Venting Options
• Before installing the rangehood, please check and ensure that the two
levers on the motor are set to the desired venting mode (Fig. 4): “Ducting”
or “Recirculating”.
• Steam can be vented to the outside (Fig.5, outdoor ducting mode), if you
are able to knock a hole in the ceiling or wall for the exhaust ducting pipe
(not supplied). Alternatively, you can vent the steam back into the kitchen
(Fig.6, recirculating mode), using the odour-absorbing charcoal lters
(already installed).
Installation Height
This rangehood is designed for top-mounted installation in a cabinet above a
cooking appliance. Mounting instructions follow on page 14.
For optimum performance, the rangehood should be installed at a distance of
65-75cm from the cooking surface (Fig.3). (See Fig. 14, page 14, for detailed
minimum distance requirements.)

Outdoor Ducting Mode
This is the recommended extraction mode wherever possible for optimum
performance. If you are able to install an exhaust duct (not supplied) to
vent the air outside and operate your rangehood in outdoor ducting mode,
proceed as follows:
• Unscrew the 80mm fascia rail which is already
installed on the rangehood (Fig. 7).
• Using the same screws, attach the 40mm
fascia rail supplied in the box.
• If you haven’t already done so, remove the alu-
minium mesh lters from the underside of the
rangehood (Fig. 8) and set the two levers in the centre of the motor housing
to the “Ducting” position (see Fig.4).
• Remove the charcoal lters by turning anticlockwise (Fig.9). The charcoal
lters are not required for outdoor ducting mode.

• Clip in the plastic front vent cover over the vent holes on the front of the
rangehood.
• Install the ue outlet adaptor to the top of the rangehood.
• Install the ducting pipe (not supplied) to the outlet on the top of the
rangehood and vent to the outside. We recommend using a ducting pipe
with a diameter of 120mm.
• When installing the rangehood in external ducting mode, you can cover the
front air outlet with the supplied front vent cover (Fig. 10).
Installation (Cont.)

13
Recirculating Mode
This mode is the default setting. The rangehood will operate with carbon lters
and vent the air back into the kitchen.
To ensure that the mode is correct, remove the aluminium mesh lters (see Fig.
8) and check that the two levers are in the “Recirculating” position (see Fig. 4).
Charcoal Filters
• If you intend to use the rangehood with the air recirculating back into the
kitchen, it is important that you use the charcoal lters to absorb some of the
cooking odours.
• The rangehood comes supplied with the charcoal lters already installed.
However, before you install it into your kitchen cabinet, make sure to remove
any adhesive transit support tape (if any) on the carbon lters (Fig. 11).
Removing and Installing Charcoal Filters
• To remove the charcoal lters, rst remove the aluminium mesh lters (see
Fig.8), then turn anticlockwise and pull down as shown in Fig. 12.
• To install new charcoal lters, rst remove the aluminium mesh lters
(Fig.8), then align the charcoal lters with the centre of the motors, push
upwards and turn clockwise (Fig. 13) until they lock into place.

Top-Mounting in a Cabinet
• This rangehood is designed for top-mounted installation in a cabinet above
a cooking appliance. For optimum performance, the rangehood should be
installed at a distance of 65-75cm from the cooking surface (Fig. 14). The
minimum required distance is 600mm from an electric cooktop and 650mm
from a gas cooktop.
Fig. 14
• Determine where in the top cabinet you want to install the rangehood, then
drill 4holes of Ø4mm at the bottom of the hanging board of your cabinet
(Fig. 15).
• You will also need to make an opening for the power cord and plug and, if
the rangehood is to be ducted to the outside, a hole for the ducting.

Other Useful Information
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning the Rangehood Exterior
Wipe the exterior surface of the rangehood regularly using a soft cloth
moistened with a household solvent such as methylated spirits, or with a
sponge dampened with water and a little non-abrasive liquid detergent.
Cleaning the Filters
The aluminium mesh lters must be cleaned regularly in order to prevent a re
hazard. Regular cleaning also ensures better efciency, as grease and grime
can impede the airow. We recommend cleaning them at least every two
months.
• Push in the plastic opening latch and take the lters out of their frames (Fig.17).
• Wash the lters thoroughly in warm, soapy water. For best results, leave
them to soak, wash and rinse with warm water. The aluminium mesh lters
may also be cleaned in a dishwasher. After cleaning, leave the lters to dry
completely before reinstalling them into the appliance.
WARNING: Never reinstall the lters when they are still wet.
NOTE: The aluminum panels may slightly change colour after several
washes. This is not a fault and no cause for concern. It does not affect
performance and does not warrant replacement of these parts.
CAUTION!
• Before cleaning the rangehood or carrying out maintenance, make sure
the operation and light switches are set to the “ 0 ” position and the
rangehood is disconnected from the power supply.
• It is important to clean the lters regularly as oil and food residues can
become a re hazard.
• Never use a steam cleaner to clean any part of the rangehood.

19
Charcoal Filters
If you are using the rangehood with the air recirculating back into the room,
the charcoal lters which were supplied with the rangehood would have
already been installed.
A charcoal lter absorbs cooking odours and must be changed regularly. How
often you need to change the lters depends on your usage. We recommend
changing them every three to six months. An activated charcoal lter cannot
be washed or recycled; it must be replaced with a new one.
To obtain replacement lters, contact our after sales support centre and
arrange for purchase (see page 20 for details).
NOTE: The suction power will be lowered with charcoal lters installed.
To remove and/or install new lters, please see page 13.
Replacing a Light Bulb
If the light bulb needs replacing, proceed as follows:
• Slide out the front panel for easier access and remove the two aluminium
mesh lters (Fig. 18).
• Carefully turn the bulb in anticlockwise direction and remove (Fig. 19).
• Replace the bulb with one of the same type and wattage (E14, 28W), as
illustrated (Fig. 20).
