Introduction
Your temperzone a r cond t oner s suppl ed w th a SAT-2 wall thermostat. Th s
thermostat has been des gned to ma nta n a h gh level of comfort for room
occupants. Emphas s has been placed on prov d ng controls that are easy to use
desp te the soph st cated m croprocessor system that runs t. Use of the Auto and
T mer funct on sett ngs allows you “to set t and forget t”.

Operation
On/Off
Starting Operation
When the un t s turned off, press the button. The backl ght and the system
are turned on.
Bypass Operation
To act vate the a r cond t oner outs de any pre-set t mes, follow the nstruct ons n
page 7.
Stopping Operation
When the un t s turned on, press the button. The system s turned off.
Room Temperature Adjustment
Normally the d splay w ll show the current room temperature (not the preset
temperature). Set the temperature of your cho ce by press ng the or
buttons. The preset temperature w ll appear.
Each push w ll change the temperature by 1ºC.
Temperature can set w th n the range 16ºC ─ 30ºC.
Dur ng Fan mode, the temperature can not be set.
Mode Selection

Cool ─ If the room temperature s too warm, the a r cond t oner cools the room unt l
t reaches the set temperature.
Heat ─ If the room temperature s too cool, the a r cond t oner warms the room unt l
t reaches the set temperature (reverse cycle systems only).
Auto ─ The a r cond t oner w ll automat cally cool or heat the room unt l t reaches
the set temperature (reverse cycle systems only).
Fan ─ If the atmosphere n the room s stale, use th s mode to c rculate the a r n
the room, w thout chang ng the overall room temperature.

Setting 7 Day Timer
The t mer can be set to turn on and off, two sess ons per day, and one regular
sess on per week.

Example
Two sess ons of on and off t mer per day be ng set as follow:
P1 on t mer
0800
P1 off t mer 1200
P2 on t mer 1300
P2 off t mer 1700
If current t me s 0730 hrs, t w ll rema n as last state. At 0800 hrs, t w ll turn on the
un t us ng P1 on t mer. At 1200 hrs, t w ll turn off the un t us ng P1 off t mer. At 1300
hrs, t w ll turn on the un t us ng P2 on t mer. At 1700 hrs, t w ll turn off the un t us ng
P2 off t mer.
Press ng on/off button to on/off the un t w ll bypass the control of current event. The
second event w ll take over upon exp ry of current event.
Example: If user turns off the un t at 1000 hrs, t w ll rema n off unt l 1300 hrs, at
wh ch t me control s taken over by t mer P2.
Sleep Activation
Press
SLEEP
button to act vate the sleep opt on. Th s opt on saves energy by
alter ng the set temperature over a two hours per od.
Example uses:
In Summer, before go ng to bed at n ght w th the cool mode set, press ng the
SLEEP
button gradually ra ses the set temperature by 2 degrees to compensate for
a person’s lower metabol sm when sleep ng.
In W nter, w th the heat mode set, press ng the
SLEEP
button gradually lower the
set temperature by 3 degrees to compensate for heav er w nter bedd ng.
The sleep opt on s only ava lable for Cool, Heat and Auto modes.
Zone Control (option)
If your a r cond t on ng nstallat on has zones nstalled ( .e. dampers), select the
zones to be turned on us ng the appropr ate Zone button. Zone 1 s always ass gned
as master zone. Each zone can be nd v dually turned on or off. However, zone 1
can only be turned off prov ded there are two other zones turned on.
Key Lock
Th s feature protects the control be ng tampered w th by ch ldren or unauthor zed
persons.

Bypass
Th s feature prov des a qu ck ‘on demand’ alternat ve to the ‘pre-programmed’ type
of use. Bypass operat on perm ts the user to start the a r cond t oner mmed ately,
bypass ng the button and any programmed sess on t mes.
Bypass s n t ated by,
a) Hold down button for 3 seconds, w ll be shown at the temperature
d splay area. Letter “H” nd cates hour sett ng.
b) Press button once for one operat on, tw ce for 2 hours and 3 t mes for 4
hours operat on. Further key press w ll revert to 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and
repeats.
c) Press
CANCEL
button w ll cancel the bypass t mer sett ng.
d) System w ll ex t from bypass sett ng 3 seconds after last key press.
If Bypass t mer s set, the d splay w ll alternate between temperature and number of
countdown hours left, e.g. 2H and the room temperature. Upon Bypass t mer
countdown reach ng zero:
a) If the On or Off t mer sett ngs are n l, system w ll sw tch off
b) If there s On or Off t mer ava lable, the un t w ll cont nue to operate f the t me
span of the On or Off t mer allows t to be on. At an undef ned reg on or off t me
span, the un t w ll sw tch off.
To term nate the bypass t mer before chosen t me has f n shed, press button
to cancel the sett ng and turn off the a r cond t oner.
Buzzer
Buzzer beeps n response to a val d button press or w reless s gnal recept on. It
beeps tw ce when the system s turned on, otherw se beeps once to all other val d
acknowledgements.
Backlight
Backl ght colour changes accord ng to the operat ng mode sett ng.

a) The colour changes to red whenever there s system fault. Whenever the
fault s cleared, backl ght colour w ll return to or g nal.
b) If the un t s on, backl ght w ll turn off 30 seconds after the last button press.
c) If the un t s off, any button press w ll turn on the backl ght and the screen
d splay. The backl ght w ll turn off 10 seconds after last button press. Once
the backl ght s turned on, sett ng can be done the same way as when the
system s on.

Remote Control (option)
Operation
A beep w ll sound when the wall plaque rece ves a s gnal from the hand held nfra
red remote control. The IR remote control must be po nted d rectly at the SAT-2 wall
thermostat plaque n order for ts s gnal to be rece ved.

press.
The speed of interval
updating increases after 4
seconds of continuous key
press. It will update at high
speed after 6 seconds of
continuous key press.
Ad ust Set Temperature
Press down or up button to
decrease or increase the desired
room temperature.
Note: A temperature can not be
set in Fan mode.
Fan
Press this button will advance
the fan speed as follows:
Auto → Low → Medium → High
Mode
Press this button will advance the
mode in the following sequence:
Cool → Fan → Heat → Auto
Under Fan mode, only low,
medium and high are available.

1. Should there be any fault happen w th the ma n board, the relevant error code

Troubleshooting
Air Conditioner Doesn’t Operate
1. Check there s power to the a r cond t oner. There s no power f the SAT-2’s
screen s blank.
2. Check the SAT-2 s on, .e. the LCD d splay s on.
3. Check f symbol s d splayed. If so, checked that you are n the ‘sw tch on’
per od, or alter the t mer sett ngs (refer to page 6).
Reduced Cooling or Heating
1. Check the SAT-2 s not n the SLEEP mode (refer to page 6).
2. Check to see f the a r f lter ( f any) requ res clean ng.
3. Check f any doors or w ndows are opened.
4. Check that there are no obstacles n front of the outdoor un t.
No Cooling or Heating
Check that the correct operat ng mode has been selected (Auto, Cool, Heat). The
preset temperature may have been set too h gh or too low. If the set temperature
appears okay, call for serv ce.
Not Correctly Triggered
Check the clock s set to the r ght t me (day l ght sav ng?) and the t mer has been
correctly programmed.
Loss of Settings
If the SAT-2 fa ls to reta n the preset t mer sett ngs when the power supply s off
then check the battery to see f t needs replac ng. If the battery s flat, low or
m ss ng, the LCD d splay w ll st ll operate, however the clock w ll reset to 0:00, SUN
sett ngs.
The battery s located at the rear of the SAT-2. Separate the thermostat body from
the wall mount ng plate by remov ng the screw attach ng both p eces as p cture
below.
Remove and check the battery. If necessary, replace w th a l th um CR2032 cell
battery.

Keypad Will Not Respond
Check to see f key lock symbol s d splayed. Refer to page 7 for unlock ng
procedure.
Remote Control Doesn’t Operate
1. Check the batter es n the remote control aren’t flat.
2. The nfra red remote control must be po nted d rectly at the SAT-2 wall
thermostat plaque n order for ts s gnal to be rece ved.
3. If there s no l ght or beep from the wall plaque when the remote controls
buttons are pressed, consult your nstaller to ensure the wall plaque has been
set up correctly for remote control use.
