CARACTERÍSTICAS
Este selector ha sido diseñado para permitirle conectar
bocinas adicionales alrededor de su casa u ocina sin
necesidad de adquirir más amplicadores.
El selector le proporciona las siguientes facilidades:
- Permite conectar 4 pares de bocinas a su amplicador.
- Se aíslan izquierdas y derechas “comunes” para trabajar
con todo tipo de amplicadores.
- Protección para el amplicador y la unidad.
- Tamaño pequeño acoplable a cualquier sistema.
- No requiere energía para su operación.
- Fácil instalación.
- Puede manejar amplicadores hasta de 100W de poder
con un circuito único de protección.

CONTROLES
1. Bocinas 1 a 4. Presione el botón para seleccionar las bocinas
deseadas. El indicador color naranja le mostrará las bocinas que
están activas.
2. Interruptor de Protección. Activa la protección de baja impedancia
de las bocinas para el amplicador. El indicador blanco muestra que
está encendida.

3. Conexión del Amplicador. De la salida de las bocinas del
amplicador.
4. Conexión de Bocinas. Conecte las bocinas a estas terminales.

INSTALACIÓN
- Se recomienda usar cable de calibre 18 o 16 AWG. Para tendidos
largos (mayores a 15m) se recomienda calibre 14 AWG.
- Usted puede combinar bocinas de 4, 6, 8 y 16 Ohms.
- Dado que las bocinas tienen diferente eciencia, las más ecientes
sonarán más fuerte que las menos ecientes. Cualesquiera que sean
las bocinas que seleccione, observe que sean de la misma eciencia
(una medición típica de eciencia es de 90 dB/W).
- Aleje el cableado de las bocinas del alambrado eléctrico, por
seguridad y para evitar inducción de ruido.
Asegúrese de que su amplicador está apagado antes de iniciar el
cableado.
- Pele la punta del cable aproximadamente 10 mm.
- Tuerza la punta del cable para que no haya hilos sueltos.
- Presione la lengüeta e introduzca la punta del cable dentro del
agujero.
- Verique que no haya hilos sueltos del cable haciendo contacto en
otro lado.
Conecte los cables de la salida de las bocinas de su amplicador
al SEL-400 en las terminales marcadas como Amplicador. Ponga
especial atención a la polaridad.
A continuación, conecte los cables de cada una de las bocinas a las
conexiones correspondientes del SEL-400.

OPERACIÓN
- Cuando inicie la operación, se recomienda que seleccione sólo 2
bocinas en la habitación en que usted se encuentra mientras inicia el
encendido.
- Encienda su amplicador
- Asegúrese de que ambas bocinas emiten sonido
Antes de seleccionar bocinas adicionales lea la siguiente
información.
Circuito de protección
Este circuito se debe de activar en algunos casos cuando hay más
de dos bocinas activas. Provee al amplicador de una impedancia
adicional, compensando si la de las bocinas es muy baja. Además, si
el volumen es excesivo, el circuito de protección apaga el equipo si
el volumen es muy alto. El selector se reestablecerá si la sobrecarga
es removida o si se reduce el volumen. No active el circuito de
protección si piensa escuchar sólo un par de bocinas a un nivel alto.
Revise en el manual de operación de su amplicador para saber la
impedancia mínima que puede manejar.

Cálculo de la impedancia
Si quiere calcular la impedancia de bocinas con diferente impedancia
aquí le decimos cómo hacerlo.
La impedancia de dos bocinas en paralelo es: (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2)
Si la impedancia calculada es menor a la mínima permitida por el
amplicador, encienda la protección.

PÓLIZA DE GARANTÍA
Esta póliza garantiza el producto por el término de un año en todas sus partes y mano de obra, contra cualquier defecto
de fabricación y funcionamiento, a partir de la fecha de entrega.
CONDICIONES
1.- Para hacer efectiva la garantía, presente ésta póliza y el producto, en donde fue adquirido o en Electrónica Steren
S.A. de C.V.
2.- Electrónica Steren S.A de C.V. se compromete a reparar el producto en caso de estar defectuoso sin ningún cargo al
consumidor. Los gastos de transportación serán cubiertos por el proveedor.
3.- El tiempo de reparación en ningún caso será mayor a 30 días, contados a partir de la recepción del producto en
cualquiera de los sitios donde pueda hacerse efectiva la garantía.
4.- El lugar donde puede adquirir partes, componentes, consumibles y accesorios, así como hacer válida esta garantía es
en cualquiera de las direcciones mencionadas posteriormente.
ESTA PÓLIZA NO SE HARA EFECTIVA EN LOS SIGUIENTES CASOS:
1.- Cuando el producto ha sido utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales.
2.- Cuando el producto no ha sido operado de acuerdo con el instructivo de uso.
3.- Cuando el producto ha sido alterado o reparado por personal no autorizado por Electrónica Steren S.A. de C.V.
El consumidor podrá solicitar que se haga efectiva la garantía ante la propia casa comercial donde adquirió el producto.
Si la presente garantía se extraviara, el consumidor puede recurrir a su proveedor para que le expida otra póliza de
garantía, previa presentación de la nota de compra o factura respectiva.

instruction manual to prevent any damage. Put it away in a safe
place for future references.

FEATURES
The speaker selectors have been designed to let you add additional
speakers around your home or ofce and turn them on and off without
purchasing additional ampliers. The speaker selectors have the
following features:
- Ability to add up 6 speaker pairs to your ampliers
- Left and right “commons” are isolated to work with all types of
ampliers
- Protection for amplier and unit
- Small size to t with any system
- No power required for operation.
- Easy installation.
- Can handle up to 100 watts amplier power with unique protection
circuitry

CONTROLS
1. Speakers 1 through 4. Press button to select desired speaker.
Orange indicator will show which speakers are active.
2. Protection Switch. Press to activate impedance protection to
protect your amplier from low speaker impedance. The white
indicator shows that the protection is active.

3. Connection from amplier. Connect from the speaker output of your
amplier (100 watts Max).
4. Speaker Connections. Connect your speakers to these terminals

INSTALLATION
- It is recommended to use 18 or 16 AWG gauge stranded wire. For
runs longer than 50’, 14 gauge is recommended.
- You can mix 4, 6, 8 and 16 ohm speakers.
- Since speakers have different efciencies, more efcient speakers
will sound louder than less efcient speakers. Select your speakers to
have the same efciencies (a typical measurement is 90 db/watt).
- Keep the speaker wiring from running close to AC power wiring for
safety and to avoid any noise pick up.
Make sure power is turned off on your receiver or power amplier
before doing any wiring
- To make a connection, using a wire stripper, strip 3/8” of insulation
from the end of the wire. To avoid short circuits and possible amplier
damage, do not strip too much insulation from the wire.
- Tightly twist the end of the wire so that there are no frayed wires.
- Push the tab and simultaneously insert the wire into the correct hole.
- Verify that there are no wire frays.
Connect the wires from the speaker output from your receiver or
amplier to SEL-400 terminals marked AMPLIFIER. Pay attention
to polarity.
Next, connect the wires from each of the speakers to the
corresponding connection on SEL-400.

OPERATION
- It is recommended that you select only one speaker pair in the same
room you are in,for initial turn on.
- Turn on your amplier.
- Make sure sound is coming from both speakers.
Before you turn on additional speakers, read the information below.
Protection Circuit
When you have more than one speaker pair selected (see chart on
page 7).
This circuit provides additional impedance if your amplier can’t
manage low impedances. In addition, the protection circuit has an
electronic circuit
breaker to automatically turn off if the volume level is excessive. It will
automatically reset when the overload is removed and/or the volume
is reduced. Do not turn protection on when you want to listen to just
one speaker pair, especially at loud levels.
Refer to your amplier’s user manual or on the rear panel of the
amplier to determine the minimal speaker impedance that your
amplier can handle.

Calculating Impedance
If you want to calculate the impedance of speakers with different
impedance here is how to do it.
Parallel Impedance is equal to (R1 x R2) / (R1 + R2).
Say you had a 6 ohm and an 8 ohm speaker. The parallel impedance
if you select these two speakers would be: (6 x 8) / (6+ 8) =48 / 14 =
3.4 ohms.
If the calculated impedance is less than the minimal amplier allowed
impedance, turn the PROTECTION mode on.

WARRANTY
This Steren product is warranted under normal usage against defects in workmanship and materials to the original pur-
chaser for one year from the date of purchase.
CONDITIONS
1.- This warranty card with all the required information, invoice or purchase ticket, product box or package, and product,
must be presented when warranty service is required.
2.- If the product stills on the warranty time, the company will repair it free of charge.
3.- The repairing time will not exceed 30 natural days, from the day the claim was received.
4.- Steren sell parts, components, consumables and accessories to customer, as well as warranty service, at any of the
addresses mentioned later.
THIS WARRANTY IS VOID IN THE NEXT CASES:
If the product has been damaged by an accident, acts of God, mishandling, leaky batteries, failure to follow enclosed
instructions, improper repair by unauthorized personnel, improper safe keeping, among others.
a) The consumer can also claim the warranty service in the purchase establishment.
b) If you lose the warranty card, we can reissue it, if you show the invoice or purchase ticket.
