Introduction
Installation, operation and maintenance manual concerns air handling unit type Topvex, manufactured
by Systemair AB. It consists of basic information and recommendations concerning the design,
installation, start-up and operation, which shall be obeyed to ensure the proper fail-free operation of
the unit.
The key to proper and safe operating of the unit is to read this manual thoroughly, use the unit
according to guidelines given in it and follow all safety requirements.

Dimension and Weight
See fig. 1 and 2.
Handle and Hinges are removable.
Inspection doors can opens without handle by using a 16mm cap key.
Transport and storage
The Topvex should be stored and transported in such a way that it is protected against physical
damage that can harm panels, handles, display etc. It should be covered so that dust, rain and snow
cannot enter and damage the unit and its components. The appliance is delivered in one piece
containing all necessary components, wrapped in plastic on a pallet for easy transportation.
Where / how to Install
The unit is meant for indoor and horizontally installation, preferably in a separate room (e.g. storage,
laundry room, attic or similar). The electronic components should not be exposed to lower temperature
than 0°C and higher than +50°C.
When choosing the location it should be kept in mind that the unit requires maintenance regularly and
that the inspection doors should be easily accessible. Leave free space for opening the doors and for
taking out the main components (fig. 3).
Avoid placing the appliance against a wall, as low frequency noise can cause vibrations in the wall
even if the fan noise-level is acceptable. If this is not possible it is recommended to carefully insulate
the wall.
The fresh air intake of the building should if possible be put in the northern or eastern side of the
building and away from other exhaust outlets like kitchen fan outcasts or laundry room outlets. The
extract air should ideally be led out via a roof cowl away from any fresh air intakes, windows,
balconies etc.
Ducting
Air to and from the unit is led through a duct system. To ensure long life and satisfactory cleaning
possibilities, ducts made of galvanised steel are highly recommended.
To obtain high efficiency, low energy consumption and the required airflow, the duct system should be
commissioned for low air speeds and a low pressure drops.
NOTE!
•Do not connect tumble dryers to the ventilation system.
•Duct connections/duct ends should be covered during storage and installation.
•Grilles for discharge/roof units must be installed according to building regulations in force.
Duct connections
Secure all joints between ducting and the Topvex unit accurately using a minimum of 4 rivets per joint
(circular ducts) and 4 M8 bolts per joint (rectangular ducts). Rectangular ducts needs sealing strips or
sealing compound to ensure the air tightness.
Attention
To avoid fan noise being transferred via the ducting system, silencers should be installed both on
supply and extract air.
Condensation/heat insulation.
Fresh air duct and discharge ducts must always be well insulated against condensation. Correct
insulation installation on ducts connected to the unit is especially important. All duct runs installed in
cold rooms/areas must be well insulated. Use insulating covering (minimum 50 mm mineral wool) with
plastic diffusion barrier.
In areas with extremely low outdoor temperatures during the winter, additional insulation must be
installed. Total insulation thickness must be at least 100 mm.
NOTE! If the unit is installed in a cold place make sure that all joints are covered with
insulation, and tape well.

Electrical connection
The unit must not be put into operation before all the electrical safety precautions have been read and
understood.
See fig. 3 where to find the safety switch and electrical connection box.
See page 1 and the attached wiring diagram, how to connect the electrical cables.
TOPVEX has electric supply through a lockable safety switch on top of the unit. Units with electric
heating coils are to be connected to a 400V 3-phase 16A power supply. Units with hot water coils
need a 230V single-phase 10A supply. The unit is meant for continuous operation and permanent
connection to the mains.
Power consumption
TOPVEX 1000:
Fans: 790 W total
El heating battery: 3x1000W = 3 kW
TOPVEX 1500:
Fans: 1060 W total
El heating battery: 3x1330W = 3.99 kW
TOPVEX 2000:
Fans: 1010 W total
El heating battery: 3x2100 W = 6.3 kW
Changing fan speed, Topvex 1000 and 1500
Terminal post marked 130V, 160V, 180V on the transformer, inside the electrical box, is used to set
the fan speed. Default setting for Medium fan speed is on terminal post 180V (the single cable marked
with T1 180V) and low fan speed on terminal post 130V (cable marked with T1 130V). High fan speed
230V cannot be changed.
N.B.! Terminal post marked 90V is not allowed to use!
Changing fan speed, Topvex 2000
High and Low fan speed are preset from factory, to 35% and 100% of maximum fan speed, and not
changeable. Medium fan speed is preset to 65% of maximum fan speed and changeable between 35-
100%. The settings are made in the control panel, see Operating and maintenance instructions /
Control unit, manual.
External connections
See page 1 and the attached wiring diagram, how to connect the electrical cables.
Timer (Extended running)
When the unit is running on low speed or is in shutdown mode it can be forced up one step as long as
the timer switch is closed. Set the Extended operating in the control panel to 0 minutes.
Push button (Extended running)
When the unit is running on low speed or is in shutdown mode it can be forced up one step by using a
Push button (impulse). Set the Extended operating in the control panel to the required time, in
minutes.
Damper, fresh / exhaust air
The fresh / exhaust air damper (Supply voltage 24V AC, Spring return) is used to avoid cold air to
come into the building when the unit is stopped e.g. during night.
The damper is also preventing the hot water battery (HW models) from freezing by closing when the
returning water in the battery is below a set temperature, +8°C, alternatively if the supply air
temperature decrease below a set temperature (adjustable).

Cooling battery (water)
A water valve actuator (Supply voltage 24V AC, Control signal 0-10 V) can be connected to the unit
and be operated in sequence to the heater battery.
When using this function set the temperature Regulation mode to: Exhaust temperature.
HW valve / actuator
A water valve actuator (Supply voltage 24V AC, Control signal 0-10 V) is to be connected to the unit to
control a 2 or 3-way water valve.
Fire alarm
Connects to an external fire central. Stops the unit or changes the fan speed to High if the alarm is
activated.
Components
Heat exchanger
TOPVEX has a high efficient rotating heat exchanger. Required supply air temperature is therefore
normally maintained without adding additional heat via the built in re-heater battery (water or electric).
The operation of the heat exchanger is automatic and dependent on the set temperature.
Heater battery
Topvex has a built in heater battery (water or electric). The operation of the heating battery is
automatic and dependent on the set temperature.
Electrical heater
The heating coil is located after the supply fan (fig. 3) and the material is stainless steel. The electric
heating coil has both automatic and manual overheating protection. The power demand of the electric
heating coil is controlled by an on/off function according to the desired supply or extract air
temperature that is set in the control panel.
Hot water heater
The hot water coil is located after the supply fan (fig. 3). The coil is mounted for easy connection
through the top of the unit (fig. 1 and 2). At the same time, it is designed in such a way that it is easy
to access the pipe connections. The material is copper piping with a frame of galvanized sheet steel
and aluminum fins. The coil has one strap-on temperature detector as frost guard. If the temperature
drops and there is a risk of freezing (outlet water temperature below 8°C) the water flow is maintained
(the magnetic valve will open fully), the fans stops and the fresh / exhaust air damper, accessory,
closes instantaneously. As an alternative the supply air temperature can control the frost protection.
The alarm limit (°C) is to be set in the control panel.
Fig. 4 shows two possible solutions for designing the water regulation.
Control panel
The SCP control panel is delivered with a 10m cable that is pre-connected to the panel and with a fast
coupling ISDN contact, pre-connected to the Topvex unit. The ISDN contact is connected to the
Corrigo controller in the electrical connection box (fig. 3). The cable can be unscrewed in the back of
the control panel (fig 5).
General information is shown in (fig 5).
How to operate
The menus in the Corrigo E are organized in a horizontal tree structure. The UP / DOWN-buttons are
used to move between menus at the present menu level. The RIGHT / LEFT buttons are used to
move between menu levels. When changing parameters the UP / DOWN buttons are used to increase
/ decrease the value of the parameter and the RIGHT / LEFT buttons to move between digits within
the parameter.
The OK button is used to confirm the choice of a parameter setting.
The C button is used to abort an initiated parameter change and restore the original value.
The ALARM button is used to access the alarm list.

Changing parameters
In some menus there are parameters that can be set. This will be indicated by the LED  flashing.
To change a parameter, first press the OK button, the LED  changes to a steady light. A cursor will
appear at the first settable value. If you wish to change the value, do so by pressing the UP / DOWN
buttons. In numbers containing several digits you can move between the digits using the LEFT /
RIGHT-buttons.
When the desired value is displayed presses OK. If there are further settable values displayed the
cursor will automatically move to the next one. To pass a value without changing it, press RIGHT.
To abort a change and return to the initial setting, press and hold the C-button until the cursor
disappears.
Navigating the menus
The start display, the display normally shown, is at the root of the menu tree.
Pressing DOWN ▼will move you through the menu choices at this, the lowest level. UP ▲will move
you back through the choices.
To enter a higher menu level, use UP or DOWN to place the display marker opposite the menu you
wish to access and press RIGHT ►.
If you have sufficient log on privileges the display will change to the menu you have chosen.
At each level there may be several new menus through which you may move using the UP / DOWN
buttons.
Sometimes there are further submenus linked to a menu or menu item. This is indicated by an arrow
symbol at the right-hand edge of the display. To choose one, use RIGHT ►again. To back down to a
lower menu level, use LEFT ◄.

Commissioning
When the installation is finished, check that:
- the unit is installed in accordance with these instructions.
- sound attenuators are installed and that the duct system is correctly connected to the unit.
- fresh air intake is positioned with sufficient distance to pollution sources (kitchen ventilator exhaust,
central vacuum system exhaust or similar).
Before starting the system
See operating and maintenance instructions, "Operation".
Set present time and date, set the medium and low airflow and program the week schedule.
Check that:
- there is no unusual noise from the unit.
- control panel and lamp signals are in function.

Inspectiedeuren kunnen geopend worden zonder een hendel m.b.v. een 16mm (Rittel)-sleutel.
Transport en opslag
De Topvex unit dient te worden opgeslagen en vervoerd en wel zo dat het beschermd is tegen
schokken en stoten met name voor de hendels, panelen en displays. Verder dient de unit beschermd
te worden tegen stof, sneeuw en regen om schade aan de unit en zijn componenten te voorkomen.
Deze unit wordt in een stuk geleverd inclusief alle benodigde componenten geseald in plastic en op
een pallet geplaatst voor eenvoudige verplaatsing.
Waar/ hoe te installeren
De unit is bedoeld voor binnenopstelling en horizontale montage, bij voorkeur in een aparte ruimte
(zoals opslag, bergruimte/kast o.i.d.). De elektronische componenten mogen niet blootgesteld worden
aan temperaturen lager dan 0 graden °C en hoger dan 50 graden °C
Bij de keuze van de locatie dient in gedachten gehouden te worden dat de unit regelmatig onderhoud
vergt. En dat de inspectiedeuren eenvoudig toegankelijk blijven. Tevens dient er voldoende ruimte
overgehouden te blijven om onderdelen te kunnen vervangen/onderhouden. (fig. 3).
Vermijd plaatsing tegen een muur, lage frequenties kunnen trillingen veroorzaken zelfs wanneer het
geluidsniveau van de ventilatoren acceptabel is. Is dit niet mogelijk dan dient u de muur te isoleren.
De verse luchttoevoer van het gebouw dient bij voorkeur aan de noord- of oostzijde plaats te vinden.
Voldoende afstand van afvoer van keukenafvoer, rioolbeluchting en andere verontreinigingen. De
afvoer van lucht van de Topvex dient bij voorkeur naar een dak te geschieden uiteraard met
voldoende afstand volgens het bouwbesluit inzake de verdunningsfactor.
Kanaalsysteem
Lucht van en naar de unit geschied door een kanaalsysteem. Voor een lange levensduur en een
eenvoudige reiniging hiervan is een uitvoering van gegalvaniseerd materiaal aan te bevelen.
Voor een hoog rendement, laag energieverbruik en de gevraagde luchthoeveelheid dient het
kanaalsysteem uitgelegd zijn voor lage luchtsnelheden en een lage drukval.
OPMERKING!
•Sluit geen wasdroger aan op het ventilatiesysteem.
•Kanaalaansluitingen/kanalen dienen afgeschermd te zijn bij opslag en montage.
•Roosters voor afblaas of dakkappen dienen geplaatst te worden volgens het bouwbesluit
en de daarvoor geldende regels en richtlijnen.
Kanaalaansluitingen
Iedere ronde aansluiting op de Topvex en het kanaal dienen minimaal met vier schroeven/popnagels
te zijn vastgezet. Rechthoekige aansluitingen op de Topvex dienen met 4 M8 schroeven per
aansluiting te zijn vastgezet. Tevens dienen deze rechthoekige aansluitingen luchtdicht te zijn
afgedicht met een strip of kit.
Belangrijk!
Om ventilatorgeluid via het kanaalsysteem te verminderen dient een geluiddemper toegepast te
worden. Dit geldt voor zowel de luchttoe- als luchtafvoer.
Condens-/isolatie.
Kanalen voor verse buitenlucht en afvoer van verontreinigde lucht dienen geïsoleerd te worden
om condensatie tegen te gaan. Uiteraard dient dit op de juiste wijze op de unit aan te sluiten.
Wanneer de unit in een onverwarmde ruimte staat dienen alle kanalen geïsoleerd te worden
met minimaal 50 mm steenwol isolatie of gelijkwaardig aan.
Opmerking!
Alle aansluitingen dienen wanneer de unit in een koude omgeving is geplaatst goed geïsoleerd
en afgeplakt/dicht te zijn!!!.

Elektrische aansluitingen
De unit mag niet eerder ingeschakeld worden voordat alle elektrische veiligheidsvoorschriften zijn
gelezen en begrepen.
Zie fig. 2 voor de werkschakelaar en elektrische aansluitdoos.
Zie pag. 1 en het meegeleverde elektrische schema om de kabels op de juiste wijze aan te sluiten.
TOPVEX wordt via een werkschakelaar op de bovenzijde van de unit gevoed. Units met een
elektrische naverwarmer worden op 400Volt ~3 fase en een Nul op 16 Ampère voeding aangesloten.
Units met een warmwaterbatterij als naverwarming worden op 230 Volt ~1 en 10 Ampère
aangesloten. De unit is bestemd voor continu bedrif en dient daarom op een permanente voeding te
worden aangesloten op het net.
Energieverbruik
TOPVEX 1000:
Ventilatoren: 790 W totaal
El-batterij: 3x1000W = 3 kW
TOPVEX 1500:
Ventilatoren: 1060 W totaal
El-batterij: 3x1330W = 3.99 kW
TOPVEX 2000:
Ventilatoren: 1010 W totaal
El-batterij: 3x2100W = 6.3 kW
Wijziging ventilatorsnelheid, Topvex 1000 en 1500
Aansluitingsstrip aangegeven met 130V, 160V, 180V op de transformator, is bedoeld om de snelheid
in te stellen. Standaard aansluiting op de transformator is 180 V (de enkele kabel gemerkt met T1 180
V) en lage snelheid op de aansluitstrip 130 V (kabel gemerkt met T1 130V. Hoge snelheid 230 V is
niet te wijzigen.
Belangrijk! Aansluitstrip 90V mag niet worden gebruikt.
Wijziging ventilatorsnelheid, Topvex 2000
De hoge en lage snelheid zijn in de fabriek ingesteld op 35% en 100% als maximum ventilatorsnelheid
en zijn niet te wijzigen. De middelste snelheid is standaard op 65% ingesteld en is instelbaar tussen
35-100%. Deze instelling kan in via het controlepaneel gewijzigd worden, zie Bediening- en
onderhoudsinstructies / bedieningsunit, handleiding.
Externe aansluitingen
Zie pagina 1 en het meegeleverde el-schema voor het aansluiten van de elektrische aansluitingen.
Timer (nadraaitijd)
Als de unit op lage snelheid draait of in de uit-stand staat is het mogelijk om 1 toerental hoger in te
schakelen zolang als dit contact gesloten blijft. In dat geval stelt u de tijd in het controle paneel in op 0
minuten.
Drukknop (nadraaitijd)
Als de unit op lage snelheid draait of in de uit-stand staat is het mogelijk om 1 toerental hoger in te
schakelen door middel van een drukknop. In dat geval stelt u de tijd in het controle paneel op een door
u bepaalde tijd in minuten.
Afsluiter verse buitenlucht/ retourlucht
De afsluiter voor verse buitenlucht en afvoer retourlucht (Voedingsspanning (24V AC,
Veerteruggangmotor) is bedoeld om er voor te zorgen dat koude buitenlucht niet in het gebouw kan
binnendringen wanneer de unit is uitgeschakeld. Bv. gedurende de nacht.
De afsluiter dient er ook voor om de warmwater batterij (HW modellen) te beschermen tegen
bevriezing wanneer de retourwater temperatuur beneden de ingestelde waarde van + 8°C. Tevens
wanneer de luchttoevoertemperatuur onder de ingestelde waarde uitkomt.(instelbaar)

Koelbatterij (koudwater)
Een klepmotor ( voedingsspanning 24V AC, Stuurspanning 0-10 V DC) kan aangesloten worden op
de unit en toe te passen in combinatie met de warmwaterbatterij.
Wanneer deze optie wordt gebruikt dient u de temperatuur Instelling op basis van retourtemperatuur
uit te voeren.
HW klepmotor
Een klepmotor ( voedingsspanning 24V AC, Stuurspanning 0-10 V DC) kan aangesloten worden op
de unit om een twee of drie-wegklep aan te drijven.
Brand alarm
Aansluiting voor een externe brandcentrale. Stopt de unit of verandert de snelheid van de unit naar
maximaal wanneer het alarm is geactiveerd..
Componenten
Warmtewiel
De Topvex heeft hoog efficiënte roterende warmtewisselaar. Voor de benodigde
luchttoevoertemperatuur is het veelal niet nodig om de naverwarmer te activeren.(water en elektrisch).
De werking van het warmtewiel is volledig automatisch en is afhankelijk van de ingestelde
temperatuur.
Verwarmingsbatterij
De Topvex heeft een ingebouwde naverwarmer (water of elektrisch) de werking is volautomatisch en
is afhankelijk van de ingestelde temperatuur.
Elektrische naverwarmer
De verwarmingsbatterij is geplaatst achter luchttoevoer ventilator (fig. 3) en is vervaardigd van
roestvast staal. De elektrische verwarmingsbatterij heeft een automatische en handmatige
oververhittingbeveiliging. Het benodigde vermogen wordt geregeld door een aan/uit functie en is
afhankelijk van de ingestelde waarde van de luchttoevoer of lucht afvoertemperatuur. Deze wordt
ingesteld via het bedieningspaneel.
Warmwaterbatterij
De warmwaterbatterij is geplaatst achter de (fig. 3). De batterij is zo gemonteerd voor een eenvoudige
aansluiting via de bovenzijde van de unit. (fig. 1 en 2). Tevens is het eenvoudig om de leidingen aan
te sluiten. Het materiaal is van koperen buis en een frame van gegalvaniseerd staal en aluminium
vinnen. De batterij heeft een temperatuursensor als detector voor mogelijke vorst. Als de temperatuur
daalt en er is een risico van bevriezing (retourwatertemperatuur onder 8°C) wordt de hoeveelheid
water door de klep maximaal. De ventilatoren stoppen en de twee buitenluchtafsluiters (extra als optie
te verkrijgen) sluiten automatisch. Als alternatief kan de toevoerluchttemperatuur de vorstbeveiliging
regelen. The alarmbegrenzing ° C wordt ingesteld in het bedieningspaneel..
Fig. 4 geeft twee mogelijkheden aan voor het ontwerp van regeling voor de waterbatterij.
Controlepaneel
Het SCP controlepaneel wordt geleverd met 10 meter kabel welke is voorzien van een ISDN
aansluitstekker.en reeds aangesloten op de Topvex unit. Het ISDN contact is intern aangesloten op
de Corrigo regeling, gemonteerd in de elektrische aansluitbox (fig. 3). De kabel kan losgemaakt
worden in de achterzijde van het bedieningspaneel. (fig.5).
Algemene informatie is weergegeven in (fig. 5).
Hoe te gebruiken
De menu’s in de CORRIGO E zijn eenvoudig bereikbaar door een horizontale boomstructuur. De
OPHOOG/OMLAAG toetsen dienen ervoor om je te verplaatsen tussen de menu’s vanuit het huidige
menu. De RECHTS/LINK toetsen dienen om je te verplaatsen tussen de menu niveaus. Wanneer de
parameters gewijzigd dienen te worden gebruik dan de OPHOOG/OMLAAG toetsen voor de hoogte
van de instelling en de RECHTS/LINK toetsen om je te verplaatsen tussen de cijfers van de
parameter.

De OK-toets is voor het bevestigen van de keuze van de parameter.
De C-toets is is ervoor om de gewijzigde parameter weer in de oorspronkelijke waarde terug te
brengen.
De ALARM toets is om toegang te krijgen tot de alarmmeldingen.
Veranderen parameters
In sommige menu’s kunnen de parameters worden gewijzigd. Dit wordt aangegeven doordat de LED
knippert.
Om deze parameter te wijzigen, druk eerst toets OK. Wanneer er meerdere cijfers worden
weergegeven dan zal de cursor automatisch verplaatsen naar de volgende. Om een cijfer over te
slaan zonder deze te wijzigen druk op toets RECHTS. Om een wijziging af te breken en terug te gaan
naar de oorspronkelijke instelling, druk op toets C en houdt deze ingedrukt totdat de cursor verdwijnt.
Navigeren tussen de menu’s.
Het eerste menu, wat normaal wordt getoond, is de start van de route door de menu’s.
Door op toets OMLAAG ▼te drukken navigeer je door de verschillende menukeuzes. Vanuit de
laatste keuze kun je weer terug door op toets OMHOOG ▲te drukken.
Om naar een hoger niveau te gaan, druk op toets OMHOOG of OMLAAG om de displaymarker op het
gekozen menu te plaatsen. Om het gekozen menu in te gaan druk op toets RECHTS ►.
Wanneer u genoeg rechten heeft om deze te mogen gebruiken zal het display wijzigen in het door u
gekozen menu.
Op ieder niveau zijn er mogelijk verschillende nieuwe niveaus die u kunt bereiken door op toets
OMHOOG of OMLAAG▼.te drukken.
Soms zijn er nog meer submenu’s die verbonden zijn met menu of menu-item.
Dit wordt aangegeven door een pijl symbool aan de rechterzijde van de display. Om deze te kiezen
druk nogmaals op RECHTS ►. Om een menu terug te gaan druk op toets LINKS ◄.
Overige toebehoren
Voor meer informatie over geluiddempers, roosters/ventielen, dakopstanden, muurroosters etc. Zie
onze technische documentatie en installatievoorschriften.
Inbedrijfstelling
Wanneer de installatie is afgerond, controleer het volgende:
- de unit is geïnstalleerd conform de instructies.
- geluiddempers zijn gemonteerd en het kanaalsysteem is correct aangesloten op de unit.
- verse luchtaanvoer is op voldoende afstand aangebracht van afvoer van verontreinigde lucht
(keukenafvoer, rioolontluchting, Cv-ketels, open-haarden etc.).

Voordat u het systeem opstart:
Zie inbedrijfstelling en installatie-instructies. ”Inbedrijfstelling”
Stel de huidige tijd en datum in, stel het middelste en lage toerental en weekprogramma in.
Controleer dat:
- dat er geen vreemde geluiden uit de unit komt.
- bedieningspaneel en LED lampjes zijn in orde.
