Dry battery/rechargeable battery recognition
Dry battery/rechargeable battery recognition takes place in the pager
every time during the power-on beep tone after inserting a new cell
(dry or rechargeable battery). This power-on procedure is only pos-
sible if the battery voltage is higher than a set threshold value. The
information whether a dry or rechargeable battery has been detected
is then stored in the pager. If the newly inserted cell (dry or recharge-
able battery) is nearly discharged, the pager cannot initially detect
whether it is a dry or rechargeable battery. It is therefore first assumed
that the cell inserted is a rechargeable battery and the charging cur-
rent is switched on. The cell voltage is then immediately measured
and monitored by the pager.
When the cell voltage has reached the threshold value, the pagers
switch-on procedure and the battery recognition (dry/rechargeable)
is activated. Once the cell is recognised, the information is stored in
the pager. If the cell inserted is a rechargeable battery, charging is
continued, if a dry battery is detected charging is stopped immedi-
ately.
Some types of receiver offer manual selection of ”Rechargeable/dry
cell battery”.

able power sources safely and correctly.
The range consists of rapid chargers (with regulated charge current)
desktop version and rapid chargers for cars.
Note
This charger is suitable for the recommended NiMH batteries.
Mech. fitting in (A)LG Standard
The pager is only inserted properly in the (A)LG Standard when the
charge LED lights green or orange. If the charge LED is red the
pager is not fitted correctly.

Batterie-/Akku-Erkennung
Die Batterie-/Akku-Erkennung im Pager erfolgt jeweils während des
Einschaltpieps und nach dem Einlegen einer neuen Zelle (Batterie
oder Akku). Diese Einschaltprozedur ist erst möglich, wenn die Bat-
terie- oder Akkuspannung grösser als ein Schwellenwert ist. Die Infor-
mation, ob Batterie oder Akku erkannt wurden, wird dann im Pager
gespeichert.
Ist die neu eingelegte Zelle (Batterie oder Akku) tief entladen, kann
der Pager zuerst nicht erkennen, ob es sich um eine Batterie oder
einen Akku handelt. Deswegen wird zuerst angenommen, dass die
eingelegte Zelle ein Akku ist und der Ladestrom wird eingeschaltet.
Unmittelbar danach wird die Spannung der Zelle des Pagers gemes-
sen und überwacht. Nach dem Erreichen der Schwellenspannung
wird die Einschaltprozedur des Pagers und somit auch die Batterie-/
Akku-Erkennung aktiviert. Ist die Zelle (Akku oder Batterie) erkannt,
wird die Information im Pager gespeichert. Handelt es sich bei der
eingelegten Zelle um einen Akkumulator, wird die Ladung fortgesetzt;
wurde sie als Batterie erkannt, wird die Ladung sofort gestoppt.
Einige Empfängertypen bieten eine manuelle Auswahl zwischen Akku
und Trockenbatterie an.

Reconnaissance de la source de courant
La reconnaissance de la pile ou de l’accumulateur intervient dans le
récepteur pendant le bip d’enclenchement après avoir mis une nou-
velle cellule d’alimentation dans le récepteur (pile ou accumulateur).
Ce processus d’enclenchement n’est possible que si la tension de
la pile ou de l’accumulateur est supérieure à un seuil minimum. L’in-
dication de la reconnaissance d’une pile ou d’un accumulateur est
mémorisée dans le récepteur.
Si la charge de la nouvelle cellule mise dans le récepteur (pile ou
accumulateur) est très basse, il est possible que le récepteur ne
détecte pas tout de suite s’il s’agit d’une pile ou d’un accumulateur.
En conséquence on part de l’idée que la cellule est un accumulateur,
et le courant de charge est enclenché. Après avoir atteint un seuil de
tension minimum, la procédure d’enclenchement du récepteur est
activée et donc également le processus de reconnaissance pile/
accumulateur. La cellule est dès lors identifiée comme pile ou comme
accumulateur et l’information est mémorisée dans le récepteur. S’il
s’agit d’un accumulateur, le processus de charge se poursuit. Si c’est
une pile qui a été identifiée, le processus de recharge est immédia-
tement interrompu.
Quelques types de récepteurs vous permettent le choix manuel
«accu/pile sèche».
