1 Warning
The following statements will be presented in the different sections of the document.
Danger
• Make sure that the Mains supply to the unit is disconnected before performing any maintenance or
electrical work!
• All electrical connections must be carried out by an authorized installer and in accordance with local
rules and regulations.
Warning
• Although the Mains supply to the unit has been disconnected there is still risk for injury due to
rotating parts that have not come to a complete standstill.
• Beware of sharp edges during maintenance. Use protective clothing.
• This product is not intended to be used by children or people with reduced physical or mental ability
or lack of experience and knowledge, if no instruction concerning the use has been given by the
person responsible for their safety or that this person is supervising the operation. Children should
be supervised so that they can not play with the product.

• The unit must be duct connected or in some other way provided with protection so that it is not
possible to come in contact with the fans through the duct connections
• The unit is heavy. Be careful during transport and mounting. Risk of injury through pinching. Use
protective clothing.
• Beware of sharp edges during mounting and maintenance. Make sure that a proper lifting device is
used. Use protective clothing.
Caution
• If the unit is installed in a cold place make sure that all joints are covered with insulation, and tape well
• Duct connections/duct ends should be covered during storage and installation
• Do not connect tumble dryers to the ventilation system
• Take care not to damage the water battery when connecting water pipes to connectors. Use a
spanner to tighten the connection.

2 Mounting of Water Heating Coil
It is possible to add a water heating coil to units without re-heater (None). A water heating coil can be
purchased as an accessory.
The following procedure describes how to mount and connect the water heating coil in the unit.
2.1 HW Installation in Topvex FR800-3800 (Re-Heat)

Open the inspection door at the supply/extract air
side of the unit.

Insert the water heating coil in front of the supply
air fan and push the connection tubes through the
prepared holes in the unit gable.
* Sealing grommets are required on outside of
unit only.

Connect the water piping to the coil connections
(pos.1 and 2).
Thearrowsintheguresdisplayhowthehotwater
should be connected to the coil. Connect the hot
water inlet to the tube connection marked pos. 1 in
thegure,andthereturnwatertotheconnection
marked pos. 2.
Note:
The unit in the illustration is installed with the
inspection door facing downward, i.e. false ceiling
installation.

Connect the frost protection sensor (pos. 1) to the
prepared fast coupling (pos. 2) on the inside casing
wall (wires are polarity independent).
Note:
The frost protection sensor is placed on the return
water tube.

Caution
• Take care not to damage the water coil when
connecting water pipes to connectors.
• Water temperature should not exceed 194°F
(90°C).

Use the control panel to program the unit for water
heating. See chapter 2.3 on how to do software
conguration.

Remove the cover plate by unscrewing 3 screws.

Insert the water heating coil as illustrated in the
gure.

Replace the cover plate and fasten it with 2 screws
(pos. 1).

Connect the water piping to the coil connections.
Coverplatesaroundthepipesarexedtotheunit
(reinforcement).
Thearrowsintheguredisplayhowthehotwater
should be connected to the coil. Connect the hot
water inlet to position 1 and the return water to
position 2.
Connect the frost protection sensor (pos. 3) to
terminals 44 and 40 in the electrical connection box.
Use the prepared internal lead through to draw the
wiring between the compartments.

2.3 Conguring the Software for HW (Re-heat)
After all the physical installations for water heating have been done the unit software needs to be setup
for water heating by the use of the control panel. This is done by activating the digital input where the frost
protection sensor has been connected and set the heating option to Water.
Follow procedure below.
1 Access rights
Go to Access Rights by using the UP/DOWN
arrow buttons. Select by pressing the RIGHT arrow
button.

Choose Log on. Select by pressing the RIGHT
arrow button.

Enter password 1111 by pressing OK followed by
the UP/DOWN arrow buttons. Select next digit by

all 4 digits have been entered.

Remove the plate covering the electrical
connections.

Slide the Pre-Heater into place. Tighten mounting
screws.
Warning
Ensure Automatic fuse (AS3) is OFF when
connecting pre-heater.

Remove the Pre-Heater electrical box cover and
connect power and control cables to the Topvex
unit.

Replace the electrical box cover and tighten screws.
