1. Read fully the STIHL TS-700 Instruction manual
provided.
2. Use the necessary PPE (Personnel Protective
Equipment).
• Safety glasses
• Face shield.
• Hearing protection.
• Coveralls

• Sturdy Gloves.
• Steel Capped Boots.
• Respiratory protection where necessary.
3. Cutting Wheels
o Inspect the cutting wheel prior to installation and
use.
o Discard any cracked or damaged cutting wheels.
o IMPORTANT: Use the correct wheel for the job.
3.1. Composite Resin Abrasive Wheels (to
EN12413).
• Check the label.
• Check whether for Wet or Dry cutting.
• Even if suitable for wet you may need to
discard after use each day.
• Depending on the manufacturer wheels may
be suitable for: e.g. Asphalt, Concrete,
Stone, soft Steel
3.2. Diamond Abrasive Wheels (to EN13236).
• Check the label.
• Suitable for Wet cutting only.
• Depending on the manufacturer wheels may
be suitable for: e.g. Asphalt, Concrete,
Stone, Abrasive concrete, Fresh concrete,
Clay Brick, Clay Pipe.
3.3. Cutting Wheel Specs.
• Suitable for Spindle diameter of 20mm
• Suitable for speeds > 5080 RPM
• OD - 350mm (max cut depth 116 mm).
• Machine is supplied with thrust washers of
118mm. Do not change these.
4. Fueling up
4.1. Move away from the work area.
4.2. Refuel in a well ventilated area.
4.3. Use only your hands to remove the fuel cap (i.e.
no tools).
4.4. Clean any spilled petrol off the machine before
starting.
4.5. Use the correct fuel (2-strike unleaded 50:1
mixture).
5. Carrying the machine
5.1. with your right hand on the top bar,
5.2. the cutting wheel should face behind (exhaust
away from your body)
6. Transporting your Machine
6.1. Always transport with blade removed.
6.2. Drain fuel and run machine until it stops.
6.3. Tie down/restrain to prevent movement.

Abbreviated Guide to: Starting the STIHL TS-700.
1. Press Trigger Lockout (1) and Trigger (2) simultaneously.
2. Hold Both triggers down. Move the Master control lever (3) to START and hold in
position.
3. Release the throttle lockout and trigger (1),(2). Then the master control (3) which will
remain in the START position.
4. Set the Choke (4) to the appropriate position.
4.1. Full Choke for a cold engine.
4.2. ½Choke for a cooling Engine (i.e. off for > 5 minutes)
4.3. No choke if engine still warm (i.e. off for < 5 minutes).
5. Press the decompression button (5).
6. Press the bulb of the manual fuel pump (6) 7-10 times.
7. Place the machine on the ground (ensure the cut-off wheel cannot touch
the ground or any objects. Ensure all other personnel are clear of the
machine).
8. Ensure you have a firm footing.
9. Press the machine firmly against the ground, use your left hand with
thumb wrapped around the upper handle. Lock your elbow.
10. Place your right foot in the rear handle.
11. Pull the starter grip slowly (with your right hand) until you feel it
engage – then give it a brisk strong pull -don’t pull the rope out all
the way.
12. Do not let the rope snap back, but guide it into the housing.
After the engine has turned over the first time.
13. Set the Choke (4) to the ½Choke position.
14. Press the decompression button (5).
15. Continue cranking.
When the engine successfully starts.
16. Squeeze the throttle and let the engine run for 30s.
17. Set the Choke (4) to the OFF position.
