TheRLE202isdesignedtorotateinaclockwisedirectiononly.Rotatingthebrushinacounter‐clockwise
directionwillcausethebrushtobecomedisconnectedandstuckinsidethevent.
Useacordlessadjustableclutchdrillatalowsettingtoavoidbreakingtheextensionrods.
FailuretousetheDryer/BloweradaptercouldcausedamagetotheRLE202toolanddryer.
Cleandryervent,backofdryerandsurroundingarea3to4timesperyear.
Alwaysattachrodstogetherwithtwopairsofplierstoensuretheyaretight.Aftertightening,useelectricalor
ducttapetowraptherodconnectionssotheydon’tcomeloosewhilecleaningtheduct.
SAFETYTIPS
Donotuseexcessiveforcewhenpushingthebrushthroughthevent.Thiscancausepersonalinjury,damageto
theventormaybreakthebrushoffinthevent.Addonerodatatimeasyoupushthebrushintothevent.
AlwaysattachtheDryerBlowerAdapterwhenusingthedryertoblowthelintoutoftheventwhilerotary
brushing.Theadapterwillkeepthebrushfromdamagingthedryer.
Eyeprotectionandaduskmaskisrecommended.
INITIALINSPECTION
Checkmaterialusedfortheventing.Ifpossible,youshouldreplacefoilorwhitevinylwithrigidorsemi‐rigidall
Metalventing.
TheRLE202willcleanalltypesofventing.Usecarewhencleaningfoilorwhitevinylvents.
Turndryeroninheatmodeandcheckoutsidetoseeifthereisairflowing.
Ifthereisascreenovertheoutsidevent,removeanddiscard.Donotuseascreen,itwillcauseabackupoflint.
IFVENTHASNOAIRFLOW
Turnoffdryer.
AttachBlockageRemovalTooltotheendoftheextensionrodandtightenwithnut.
Inserttoolinventandturnclockwisebyhandwhilemovingbackandforth.Ifneeded,addmorerodsuntil
blockageisreached.Slowlyremovetoolwhileturningclockwise.
Turndryerbackonandcheckforairflow.(Note:Ifthereisstillnoairflow,checkductforstructuralissues.)
IFVENTHASAIRFLOW
Removeexteriorvent,louvers,ortapeopentrapdoorsothebrushwillnotdamagetheoutsidewhenitreaches
theendofthevent.
CLEANINGTHEDRYERDUCT–OPTION1(ENTERINGTHEDUCTFROMTHEOUTSIDEUSINGSHOP‐VACINSIDE)
Makesuredryerisoffandunplugged.Moveitawayfromthewall.
RemovetheventhosefromthebackofthedryerandattachtheVacuumAdaptertotheventhose.Useduct
tapetoholdtheVacuumAdapterinplace.
ConnectanelectricalLeafBlowerorShop‐VactotheVacuumAdapterandturniton.Iftheventhosecollapses,
turnofftheShop‐Vacimmediately.Therecouldbestructuraldamageinthevent.

FeedtheAugerBrushassemblythroughtheventfromtheinsideturningclockwisewhilemovingbackandforth.
Ifneeded,addmorerodsuntiltheendoftheventisreached.Tightenrodswithpliersandtapetogether.
Afterreachingtheend,removetheVacuumAdapterandvisuallyinspectthatthebrushhasreachedtheend.If
not,attachtheadapterandcontinuetofeedthebrushthroughthevent.
CLEANINGTHEDRYERDUCT–OPTION2(ENTERINGTHEDUCTFROMTHEINSIDEUSINGSHOP‐VACINSIDE)
Removetheoutsideventlouversorclipopensothebrushcanslidetotheendoftheoutsidevent.
SlidetheextensionrodthroughthesmallholeintheVacuumAdapterthenattachtheAugerBrush.
AttachtheVacuumAdaptertotheventhose.UseducttapetoholdtheVacuumAdapterinplace.
TurnontheShop‐VacandbeginpushingtheAugerBrushthroughtheventwithaslowbackandforthmotion.
Addmoreextensionrodsasneeded.Makesuretotightenproperlyandusetapesotheydonotcomeapart.
Whenfinishedcarefullyremovethebrushandrodsfromthevent.

AttachtheShop‐Vactotheoutsideofthevent.
FeedtheAugerBrushassemblythroughtheventfromtheinsideturningclockwisewhilemovingbackandforth.
Ifneeded,addmorerodsuntiltheendoftheventisreached.
CLEANINGTHEDRYERDUCT–OPTION4(ENTERINGTHEDUCTFROMTHEOUTSIDEUSINGDRYERAIR)
InserttheDryerAdapterintotheventholeonthebackofthedryer.
TheDryerAdapterpreventstheAugerBrushfromdamagingtheDryerifpushedtofarthroughthevent.
PlacetheventductovertheDryerAdapterandducttapeinplace.
FeedtheAugerBrushassemblythroughtheventfromtheoutsideturningclockwisewhilemovingbackand
forth.Ifneeded,addmorerodsuntiltheendoftheventisreached.
RemovetheAugerBrushassemblywhencomplete.
RemovetheDryerAdapterandre‐attachtheventhose
CLEANINGTHEDRYERLINTTRAP
Pullbrushinanupwardmotiontoremovelintfromtrapareaandvacuumlintfromthetrapwhilecleaning.
Caution–Donotpushlintdownintothefilterhousing.Pushinglintintothefilterhousingcouldclogthedryer
blowerassemblyorflowintotheheatercausingfire.Operatedryerandcheckairflowtomakesuredryeris
operatingproperly.Bepreparedforresiduallinttoblowthroughthedryer.Makesurewhenre‐installingthedryer
thattransitionductingissecureandnotkinked.
CLEANINGUNDERTHEREFRIGERATOR
UseLintBrushwithExtensionRodsdustbyhandfromunderandbehindtherefrigerator.
CLEANINGGUTTERDOWNSPOUTS
UsetheBlockageRemovalTooltocleartheGutters.
Insertthetoolfromthebottomandfeedtheassemblythroughtheventfromthebottomturningclockwise
whilemovingbackandforth.Ifneeded,addmorerodsuntilthetopofthegutterisreached.
CLEANINGBASEBOARDHEATERS
MoveLintTrapBrushoverheaterfinswhilerotatingthebrushclockwise.
Useavacuumtocollectthedustasyoumovethebrush.
Presslightlyonthefinswiththebrushtopreventthemfrombending.
