1. Introduction
EzSMS is an effective SMS messaging system for your company. The EzSMS allows ease of
sending of SMS, by enhancing email client with the integration of SMS capability. It allows you
to send SMS to single mobile phone user or multiple mobile phone users.
EzSMS can be deployed for critical equipment alert via SMS. For equipment that can generate
alarm email, EzSMS convert it to SMS and deliver the message to the recipient‟s handphone.
EzSMS is useful for sending a SMS to multiple mobile phones. A good example is when a
secretary wants to remind her colleagues to attend a meeting at a particular time. She would only
need to compose a email and address to her colleagues‟ SMS address then send it. This will save
her a lot of time in gathering her engineers. Furthermore, if her email client supports scheduling
(e.g. Microsoft Outlook), she will be able to schedule a pre-define time to send out her message.
2. Functional Description
EzSMS is simple and reliable, an effective gateway for receiving emails, and sending them out in
the form of SMS messages to users‟ mobile phones. Only the subject or body content will be sent
out to intended recipient.
The setup is very simple. In the setup of your email client (SMTP client), point the SMTP
server IP address to the gateway IP. This way the SMTP client will sent email to the gateway.
It is not required to pre-configure any destination mobile phone number or pre-define message.
To send SMS message to a destination mobile, all you need is to composed your message
content (limit to 160 characters) in the subject of the email and define the mobile number in the
resent when the network is ready again.
This EzSMS Alert Gateway can be used in conjunction with fault detection system that can
only issue emails whenever any fault is detected. Example of such equipments are security
camera, UPS, compressor etc. As such, the short fault message can be pre-defined as the
subject title and only the detail information is recorded in the message body. The service
technician mobile number can be set as recipient. In this manner, the gateway can send out the
message more effectively and the service technician can be alerted immediately.
It is user-friendly. Only simple LAN settings are required.
