Introduction
The TRG 8800 Trigger Handle adds a gun-style handle with a
scanning trigger to the PPT 8800 with Windows®Embedded
CE .NETterminalsand thePPT 8800with Windows®Mobile2003
Software for Pocket PCs terminals. It increases comfort when
using the terminal in scan-intensive applications for extended
periods of time.
Note: The Trigger Handle is not compatible with the PPT88XX-
XXXXXDXX terminal configurations (handstrap with clip) or
with terminals with the larger capacity battery kit installed.
Consult your local account manager for more information.

Note: With a PPT 8800 with Windows®Mobile 2003 Software for
Pocket PCs terminal set to Always On (see Configuring the
Terminal on page 4), the terminal wakes up when it is inserted
into the Trigger Handle. This is due to 5 volts being detected
by the USB circuitry and is normal operation. This also occurs
when the terminal is in the Trigger Handle and the switch is
placed in the Scan/Print position.
Removing the Terminal
To remove the terminal, press the release down and pull the
terminal forward.
Configuring the Terminal
In order to use the Trigger Handle with the terminal you must
configure settings on the terminal.

volts be enabled in the Symbol Settings control panel. There are
three possible settings for the external 5 volt option:

Ergonomic Recommendations
Caution: Even the best-designed products can be a potential source of injury/illness
if used incorrectly. In order to avoid or minimize risk of ergonomic injury, follow the
general recommendations below. Consult with your local Health & Safety Manager to
ensure that you are meeting your company’s safety programs to prevent employee
injury.
• Reduce or eliminate repetitive motion
• Maintain a neutral posture and avoid awkward positions
• Reduce or eliminate excessive force
• Keep objects that are used frequently within easy reach
• Perform tasks at correct heights
• Reduce or eliminate vibration
• Reduce or eliminate direct pressure
• Provide adjustable workstations
• Avoid static exertions
• Provide adequate clearance
• Provide a suitable working environment
• Improve work procedures
• Take periodic rest breaks.
For Vehicle installations and Use
1. An air bag inflates with great force. DO NOT place objects, including either
installed or portable wireless equipment, in the area over the air bag or in the air
bag deployment area. If in-vehicle wireless equipment is improperly installed and
the air bag inflates, serious injury could result.
2. Position your device within easy reach. Be able to access your device without
removing your eyes from the road.
3. Do not take notes or use the device while driving. Jotting down a “to do” list or
flipping through your address book takes attention away from your primary
responsibility, driving safely.
