install and configure the access, point may refer to the following documents:

Placing into operation
Scope of supply
The supplied parts are indicated in the Sophos Access Points Quick Start
Guide.
Mounting instructions
All access points can be put on a stable horizontal surface or can be
mounted on the wall. Please take note of the following security hints:
Warnings and precautions
The access point can be operated safely if you observe the following notes
and the notes on the device itself.
General precautions
Review the electrical and general safety precautions that came with the
components you are adding to your access point. Allow the power supply
modules to cool before touching them.
Sophos AP10 mounting instructions
The Sophos AP10 can be mounted on the wall. Screws are not included in
delivery. Use only screws whose dimensions correspond with the mounting
holes on the back side.
Connection and configuration
How to connect the access point to the internal network is described in the
Sophos Access Points Quick Start Guide.

Scope of supply

Mounting instructions
All access points can be put on a stable horizontal surface or can be
mounted on the wall. The Sophos AP30 can also be mounted on the ceiling.
Please take note of the following security hints:

components you are adding to your access point. Allow the power supply
modules to cool before touching them.
Sophos AP30 mounting instructions
The Astaro AP30 can be mounted on the ceiling. Screws are included
in delivery. Use the screws from the scope of supply or screws whose
dimensions correspond with the mounting holes in the bracket.
1. Remove the bracket from the housing:
Unlock the bracket on the backside by turning it (approx. 5°) anticlockwise.
Then you can take off the bracket.
2. Mount the bracket on the ceiling:
Use the screws and anchors from the scope of supply.
3. Place the access point on the bracket:
Place the housing on the bracket and lock it by turning clockwise until stop.
Connection and configuration
How to connect the access point to the internal network is described in the
Sophos Access Points Quick Start Guide.
Power-over-Ethernet injector
(optionally included with AP30)
The PoE injector PD-3501/AC converts AC power to 50 V; DC power is then
provided over the Ethernet cable. This PoE injector supports up to 10/100
Mbps pass through data rates. The single port PD-3501/AC can be powered
via universal AC input and can provide up to 15.4 W.
Warning: Do not use cross over cable between the PoE injector PD-3501/AC
output port and the Access Point.

Note: Before placing the PoE injector:
ÌDo not cover the PoE injector or block the airflow to the PoE with any
foreign objects. Keep the PoE away from excessive heat and humidity and
free from vibration and dust.
ÌEnsure that the cable length from Ethernet network source to the AP30
does not exceed 100 m (330 ft). The PoE is not a repeater and does not
amplify the Ethernet data signal.

Installing the PoE injector
1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Data & Power Out interface.
2. Connect the other end of this Ethernet cable to the Ethernet interface of
the AP30.
3. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Data In interface.
4. Connect the other end of this Ethernet cable to your network switch.
5. Connect the AC power cord from the scope of supply to the
PD-3501/AC.
6. Connect the AC power cable to an AC outlet (100 – 240 VAC).

Regulatory requirements
Sophos Access Points may not operate properly if they are not designed
for use in your country of operation. For example, an AP50 with the
supplementary model designation "FCC" (regulatory domain of the U.S.)
cannot be used in Europe. To ensure that the AP50 complies with your
country's regulatory requirements, always select the correct country of
operation.
Sophos AP50 mounting instructions
The Sophos AP50 can be mounted at the wall. Screws are not included in

holes on the back side.

Power-over-Ethernet injector
(optionally included with AP50)
The PoE injector PD-9001GR/AC converts AC power to 55 V; DC power
is then provided over the Ethernet cable. This PoE injector supports up to
10/100/1000 Mbps pass through data rates. The single port PD-9001GR/AC
can be powered via universal AC input and can provide up to 30 W.
Warning: Do not use cross over cable between the PoE injector
PD-9001GR/AC output port and the Access Point.

Installing the PoE injector

the AP50.
3. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Data In interface.
4. Connect the other end of this Ethernet cable to your network switch.
5. Connect the AC power cord from the scope of supply to the
PD-9001GR/AC.
6. Connect the AC power cable to an AC outlet (100 – 240 VAC).
