Chapter 1 Brief Introduction
Thanks for choosing TWL541C/TWL541P wireless adapter. It is a
standard CardBus/PCI adapter that fits standard 32-bit CardBus/ any PCI
slot in a desktop. It is an enhanced high-performance supporting
high-speed wireless networking at home, or at office. TWL541C/TWL541P
wireless adapter is able to communicate with any 802.11b and 802.11g
compliant products.

1.2 Applications
TWL541C/TWL541P wireless adapter offers a fast, reliable,
cost-effective solution for wireless client access to the network in

Chapter 2 Installation Guide
This chapter describes the instructions that guide you through the
proper installation of your TWL541C/TWL541P wireless adapter with
driver and utilities. (Windows 2000 as an example, for the installation
under other OS, please kindly refers to this manual with the system
prompts accordingly) .
2.1 Install Driver
Step1 Shut off your computer, insert TWL541P wireless adapter into an
available PCI slot (TWL541C into Notebook CardBus slot), restart your
computer, the Windows will auto-detect the PCI wireless adapter and a
Found New Hardware Wizard window will show up;
Step 2 Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) (S)
and click Next;

Step 3 Select Specify a location and then click Next;
Step 4 Click Browse… of the prompt window;

Step5 Select directory of My Computer>Your CD ROM driver>
TWL541C&TWL541P ＞ Drivers ＞ WINXP_2K( or your current OS
version) ＞ mrv8335.inf, click Open;
Step 6 Back to previous dialog box and click OK;
Step 7 Click Next to install the driver;
Step 8 Click Finish and the driver is installed;

2.2 Install Configuration Utility
1. Select My Computer ＞ CD-ROM Driver ＞ TWL541C&TWL541P ＞
Setup folder and double click Setup.exe ;
2. Select Marvell （ R ） Libertas Client Configuration Mana from the prompt
installation dialog box and click Install;

3. Click Next
4. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next;
5. Select Complete then click Next;

Chapter 3 Usage of Configuration Utility
All the functions of the wireless adapter are configurable and
manageable with this utility. Click Start>Programs>Marvell Libertas （ TM ）
802.11g Client － Marvell Libertas Client Configuration Manager or simply
double click the shortcut of Marvell Libertas Client Configuration
Manager on the desktop.
3.1 Network Status
This is to display the working status of TWL541C/TWL541P wireless
adapter: Link Status, Network SSID, Wireless Mode, Network Type,
Server-based Authentication, Signal Strength, IP, Current Channel, type of
encryption, etc.
3.2 Profile Manager
The Profile field allows you to set values for all parameters by

selecting a previously defined profile. You can have multiple profiles and
modify the profile at any time.
Configuration a profile: configuration a profile for the network information,
encryption type, protocols, etc. You can decide the location of the profile
when you are making a new one.

Profile Name:To name your profile.
SSID:SSID is the unique ID used by Access Points and other
wireless network equipment to identify various workgroups. A
wireless clients associating to any Access Point must have the
same SSID of the workgroup intend to connect.
Wireless Mode: Both Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc capable.
Note:For Ad-Hoc wireless mode, you can set the preferred channel
and enable 802.11g.
Security
Authentication Type: Supports WEP、WPA-PSK、802.1x、CCX
Encryption Method:Select Shared or Open System for WEP
encryption and WPA-PSK for TKIP.
WEP Key:Enable a key
WEP Key configuration:
1. Key types: ASCII and hexadecimal (0-9, A-F).
2. Key length: 64bit and 128bit.
3. Key:Input the key for authentication.

Protocol:
a) Do not change settings (Keep original): Use default settings when
enabled, settings configurable when disabled.
b) Power Save Mode:Continuous Access (Normal)and Max.
c) 802.11b preamble: Preamble frame is to control the packet size.
d) Options: Auto and Long.
e) Transmit Rate: Options: Auto and 54/48/36/24/18/12/9/6/11/5.5/2/1M
f) Fragment:Packet size, from 256 to 2346.
g) RTS/CTS Threshold:RTS/CTS threshold value, rang: 256-2346,
default value recommended.
h) Restore: Restore default values.
i) Enable Profile: Enable a selected profile.
j) Up: Move up a profile.
k) Down: Move down a profile.
l) Delete:Delete a profile.

m) New: Make a new profile.
n) Save: Save a profile.
3.3 Site Survey
To scan the wireless workstations around for any applicable AP.
3.4 Statistics
To display the signal strength, packed transmitted and received.

3.5 Advanced
The settings of Transmit Rate, Preamble Power Save Mode and network
type:
Power Save Mode: Continuous Access (Normal)and Max.
802.11b preamble: Preamble frame is to control the packet size.
Receive Antenna: Receive Antenna.
Transmit Antenna: TransmitAntenna.
Transmit Rate: Options: Auto and 54/48/36/24/18/12/9/6/11/5.5/2/1M.
Fragment: Packet size, from 256 to 2346.
RTS/CTS Threshold: RTS/CTS threshold value, rang: 256-2346, default
value recommended.
Apply Changes: Save changed values.
Restore: Restore default values.

3.6 Admin
Import Profiles: Import saved profiles from your computer.
Export Profiles:Save all the settings of Profile Manager to a selected
folder.
