2.1 General warnings
•The pro uct must be use by traine personnel only, having atten e specific training for this evice an
not for similar pro ucts.
•Training routines must be registere on a special register in which the names of those traine , of the
trainers, ate an place are in icate . This register which will certify the eligibility of the operators to use
the Spencer evice has to be kept for a perio of 10 years after the isposal of the evice itself. This register
will be ma e available to the Competent Authorities an /or manufacturer if requeste .
•Spencer Italia S.r.l. is always at your isposal to plan trainings on pro ucts.
•Before carrying out any kin of operation on the appliance (training, installation, use), the operator must
carefully rea the enclose instructions, paying particular attention to the correct safety precautions an to
the proce ures to be followe for installation an for correct use.
•If the instructions belong to another evice an not the evice receive , inform the manufacturer
imme iately an avoi use of the evice.

regulations in the relevant territory.

2.2 Speci ic warnings

•Always respect the maximum capacity of the evice, as in icate in this user's manual. Maximum loa
capacity means the total weight istribute accor ing to the human anatomy. In etermining the loa of the
total weight on the pro uct, the operator must consi er the weight of the patient, the equipment an the
accessories. Moreover, the operator must consi er that the overall imensions of the patient o not
re uce the functionality of the evice.

•For techniques for loa ing particularly heavy patients, for rescue operations on steep groun or
in unusual circumstances, it is recommen e the presence of more operators (not just two as require un er
stan ar con itions).
•The maximum weight sustaine by each rescuer must comply with requirements prescribe by the law of
the Country, concerning Health an Safety at Work.
•Before each use, check the integrity of the belts an their hooks, as specifie in the user’s manual. In case
of malfunction or amage that may compromise the function an safety of the evice, patient or operator, it
is necessary to replace the belts.
•Always immobilize the patient, using the belts supplie by the manufacturer, since the lack of immobilization
can cause serious amage.
•Use the chair only as escribe in this user's manual.
•Pay a lot of attention to possible obstacles (water, ice, ebris, etc.) on the route of the stretcher, because
they coul cause loss of balance for the operator an compromise the proper functioning of the
evice. If you can not set the path free from obstacles, choose an alternative path.
•For slopes greater than 10 mm the evice must be raise , making sure to grab it on the frame.

fasteners.

Profile Series transport chairs are estine to professional use only. The rescue operators must have the
following minimum requirements:

The operators must be traine in efficient, effective an safe patient han ling.
This chair requires the employment of at least two operators equippe with strength, balance, coor ination an
common sense.
Patient loa ing proce ures for extremely heavy patients, operations in rough terrain an in particular situations
more operators may be nee e (not only two as in normal con itions).
The capacities o the various operators must be considered be ore determining his role in the

3. DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT
3.1 Intended use
Wel Series transport chairs Spencer 420, 425 e 427 are me ical evices esigne an constructe to allow the
transport of patients in a sitting position from the point of intervention until the ambulance; therefore it is not
permitte to use the open chair insi e the emergency vehicles, even if provi e with suitable fastening
systems.
These mo els are use in all cases in which, because of the particular con itions of the place of intervention, it
is not possible to use evices having a greater encumbrance. Wel Series transport chairs Spencer 420, 425
an 427 are characterize by an extremely low weight an by the simplification of closing an opening
operations, which are completely automatic.
