the unit can be used shortens to about half the normal time, consider the life
span of the rechargeable battery.
• If you have any questions or problems concerning this unit that are not covered in this manual,
please consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Notes on the update
If you use this unit while connected to the Internet via a Wi-Fi network, the unit can update to
the latest software automatically.
By updating the software, new features will be added enabling you to experience more
convenient and stable use.
If you do not want to automatically update the software, you can disable this function by
using Sony | Music Center installed on your smartphone/iPhone.
However, the software may be updated automatically for stable use, etc., even if you disable
this function. Also, if you disable this function, you can still update the software manually.

The unit may not be operational while updating.

Después de largos períodos de almacenamiento, puede ser necesario
cargar y descargar las baterías varias veces para obtener el máximo
rendimiento.
Elimínelas de forma adecuada.
Como el enchufe se utiliza para desconectar el adaptador de ca USB de
la fuente de alimentación de ca (red eléctrica), conéctelo a una toma de
ca de fácil acceso. Si nota alguna anomalía, desconéctelo
inmediatamente de la toma de ca.
La unidad no se desconectará de la fuente de alimentación de ca (red
eléctrica) mientras permanezca conectada a la toma de la red eléctrica,
aunque haya apagado la propia unidad.
Este equipo se ha sometido a pruebas y los resultados demuestran que
cumple con los límites estipulados en la normativa de EMC utilizando un
cable de conexión con una longitud inferior a los 3metros.
No exponga la unidad a impactos fuertes.
No someta la unidad a una fuerza excesiva o impactos fuertes. Una
parte de la unidad está fabricada con cristal orgánico. Un cristal astillado
o roto puede provocar lesiones. En caso de rotura del cristal, deje de
utilizar el equipo de inmediato y no toque la zona de la rotura.
Precauciones
Acerca de la seguridad
• Las placas de identificación están situadas en la parte inferior externa
de la unidad y en la superficie del adaptador de ca.
• La dirección MAC de la red Wi-Fi se encuentra en la parte inferior
externa de esta unidad.
• Antes de utilizar el adaptador de ca USB, asegúrese de que el voltaje
de funcionamiento es idéntico al del suministro eléctrico local.

Notas sobre el aumento de temperatura
• Si la unidad se utiliza durante un período prolongado, la temperatura

Ubicación
• La unidad del altavoz, el amplificador integrado y la caja están

• Evite el contacto de salpicaduras de agua con este producto. El
producto no es hermético al agua.
• No deje la unidad en lugares expuestos a temperaturas altas, como la
luz solar directa, cerca de una fuente de calor o bajo un equipo de
iluminación.
• No utilice ni deje la unidad en un automóvil.
• No coloque la unidad en una posición inclinada. De lo contrario, las
vibraciones de la unidad podrían provocar su caída y una posible
avería, daños o un funcionamiento incorrecto.
• Adopte las máximas precauciones si coloca la unidad sobre una

• Si la unidad se ensucia, limpie la caja con un paño suave humedecido
con un detergente neutro. No utilice gasolina, alcohol, disolvente,
detergente, etc., ya que podrían estropear el acabado de la superficie.

Notas sobre el cristal orgánico
La unidad utiliza cristal orgánico.
Una utilización incorrecta del cristal orgánico puede provocar roturas en
el cristal, lesiones o incluso ceguera. También puede afectar
negativamente la calidad del sonido, la iluminación, etc. Para evitar
accidentes, asegúrese de tener en cuenta las siguientes precauciones.
• No sujete el cristal orgánico directamente de sus manos ni lo levante.
Agarrar el cristal orgánico para levantar la unidad puede dañar la
unidad o causar lesiones si se cae.
• No someta la unidad a impactos fuertes, causados por ejemplo por
caídas desde un lugar elevado, impactos contra otro objeto, ni se suba
sobre ella. Si golpea la unidad contra un objeto duro, aunque no sea
con una fuerza excesiva, el cristal orgánico puede romperse,
agrietarse, astillarse o deformarse, lo que puede provocar errores o
problemas de funcionamiento.
• No arañe el cristal orgánico.
Una pequeña grieta o astilla puede provocar la rotura del cristal
orgánico. Si el cristal se agrieta pero sin llegar a romperse, podría
romperse más adelante de forma inesperada. Una pequeña astilla o
una grieta grande o pequeña puede afectar negativamente la calidad
del sonido, la iluminación u otras funciones.
• No exponga la unidad a cambios bruscos de temperatura.
El cristal orgánico no es resistente al calor. No coloque la unidad cerca
o encima de objetos calientes.
Los cambios bruscos de temperatura pueden provocar la rotura o la
deformación del cristal.
Si observa grietas, astillas, roturas u otras anomalías en el cilindro de
cristal orgánico, póngase en contacto con su distribuidor Sony más
próximo.
Manipulación del cilindro de cristal orgánico
• Sin aplicar una fuerza excesiva, limpie el polvo con un cepillo suave o
un plumero y utilice la gamuza de limpieza suministrada para limpiar
el cristal orgánico. (No utilice estropajos, esponjas, etc.)
• Si el cristal orgánico está pegajoso o presenta marcas de huellas
dactilares, empañe el cristal con su aliento y utilice la gamuza de
limpieza suministrada para limpiarlo.
• Si el cristal orgánico está muy sucio, límpielo con el paño suministrado
humedecido con agua fría o tibia mezclada con jabón.
• No utilice gasolina, alcohol, disolvente, detergente, etc., ya que
podrían estropear el acabado de la superficie.
• No desarme la unidad, ya que podría deteriorar el rendimiento y la
calidad del sonido.
Notas sobre la iluminación del cilindro de cristal orgánico
• No mire directamente a la fuente de iluminación.
Notas sobre el adaptador de ca USB
• Cuando conecte o desconecte el adaptador de ca USB, apague
siempre primero la unidad. De lo contrario, podría producirse un fallo
de funcionamiento.
• Utilice únicamente el adaptador de ca USB suministrado y el cable
micro-USB. Para evitar provocar daños en la unidad, no utilice ningún
otro adaptador de ca USB.
Polaridad de la clavija
• Enchufe el adaptador de ca USB a una toma de ca cercana. En el caso
de que se produzca un problema, desenchúfela de la toma de ca
inmediatamente.
• No instale el adaptador de ca USB en un espacio cerrado, como una
estantería o un armario empotrado.
Otros
• No coloque ni deje la unidad en lugares extremadamente fríos o
extremadamente calientes (temperaturas por fuera del rango de 5 °C a
35 °C). Si la unidad se utiliza o se deja fuera de la gama anterior, puede
detenerse automáticamente para proteger los circuitos internos.
• A altas temperaturas, la carga se puede detener o el volumen se
puede reducir para proteger la batería.
• Se recomienda que cargue la batería cuando encuentre el indicador
de carga parpadeando. Al cargar la batería después de que el
indicador comience a parpadear, podrá utilizar la batería durante más
tiempo.
• Incluso si no pretende utilizar la unidad durante mucho tiempo,
cargue la batería por completo una vez cada 6 meses para mantener
su desempeño.
• Si la autonomía de la unidad se reduce a la mitad del tiempo normal,
tal vez se haya reducido la vida útil de la batería recargable.
