Video-Cysto-Urethroscope. All essential details

proceeding to work with the instrument. Keep this

It is recommended to check the suitability of
the product for the intended procedure prior

3.1 Zweckbestimmung
Das flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop
11272 V/VU dient in Verbindung mit dem Monitor
8402 ZX zur Inspektion des unteren Harntraktes.
Videoendoskope sind Anwenderteile, die nur
mit den von KARL STORZ dafür vorgesehenen
Versorgungsgeräten verwendet werden dürfen.
3.2 Kontraindikationen
Es sind keine Kontraindikationen bekannt, die
sich direkt auf das Produkt beziehen. Das flexible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop darf nicht
angewendet werden, wenn nach Meinung eines
verantwortlichen Arztes eine solche Anwendung
eine Gefährdung des Patienten hervorrufen würde,
z. B. aufgrund des Allgemeinzustandes des
Patienten, oder die endoskopische Methode als
solche kontraindiziert ist.
3.3 Qualifikation des Anwenders
Das flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop von
KARLSTORZ darf nur von Personen eingesetzt
werden, die über eine entsprechende medizinische
Qualifikation verfügen und mit der Technik der
flexiblen Cystoskopie vertraut sind. Die in dieser
Anleitung gegebenen Hinweise dienen lediglich
der korrekten Hand habung und Aufbereitung des
flexiblen CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskops. Sie
sind nicht zur Einführung in die Technik der flexiblen
Cystoskopie geeignet.
3 Normal use
3.1 Intended use
The flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope
11272 V/VU is used in conjunction with the monitor
8402 ZX for inspection of the lower urinary tract.
Videoscopes are applied parts, which should only
be used with supply units specified for this purpose
by KARL STORZ.
3.2 Contraindications
There are no known contraindications relating
directly to the product. The flexible CMOS Video-
Cysto-Urethroscope must not be used if, in the
opinion of the responsible physician, such an
application would endanger the patient, e.g. due to
the patient’s general condition, or if the endoscopic
method as such is contraindicated.
3.3 User qualification
TheKARLSTORZflexibleCMOSVideo-Cysto-
Urethroscope may only be used by persons with
an appropriate medical qualification and who are
acquainted with the flexible cystoscopy technique.
The information given in these instructions only
serves to instruct in the correct handling and
preparation of the Flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroscope. It is not intended as an introduction
to the technique of flexible cystoscopy.

3.1 Przewidziane zastosowanie
Giętki wideocystouretroskop CMOS 11272 V/VU w

dolnych dróg moczowych.
Wideoendoskopy są częściami systemu, które
można stosować wyłącznie z urządzeniami
zasilającymi przewidzianymi do tego celu przez
firmę KARLSTORZ.
3.2 Przeciwwskazania
Nie są obecnie znane żadne przeciwwskazania
odnoszące się bezpośrednio do produktu.
Giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS nie należy
stosować, gdy zgodnie z opinią doświadczonego
lekarza jego użycie mogłoby stanowić zagrożenie
dla pacjenta, np. ze względu na ogólny stan
pacjenta, lub jeśli przeciwwskazane jest
przeprowadzenie danej procedury endoskopowej.
3.3 Kwalifikacje użytkownika
Giętki wideocystouretroskop CMOS
firmy KARLSTORZ może być stosowany tylko przez
osoby, które posiadają odpowiednie kwalifikacje
medyczne i znajomość techniki giętkiej cystoskopii.

Please read this manual carefully and follow the
instructions exactly. Thewords Warning, Caution,
and Note convey special meanings. Wherever
they are used in this manual, they should be
carefully reviewed to ensure the safe and effective
operation of this product. To further emphasize
the words Warning, Caution and Note, they are
preceded by a pictogram.
3WARNING: A Warning indicates that the
personal safety of the patient or physician
may be involved. Disregarding a Warning
could result in injury to the patient or
physician.
2CAUTION: A Caution indicates that
particular service procedures or safety
precautions must be followed to avoid any
damage to the product.

4.1 Safety precautions
The flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope
must be used according to the recognized medical
rules and procedures of endoscopy.
NOTE: The patient leakage current limit of the
CF application part may be exceeded when CF
application parts (application on heart) are used in
combination with other BF application parts. In this
case, the reduction of the patient leakage current
should be effected using only CF application parts
as far as this is possible.
NOTE: The flexible endoscope does not offer
any electric insulation against high frequency
(HF) currents. Protection against high frequency
currents should be ensured through the use
of correct HF instruments. Please read the
instructions for use supplied with the HF
application part for more information.

4.1 Sicherheitsmaßnahmen
Der Einsatz des flexiblen CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroskops muss in Übereinstimmung mit
den für endoskopische Verfahren anerkannten
medizinischen Regeln und Verfahrens weisen der
Endoskopie erfolgen.
HINWEIS: Bei der Verwendung von CF-Anwen-
dungsteilen (Anwendung am Herzen) in
Kombination mit weiteren BF-Anwendungsteilen
können die Patientenableitstromgrenzwerte des
CF-Anwendungsteils überschritten werden. In
diesem Fall sollten zur Reduktion des Patienten-
ableitstroms möglichst nur CF-An wendungsteile
verwendet werden.
HINWEIS: Das flexible Endoskop bietet keine
elektrische Isolierung gegen Hochfrequenz (HF)-
Span nungen. Der Schutz gegen HF-Spannung
ist über das verwendete HF-Instrumentarium
zu gewährleisten. Bitte hierzu die Gebrauchs-
informationen des HF-Anwendungsteils beachten.

4.1 Środki bezpieczeństwa
Giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS należy
używać zgodnie z powszechnie uznanymi dla
procedur endoskopowych zasadami wiedzy
medycznej i metodami stosowanymi w endoskopii.
WSKAZÓWKA: zastosowanie części typu CF
(zastosowania na sercu) i w połączeniu z innymi

WARNING: The instructions ‘Cleaning,
Disinfection, Care and Sterilization of KARLSTORZ
Instruments’ must be followed. There the
procedures for cleaning, disinfection and
sterilization are explained in detail.
WARNING: Damage to the flexible CMOS Video-
Cysto-Urethroscope and injury to the patient or
user resulting from incorrect operation are not
covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
WARNING: Always unplug the supply unit of the

flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscopes under
any conditions.
CAUTION: The maximum permissible temperature
for decontamination, sterilization, transport and
storage is 65 °C.
CAUTION: Do not allow any live components or
instruments to come into contact with the Flexible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope.
CAUTION: Do not expose the flexible CMOS
Video-Cysto-Urethroscope to direct sunlight or

samym przed pierwszym użyciem oraz
przed każdym kolejnym użyciem musi być
poddany dekontaminacji.
3OSTRZEŻENIE: przed każdym użyciem
należy sprawdzić nienaganny stan
giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS,
a także stosowanego w połączeniu
z nim wyposażenia. Zabronione jest
stosowanie uszkodzonego giętkiego
wideocystouretroskopu CMOS lub
uszkodzonych akcesoriów.
5.9 Obsługa

Den Schaft des exiblen CMOS Video-
Cysto-Urethroskops nicht ziehen, spannen
oder verdrehen.
2VORSICHT: Der Schaft des exiblen CMOS
Video-Cysto-Urethroskops darf keinesfalls
geknickt oder in zu enge Schlingen gelegt
werden. Die exiblen CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroskope vorzugsweise hängend
aufbewahren oder sterilisiert in einem speziell
dafür ausgelegten Tray für Sterilisation und
Aufbewahrung (39405 AS).
3WARNUNG: Kein Gleitmittel auf die Linse
bringen, um eine Trübung des Bildes
und damit Gefahren für den Patienten zu
vermeiden!
Verwenden Sie ein wasserlösliches Gleitmittel
(keine Silikone) für den distalen Bereich des
Einführschafts. Eine Liste freigegebener Gleitmittel
finden Sie unter www.karlstorz.com.
Falls das Bild im Einsatz ausfällt, gestört oder
verschmiert wird oder im Allgemeinen die Sicht
beeinträchtigt wird, die Abwinkelungsmechanik in
die neutrale Stellung bringen und den Schaft des
flexiblen CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskops langsam
aus dem Körper herausziehen.
5.10.2 Handling the shaft
2CAUTION: Do not carry the exible CMOS
Video-Cysto-Urethroscope by the shaft.
Do not pull, clamp or twist the shaft of the
Flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope.
2CAUTION: The shaft of the exible CMOS
Video-Cysto-Urethroscope must never be
kinked or coiled up too tightly. It is best
to store the exible CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroscopes in a suspended position or
to keep them sterilized in a tray specically
designed for sterilizing and storage
(39405 AS).
3WARNING: Do not apply lubricant to the
lens, to avoid clouding the image and
thus posing a risk to the patient!
Use a suitable water-soluble lubricant (no silicone)
for the distal section of the shaft. For lubricants
approved by KARLSTORZ, please see
www.karlstorz.com.
If, during use, the image fails, is disturbed, or
becomes blurred, or if vision in general is impeded,
put the deflection mechanism into the neutral
position and slowly pull the shaft of the flexible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope out of the
patient’s body.
5.10.1 Korrektes Halten

Grip the handle of the flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroscope in your left or right hand, as shown
in the picture. With this kind of control grip, the
Flexible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope can be
operated with one hand.
5.10.2 Zasady posługiwania się
płaszczem

CMOS nie wolno przenosić, trzymając
za płaszcz. Nie należy naciągać,
napinać ani skręcać płaszcza giętkiego
wideocystouretroskopu CMOS.

żadnym wypadku nie może być załamany
ani układany w zbyt ciasne pętle.
Zaleca się przechowywanie giętkich

3OSTRZEŻENIE: nie wolno nanosić

odginania należy ustawić urządzenie w pozycji
neutralnej i wyprowadzić powoli płaszcz giętkiego
wideocystouretroskopu CMOS z ciała pacjenta.
5.10.1 Prawidłowy sposób trzymania
Rękojeść giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS
trzymać w lewej lub prawej ręce, według ilustracji.

mehr über den Ablenkhebel gesteuert
werden kann (Klemmung usw.) oder
sonstige Fehler an der Abwinkelungs-
mechanik auftreten, darf das exible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop nicht
weiterverwendet werden.
3WARNUNG: Falls während einer
Anwendung am Patienten eine
Funktionsstörung des exiblen CMOS
Video-Cysto-Urethroskops auftreten sollte,
die Anwendung sofort abbrechen. Die
distale Spitze des exiblen CMOS Video-
Cysto-Urethroskops in die neutrale, nicht
abgewinkelte Position bringen und das
exible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroskop
langsam und vorsichtig aus dem Patienten
entfernen.
2VORSICHT: Der spürbare Widerstand
beim Abwinkeln der distalen Spitze mit Hilfe
des Ablenkhebels nimmt mit dem Grad der
Abwinkelung zu. Die Abwinkelung sanft und
behutsam ohne schnelle oder ruckartige
Bewegungen bis zum Anschlag steuern.
5.10.3 Handling the deflection
mechanism

CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope into the
patient, the distal tip must be in a straight,
non-deected position.
3WARNING: The deection lever must
never be operated with force or abruptly to
avoid injury to the patient or damaging the
device.
3WARNING: Before removing the exible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope from the
patient, the distal tip must be put into the
neutral position, as otherwise injuries to the
patient or damage to the instrument may
occur.
3WARNING: If the distal tip can no longer
be properly controlled (sticking etc.) via
the deection lever, or if the deection
mechanism develops any other fault, the
exible CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope
must not be used.
3WARNING: If a functional defect occurs
with the exible CMOS Video-Cysto-
Urethroscope during use on the patient,
discontinue use immediately. Put the
distal tip of the exible CMOS Video-
Cysto-Urethroscope into the neutral, non-
deected position and remove the exible
CMOS Video-Cysto-Urethroscope slowly
and carefully from the patient.
2CAUTION: The resistance that can be felt
when deecting the tip using the deection
lever increases as the angle of deection
increases. Actuate the deection gently
and carefully, without any sudden or jerky
movements, as far as the limit stop.
5.10.3 Zasady posługiwania się

być w pozycji wygiętej.
3OSTRZEŻENIE: dźwignią odchylania
nie można w żadnym wypadku poruszać
gwałtownie lub szarpnięciami, gdyż może to
prowadzić do zranienia badanego pacjenta
oraz uszkodzenia urządzenia!
3OSTRZEŻENIE: przed wyprowadzeniem
giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS
z ciała pacjenta, końcówka dystalna musi
się znajdować w pozycji wyprostowanej. W
przeciwnym razie może dojść do zranienia
pacjenta lub uszkodzenia przyrządu.
3OSTRZEŻENIE: jeżeli końcówką
dystalną nie można sterować za pomocą
dźwigni odchylania (zakleszczenie itp.)
lub jeśli wystąpią inne błędy mechanizmu
odginania, należy przerwać korzystanie z
giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS.
3OSTRZEŻENIE: jeśli podczas stosowania
dojdzie do zakłócenia funkcjonowania
giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu
CMOS, należy niezwłocznie przerwać
stosowanie. Ustawić końcówkę dystalną
giętkiego wideocystouretroskopu CMOS
w neutralnej, wyprostowanej pozycji
oraz powoli i ostrożnie usunąć giętki
wideocystouretroskop CMOS z ciała
pacjenta.
2UWAGA: zauważalny opór przy odginaniu
końcówki dystalnej za pomocą dźwigni
odchylania wzrasta wraz ze stopniem
odgięcia. Odginanie należy kontrolować
delikatnie i ostrożnie, bez szybkich lub
szarpanych ruchów, aż do zatrzymania.
