Chapter 1. Overview
1.1. Network Camera Introd ction
CAM5130 is a professional IP network speed-dome amera apable of making 360
degree ontinuous rotation at 0.15 to 360 degrees per se ond, ensuring dire t and
a urate target positioning. CAM5130 uses Internet Proto ol (IP) to transmit video
streams and ontrol signals over networks, and is apable of operating over both
LANs and WANs. CAM5130 provides a omplete budget- ons ious remote
surveillan e solution that is ultra lear and highly integrated. CAM5130 ombines a
user-friendly interfa e and simplified installation with a powerful feature set,
in luding Motion Dete tion and Tampering Dete tion to provide users an easy
upgrade path to new digital surveillan e system in a virtual environment. These
highlights make CAM5130 an ideal hoi e for environments that require remote
surveillan e or video transmission.

Network Camera Hardware Installation
Before the network amera is onfigured:
1. Install the amera in a suitable spot. The amera should have an
unobstru ted view of the area to be surveyed.
2. Conne t the amera to a power sour e. CAM5130s an a ept power
from a power adapter or from Power over Ethernet enabled swit hes.
3. Conne t the amera to a swit h using an Ethernet able. The Ethernet
port is lo ated on the rear of the amera.

Chapter 2. Connecting to the
Network Camera
This se tion demonstrates how to onne t to the network amera through two
methods:
• Web Browser – A simple web-based interfa e. Internet Explorer is the
re ommended web browser for use with Surveon network ameras, and
our examples will be from this browser. Usage on other browsers will
be similar.
• RTSP Player – These in lude ommon streaming media players, su h as
RealPlayer or Quicktime Player. These players an provide live view of
the amera using the Real-Time Streaming Proto ol (RTSP).

2.1. Connecting with a Web Browser
To onne t to the Network Camera with a web browser:
1. Laun h the web browser (Mi rosoft ® Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher is
re ommended).
2. Enter the IP address of the network amera in the address bar of your
browser and press enter. The IP address an be obtained using the
Surveon IP Utility, or if your network does not have DHCP servi e, the
default IP address is 192.168.88.10.
3. The amera will start the web interfa e with a live-view page. Cli k
the Login button at the top of this page.
4. The amera will prompt for a user name and password. The default
user name and password is admin/admin. Enter your user name and
password, and li k OK to login. If this is your first time a essing the
amera, please read the subse tions to set up a new password and/or
install A tiveX, otherwise the live feed from the network amera will
be displayed in your web browser.

Logging into the System for the First Time
If this is the first time that the network amera is being a essed, the
amera will prompt you to hange the administrator password after your first
login. Cli k Okay
1. Cli k OK when informed of the need to hange your password. This will
ause a Configure A min Passwor popup to display.
2. In the Ol passwor fiel , fill in the old password (default is a min).
3. In the New passwor and Confirm new passwor field, fill in the new
password.
4. Cli k OK to hange the password. If at any time you lose this password,
performing a hard reset of the amera will restore the password ba k
to a min.

Installing Active X Components in Internet Explorer
You may be prompted to install A tiveX® omponents when a essing the
network amera’s Live View page; li k Yes when prompted. You will be able
to a ess the amera after installation is ompleted. Under Windows, this
a tion may require administrator privileges.
If the dialog box suggests that you are not allowed to install A tiveX
omponents, try resolving the problem using the following steps:
1. In Internet Explorer, open Tools> Internet Options> Se urity. Cli k the
Custom level button.
2. Sear h for Downloa signe ActiveX controls. Under this heading sele t
Prompt and then li k OK.
3. Continue installing the A tive X omponents.
4. After installing A tiveX, go to Tools> Internet Options> Tr sted
Websites> Sites and add the IP Address of the amera.

Logging O t of the System
Logging off of the amera an be performed by losing the browser window.
Users an also hoose to li k the Logo t link lo ated at the top of the
s reen.
Using the Help Interface
While using the web interfa e, you may li k on the Help link lo ated under
the title bar. This will bring up a pop-up ontaining the IP Camera Help
manual. This provides simple explanation of the amera settings, and will
automati ally open to the page relevant to your urrent s reen.
The help manual is organized so that it mat hes the system menus, with
se tions orresponding to ea h settings menu and the Live-view window.

2.2. Connecting with an RTSP Player
Surveon ameras support onne tions through RTSP Media Players su h as
Real Player and QuickTime Player.
1. Laun h Real Player or Qui kTime Player；
2. Sele t File> Open URL, to open a URL dialog box.
3. Enter the amera URL in the address bar.
Note: The format for RTSP is: rtsp://<IP Address>/<A ess>, where
<A ess> an be found at Settings> Network> Port Settings> RTSP
Setting. By default the <A ess> value should be stream1 and
stream2.
4. Cli k OK, the stream should begin playing.
Connecting with a Mobile Device RTSP Player
In order to a ess streaming video on 3GPP mobile devi es, please make sure
the network amera is already online and onne ted to the Internet. In the IP
field under the IP A ress se tion of the window, enter the IP address of the
IP amera.
1. Change the settings under Settings> Video & A dio> Stream2 Setting
to 3GPP Mode
2. Laun h the RTSP Player on the 3GPP mobile devi e and enter the URL
address for the amera. The video should start playing.
Note: The format for RTSP is: rtsp://<IP Address>/<A ess>, where
<A ess> an be found at Settings> Network> Port Settings> RTSP
Setting. By default the <A ess> value should be stream1 and
stream2.

Chapter 3. Web Interface
3.1. Interface Layo t
This se tion demonstrates the layout of the network amera’s main interfa e.
The 5 main areas on the interfa e are:
1. Men Bar - The links on this bar allow users to toggle between live-
view and settings s reens, as well as logout and pull up the help menu.
2. Live View Controls - These ontrols allow users to onfigure the live
view streams and amera live view fun tionality.
3. PTZ Controls – These ontrols allow users to ontrol the amera’s
pan/tilt/zoom fun tions.
4. B tton Bar - These ontrols allow the user to qui kly a ess ommon
features su h as live view window resizing, video and still frame
apture, interfa e language, and audio ontrols.
5. Live View Window - This portion of the s reen displays the stream
sele ted in the Live View Control se tion of the web interfa e.

Control Descriptions
Control Description
Adj st Window Size: When li ked, the display window
size an be adjusted manually to fit the s reen. The
s reen size hanges ba k to the a tual image size
(resolution).
F ll-Screen: Goes to full-s reen when li ked; press
“ESC” to return to windowed view.
Image Capt re: When li ked, aptures the urrent
s reen as an image in a new pop-up window and saves it
in C:\Surveon\Recor . This lo ation an be hanged
under Settings> Recording> Recording Basic Settings.
The file name is set to “Camera
Name”+yyyymmdd_hhmmss (the Camera Name an be
hanged under Settings> General> Basic Settings).
Man al Record: When li ked, re ords the urrent live
video. Stops re ording when li ked again. The default
lo ation for storing the re ording is C:\Surveon\Recor .
This lo ation an be hanged under Settings>
Recording> Recording Basic Settings.
Play Back: Enables video playba k by linking to the to
the Recor File Management page when li ked.
A dio-In: Turned off by default; li king on e allows
audio to be transmitted from a lo al mi rophone to the
amera. Cli king again stops audio transmission.
Multiple users may a ess the live view page and
re eive audio from the amera, but only one user at
on e is allowed to send audio to the amera.
M te: Mutes the audio aptured by the amera when
li ked, un-mutes the audio when li ked again.
Vol me: Sets to the urrent omputer volume; Dragging
the slider adjusts the volume.

Control Description
Lang age: Sets the UI language. Available languages
in lude English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional
Chinese.
Streams: Allows users to hoose whi h amera stream
to view. The indi ator above the stream will turn light
green when the stream is sele ted.
Video Format: Sets the ompression format for the
urrent stream. Available formats are H.264, MPEG4,
and MJPEG.
Video Resol tion: Sets the resolution of the stream
urrently sele ted. Options are available for ea h
stream: D1 (704 x 480) , VGA (640 x 480), QVGA (320 x
240), for stream 1 and VGA (640 x 480), QVGA (320 x
240), QQVGA (160 x 120) for stream 2.
Digital Zoom: When li ked, a tivates digital zoom in
the urrent live-view stream. 2 options are available
when li ked:
Zoom In
Zoom O t
Digital O tp t: Sets the Digital Output to High, Low,
or Off. Default is Off.
Pan/Tilt Control: The dire tional buttons pan and tilt
the amera view in the dire tion pressed. The home
button at the enter returns the amera to the default
startup position when li ked.
A to Pan: When li ked, a tivates a ontinuous pan
fun tion, whi h will pan the amera between the
me hani al stops.

Stop Pan: When li ked, dea tivates the ontinuous
panning fun tion.
Optical Foc s: Cli king the Near button will move the
fo us point nearer, while li king on the Far button
will move the fo us point farther. Cli king on One Push
AF will automati ally dial in the orre t fo us for the
enter point.
Optical Zoom: Cli king the + button zooms in and
li king the – button zooms out. The total
magnifi ation is displayed in the box beside the
buttons.
Pan/Tilt Speed: The Pan and Tilt dropdowns define
the amount whi h the amera will pan or tilt when one
of the dire tional buttons is li ked in the Pan/Tilt
Control. There are 3 options: Slow, Normal and Fast.

3.2. Settings
Camera settings may be hanged by li king on the Settings link lo ated in
the title bar. This will bring up a menu list of onfiguration menus for all
major amera settings.
General
General setting menus are found under Settings> General.
Basic Settings
Basi settings may be a essed under General> Basic Settings. The following
settings an be made:
• Host Name: by default set to "model name + MAC address"; displays
on the enter of the main page. Users may repla e the default name
with a new name onsisting of alphanumeri hara ters, spa es and
the ":" hara ter.
• Camera Name: by default set to "Surveon + model name"; after
sele ting Camera Name” from Settings> Video & A dio> Basic
Settings, the Camera Name will show on the display. Users may
repla e the default name with a new name onsisting of alphanumeri
hara ters, spa es and the ":" hara ter.
• Power/Ethernet LED: turns on or off the power and Ethernet LEDs
indi ator on the rear of the amera.

• System Stat s LED: hanges the behavior of the status LED on the
front of the amera. There are four possible behaviors:
o LED on when camera is on - LED default on, flashing during
amera a ess.
o LED on d ring camera access - LED default off, flashing during
amera a ess
o LED off d ring camera access - LED default on, off during
amera a ess
o LED always off - LED always off
Cli k OK to save or Cancel to abort the hanges before you leave the page.

User Acco nt
The User A ount se tion, found under General> User Acco nt, ontrols the
user a ount information and privileges.
There are two pre- onfigured a ounts:
• admin - This is the default administration a ount, and annot be
deleted.
• g est - This is an a ount with only live view apability.
There are also two basi settings under user a ount settings:
• Enable access witho t login - Che king the he kbox will allow users
to view the amera stream without having to login. This option is
enabled by default.
• Maxim m n mber of sim ltaneo s viewers limited to - Enter a
number from 1 to 10 in this field to limit the number of users that an
view the live view stream for this amera. This option will only be
displayed on e you add an a ount.
Cli k OK to save or Cancel to abort the hanges before you leave the page.
