Multi-Sector Batch Set Up - Quick Guide
Start ProtoCOL 3 software
Log on to ProtoCOL 3
Capture image
Select the image tab and check the
live box
Create batch
Click New Batch
Position plate
Insert the plate holder, ensuring the
plate holder that gives the best
contrast between the colony and
background is used
Adjust the exposure by increasing/
decreasing the sliding scale
Capture image
Click

Plate configuration Select Plate Configuration to set
plate size, sample volume and
threshold. Defaults are Circular
plate 90mm, Sample volume
1ml. Change if necessary

Name the batch
Enter Name the batch
Select to increase or decrease the
number of sectors
Default is 4 sectors, to adjust click on
the drop down menu
Total plate count
Select Total Plate Count or Colour
Classification as per quick guide
Click
Or
Enter a plate ID
Enter
Click
Enter a plate ID on the Measure tab .
Auto-increment default is “on”, to
change this click on the Configuration
tab
ProtoCOL 3 is now ready to make the first measurement
Accept batch
