For the correct use of the product, follow the instructions in this manual.
This manual is a guide for a safe use of this Teuco sauna and it is therefore necessary to read it thor-
oughly before using the product.
This manual is an integral part of the product and therefore is to be kept for any future reference.
Teuco Guzzini spa reserves the right to make any change deemed to be appropriate without prior no-
tice or replacement.

In case of disease, elderly, hypertension, pregnancy, etc. it is necessary to consult your doctor before
using sauna.
Persons suffering from heart disease, inflammation, contagious disease, epilepsy, as well as pace-
maker wearer should not use sauna.
The door of sauna must always be of small dimensions to limit heat escape when opening it; when en-
tering/leaving sauna, always mind the lower step and the upper edge of the door area, to avoid tripping
hazard or head banging.
The permanence in sauna must be adequate according to temperature set and user’s tolerability. Avoid
exaggerations and leave the sauna in case of fatigue sensation.
During sauna functioning, the stove and related stones may get very hot, as well as air above, causing
burn hazard. It is strictly forbidden to touch the stove or the stones or to get too close. Furthermore, it
is forbidden to remove the stove protection grid, if present.
The supplied stones are to be inserted into the stove, covering the electric heaters completely. Do
not switch the stove on without them, wholly or partially. In case of stone level lowering owing to their
crashing or settlement, restore it by adding new ones and rejecting/removing the too small ones.
To avoid fire hazard, it is absolutely forbidden to lean flammable objects against the stove or pour liq-
uids on its top. Do not put any kind of object on the stove or inside it, even if off, and do not cover it in
any way.
Essences usually utilized in sauna must be duly diluted in water before use. Follow the indications of
the producer of these essences.
In case of subsequent treatments or paintings of wooden parts inside sauna, which Teuco Guzzini Spa
is not held liable for, use only water-based coatings, avoiding the solvent-based ones. Please note
painted wood may cause burns when in contact with skin. Always use a towel to lean on. The manu-
facturer shall not be liable for any burn.
In case of disuse, switch sauna off through a thermal-magnetic breaker situated upstream of the sys-
tem.
In the event of fault or malfunctioning, for the purposes of warranty, if not expired, contact authorized
technical personnel only. The manufacturer shall not be liable for damages caused by products tem-
pered with or improperly repaired. The use of spare parts, accessories and consumables other than the
original or not authorized ones may cause injury hazard and releases the Manufacturer from any civil
or penal liability.
Should sauna be used by persons other than the Buyer, or for professional purposes, the Buyer is held
to duly instruct the users concerning the proper use of sauna and the safety precautions. The Manu-
facturer assumes no responsibility in case of failure to comply with safety indications.

Inspect the sauna room before switching the appliance on or setting the time delay start, checking that
there are no objects on the stove or in close proximity.

THE TRADITION OF FINNISH SAUNA
Sauna, which is now widely spread, is a treatment for the psycho-physical well-being; the "heat bath" permits
to eliminate toxins and wastes of the skin through sweat, by increasing transpiration.
Sauna is born in Finland, where it was already practiced in 1100. The execution methods were different: the
classic "Finnish sauna" was taken in specifically predisposed rooms, where the required temperature was
reached by means of suitable stoves.
The most known procedure includes a first "bath" of dry air, followed then by a "superheated steam bath",
obtained throwing water on hot stones. In this way, by saturating the room with humidity, an abundant sweat-
ing is fostered. In the Nordic countries, this phase is followed by a bath in cold water, while in other countries,
a cold shower is usually taken.
THE EFFECTS OF SAUNA
The most evident effect of the high temperature reached inside sauna is sweating, a natural mechanism
which regulates body temperature, keeping it as close as possible to 37 ° C. Swaeting permits to eliminate
water and, increasing the activity of sebaceous glands, also toxic substances. The increase in body tempera-
ture has beneficial effects on the muscles, that relax and reduce tension.
During sauna, metabolism and heart rate increase, there is vasodilation and the blood becomes less "sticky”:
these reactions facilitate circulation of blood.
Heat can also be beneficial to those suffering from respiratory diseases (bronchitis, sinusitis and chronic rhi-
nitis); it can favour a faster muscle recovery, facilitating relaxation and elimination of lactic acid, a sedative ef-
fect on nerve endings and a better recovery of the peripheral circulation. Sauna is particularly recommended
for detoxifying the body from toxins and obtain a general sense of well-being and psyco-physical relax.
WHEN SHOULDN’T SAUNA BE RECOMMENDED?
Sauna is not recommended in the following cases:
1. In case pressure is too high or too low;
2. In presence of heart or circulation diseases;
3. In feverish states;
4. In case of inflammatory skin, also to avoid the contagion risk;
5. In case of varicose veins;
6. In pregnancy;
7. During the menstrual cycle (the vasodilation effect and the reduction in blood viscosity may cause
haemorrhage risk).

HOW TO PREPARE FINNISH SAUNA
An optimal climate for sauna can be obtained only with the suitable environmental conditions, as tempera-
ture, moisture and aeration. The sauna heater heats room by means of heated air. Fresh air is sucked
through the fan in the lower part of the room, it is heated, goes up, and then is ventilated in the whole volume
of the cabin. Part of this warm air is then expelled through a second opening duly positioned, called breather.
In this way, the typical sauna climate is recreated and a gradient of the temperature is obtained in the room
volume. The temperature becomes higher getting closer to room ceiling.

The temperature sensor is situated on a
medium-high position, where 85/90°C are
reached at full performance.
During the first starting and subsequent heating of
the wooden structure, there could be emission of
odours caused by the evaporation of the manufac-
turing process products. Owing to the above, it is
important to perform a first empty cycle and to aer-
ate the room before using the product.
The more sauna is used, the better it is main-
tained over time. Wood fears humidity and
dry sauna allows an extended maintaining of
the structure and the interior furnishing.
Use of the breather: In a first room heating phase, to reach the suitable temperature, the air outlet hole must
be kept closed, while, at full performance, the recirculation is to be ensured, therefore the opening of the
grid must be guaranteed.
Use of the stove: The stove can be activated only in presence of stones. These are to be evenly distributed
on all the free surface of the stove in order to equally diffuse heat.
CAUTION! The wrong positioning of stones, their short-
age or forgetfulness may cause serious damages to per-
sons and objects!
When deciding to use the stones to spray water, wait until they
get very hot, spray only small amounts of water and wait them
togethotbeforesprayingagain.UsetheBUCKETandtheLA-
DLE to temporarily increase moisture.
CAUTION! Make sure, before any activation of sauna,
there are NO objects leant against the stove! Inspect the
room before activation.
CAUTION! High temperatures during functioning
may cause burn hazard.
The stove of your Teuco Finnish Sauna Arja is bifunctional.
It permits to obtain a traditional treatment as a dry sauna,
or to enjoy the revolutionary treatment BIO-sauna.
For this reason, there is a compartment intended to produce
hot air (where stones are placed) and another for steam
outlet, called EVAPORATOR, where water is poured.

This variant gives the possibility of disposing of two different
sauna treatments.
The other useful accessories for using sauna are the following:
• a timer to check the permanence time in the room (hourglass);
• a ladle with bucket to sprinkle on hot stones;
• a thermo-hygrometer to measure temperature and humidity values. The values provided by instrumenta-
tion are indicative, there could be deviation also of 10% compared to real values, according to thermo-
hygrometer positioning, its manufacturing features and the typical read delay.
OPERATING MODE
FINNISH SAUNA
In this operating mode, the evaporator is not active. In the essence container, check there are no substances
(herbs or oils), that may catch fire in case of overheating.
Set the required temperature and start the heating phase.
In this first phase, the ventilation grid may be closed to accelerate the room heating. Once having reached
the temperature, keep the grid open.
CAUTION! Functioning of Finnish sauna keeping the grid closed is DANGEROUS for user’s health!
Please note the optimal climate for sauna is reached only after a certain period of time after parameter setting
on the control panel. It may also take 45-60 minutes.
It is an established fact that temperature distribution in sauna is uneven.
Temperature may reach 110°C close to the ceiling and 30/40°C in the floor area.
In bigger saunas, the presence of benches situated at different heights permit to choose the favourite posi-
tion, according to required temperature.
As a consequence of this particular distribution of inner temperature, it is normal that there are discrepancies
between the temperature values read on the control panel and the ones of the thermo-hygrometer supplied.
A good Finnish sauna is to be taken at 90°C with a relative humidity of about 10%.
Position at the most suitable height according to your own requirements, bearing in mind that temperatures
increase when getting closer to ceiling.
When taking a dry sauna for the first times, it is strongly recommended to expose just for few minutes.
Anyhow, the max. recommended permanence time is 10-15 minutes.
Please note that the dry sauna produces a strong physical impact which somebody could not endure.
CAUTION! Verify your state of health before taking a dry sauna treatment. Consult your doctor for any
eventuality.

CAUTION! If it is required to use perfumed essences in dry sauna, these are to be diluted in water with
supplied bucket (some drops/litre). When water is poured on stones, the diluted scents will emanate.
DO NOT POUR PURE ESSENCES DIRECTLY ON STONES AS THEY MIGHT CATCH FIRE!
BIO-SAUNA
In the bio-sauna mode, also the evaporator is activated.
Before starting the function, insert a certain amount of water into the evaporator tank:

The Bio-sauna function permits to maintain the pre-set temperature and humidity conditions (see table at
page 28); the most suitable values are in a range between 40 - 60 °C and relative humidity of 45 - 55%.
These settings are selected on the control panel before starting the function.
The perfumed essences may be put in the appropriate container, situated above the evaporator outlet.
Scents emanated as a result of hot steam effect are distributed inside the cabin together with the air jet.
When water reserve is finished, a warning buzzer, which can be heard inside the room, sounds.
At this point, the evaporation process of water stops.
IN CASE IT IS REQUIRED TO CONTINUE THE TREATMENT, it is necessary to STOP the BIO-SAUNA
function, by switching the sauna off or entering the Finnish sauna mode. Furthermore, wait at least 5 minutes
before filling the tank with water and re-activate the evaporator functions.
DANGER! NEVER POUR WATER ON THE EVEPORATOR RADIATING ELEMENT, IF INCANDES-
CENT. IN ADDITION TO BURN HAZARD, ELECTRIC HEATERS MAY BE DAMAGED.
CAUTION! Pour the perfumed essences to be sprayed only on the appropriate tray. Do not use infusion
extracts for sauna!
CAUTION! When using essences for sauna, always utilize first quality products having references, to
prevent risks for user’s health.
CAUTION! In case the evaporator tank water is additivated by mistake, empty the tank through the
proper tap situated on its bottom. To carry out the operation, wait the tank to cool down, empty it and
wash it with a cloth soaked in alcohol. Even small essence residues on the evaporator sides may jeop-
ardize its functioning.
CAUTION! Do not use sachets of aromatic or unpacked herbs as they might get hot, particularly in the
absence of evaporation. FIRE HAZARD.
For safety reason, use aromatic herbs contained in aluminium sachets only.
The bio-sauna function has a lower impact on the body, therefore it can be endured by most people, espe-
cially by persons who take heat treatment for the first time.
The optimal conditions of a BIO-sauna treatment are a temperature of approximately 60°C and a 50% rela-
tive humidity.
BIO-sauna provides the same effects of a traditional dry sauna, but in a more delicate manner and it is par-
ticularly suitable to people who do not like intense heat.

HOW TO TAKE SAUNA
To take a dry sauna treatment, good health conditions and a towel are necessary.
• Do not take sauna on a full stomach. Eat just some fruit and drink non-alcoholic beverages.
• Take a preliminary warm shower first. Wash and dry off thoroughly. This step is important to open skin
pores.
• Do not wear metal personal effects (watch, rings, necklaces, earrings, contact lenses, etc.) as they might
overheat or cause irritation.
• Enter sauna and rotate the hourglass. Stay seated or lie down in total relax for the suitable duration of
time: the perspiration effect will start after few minutes. Should heat be too high, position yourself initially
on lower benches, then move to the higher ones once being acclimated.
• A couple of minutes before exit, pour a ladle of water onto the stove stones. Water must not be too much,
but sufficient for evaporating immediately without “wetting” stones (approx.ly 100 ml); furthermore, it is
necessary to wait at least 10 minutes between an operation and the following one. A burst of heat will be
felt, increasing transpiration.
• After the max. set time has elapsed checking the hourglass, or at the early symptom of malaise or fatigue,
exit sauna.
• Complete the cycle with a warm or cold shower which permits to stimulate and rebalance the body. At the
end of shower, bathe your feet.
• Take a relaxing break lying down or sitting for some minutes, drinking refreshing and vitaminised bever-
ages.
• The procedure can be repeated by entering sauna again.
HOW TO TAKE THE COLD SHOWER
Cold shower is important to stimulate circulation of blood.
Using the low pressure shower, sprinkle on the right foot first, going up to the external part of knee, and then
go down along the internal part and return to foot.
Repeat the procedure, reaching the groin. Repeat the procedure on the other leg. Proceed then with arms fol-
lowing the same principle: with the first passage you go up to the elbow, subsequently to shoulder. Continue
with chest, face and finally back.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
POWER THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM UP
Position the main switch/disconnecting switch to
ON, predisposed in installation phase.
The display backlight goes on at low intensity.
The “TEUCO” logo is shown on the display; all LEDs
are off and no key is active.
This phase has a minimum length of 8” (max 12” in
case of failure to communicate).
During this phase, the presence of the following
alarms is verified:
E1_1 Failure to communicate between
keypad and sauna power
E2_1 Sauna power: Thermal fuse open
E2_2 Sauna power: Faulty temperature

E3 Keypad:EEPROMmemoryfault
After the starting phase, without any other alarm
active and when no automatic switching on is pro-
grammed, the “READY” status is entered, where
date, time and temperature are shown for a few mo-
ments.
In this initialization phase, chromotherapy may go
on automatically for few moments, and then turn off
in automatic.
The system then enters the stand-by phase, where
the display is off and the ON/OFF button is lit
at low intensity.

CONTROL PANEL FUNCTIONALITY
The control panel is equipped with capacitive controls inserted under the covering: this means extremely
clean lines and enhances the aesthetic function of sauna area with its surroundings.
The electronic technology offers a simply and intuitive icon menu, quick-access keys for main functions, high-
visibility colour LCD display for a perfect reading in any environmental lighting conditions.
USER’S INTERFACE
This chapter describes the procedure to carry out on the keypad or power digital inputs to enter the system
functions and signals transmitted through the system to user to indicate the operating state.
General remarks:
1. The visual indications will be signalled through the LCD display and the LEDs lightening key icons.
2. When any valid key is pressed, an acoustic signal (BEEP) is heard and the LED having light blue
backlight corresponding to the key goes on or off according to function to carry out.
3. When the manual specifies the wording: “blinking”, it refers to the fact that the LED lights up in blue
and white alternately.

DISPLAY INTERFACE
Main information about sauna functioning can be read directly on the display.
On the left upper part, the “current date” and the “current time” on the right one are shown.
In the middle of the display the “current temperature” measured in sauna is indicated.
Values on display are purely indicative and concern the position in which the sensor is installed. There
could be deviations between shown values and real ones up to 10%.

USER/BROWSING INTERFACE
Browsing within the whole menu structure is possible by means of the keypad on the right side of the display.
Use the directions cursors to select the function to be entered for visualising the state and/or modify the val-
ues. The white text which is visualised from time to time in negative/underlined during browsing identifies the
function/state that can be visualised and modified.

STARTING THE SYSTEM
READY MENU
After powering up the system, press the ON/OFF
key, the control panel will display the main
menu, showing time, date and current temperature
of sauna. The display backlight and the white LED
corresponding to ON/OFF key go on at high inten-
sity. All the keys (including the ON/OFF key) light up
in white at high intensity.
In this state, it is possible to carry out the following
actions:
• Activate the “chromotherapy” function by press-
ing ;
• to activate the sauna function configuration
screen by means of the key ;
When no key is pressed, after 5 seconds
the system returns to STAND-BY mode, with
related icon on, passing through the
“Homepage”rst.
Each action is confirmed by a “beep” sound.

FUNCTIONS
ONGOING FUNCTIONS (MENU ON)
In this state at least a function is active among the available ones:
• chromotherapy;
• manual sauna;
• automatic sauna.
In this state, it is possible to carry out the following actions:
• Stop sauna function;
• when the sauna function is activated, the temperature and humidity values may be set;
• stop the “AUTO sauna” function, if in programming;
• In case the “AUTO sauna” function is in programming but is not activated yet, the function configuration
screen may be entered with key .
• access the CHROMOTHERAPY function screen (see CHROMOTHERAPY function);
• stop both the SAUNA and CHROMOTHERAPY functions with a single key (ON/OFF key).

VISUALIZATION AND MANAGEMENT OF
SCREENS
The display back-light and all keys are lit with white
light at high intensity.
In case an automatic switching on is programmed,
the “sauna” icon, associated to key , blinks
LIGHT BLUE 1”ON/1”OFF (slowly).
Example: only automatic sauna active.
Example: only chromotherapy active (ON/OFF
mode).
The display shows date, time and current tempera-
ture inside the sauna.
If there is just SAUNA or just CHROMOTHERAPY,
the screen corresponding to the current active func-
tion is displayed; if another function is also activat-
ed, a priority was assigned to the various function
screens.
The SAUNA function screen has priority over the
CHROMOTHERAPY function screen
Example: only the CHROMOTHERAPY function ac-
tive, with P1 colour program.
Priority management example: sauna + chromo-

ON/OFF FUNCTIONS
When one or both sauna and chromotherapy func-
tions are active, pressing the “ON/OFF” key
will turn them off with a single key.
By pressing “ON/OFF” without ongoing active
functions, the system is not affected.
The “automatic sauna” function is not affected
by the ON/OFF function.
STANDBY
The keypad enters this mode after 5” of permanence
in the “READY” state (no active function and without
key pressing).
No visualization on display, LCD backlight and all
LEDs off, except ON/OFF active at low intensity.
In this state, it is possible to carry out the following
actions:

BIO-SAUNA FUNCTION
(IF PRESENT)
The Bio-sauna function is activated by setting a val-
ue between 10% and 100% of the relative humidity
value situated on the lower side of display.
ACTIVE BIO-SAUNA
When the function is activated both in manual mode
and in automatic, the SAUNA key is lit in a
steady BLUE light at high intensity, while the display
shows:
• current sauna temperature;
• current sauna humidity;
• remaining time before function end;
• the indication whether the function was activat-
ed in manual (MAN) or by means of a program
(AUTO).
When sauna is active, there are no functional
differences according to activation mode; in
both cases, only the set-point can be modi-
fied.
Display indication example: the sauna function was
activated in MANUAL or AUTOMATIC mode, the in-
ner temperature of sauna is 90°C, the inner humidity
of sauna is 30%, there are still 40 minutes left before
the set time elapses and the set-point modification
is active.
The function is stopped carrying out the following
action:
1. by pressing the “On/Off” key ;
2. by pressing the key for 1.5”;
3. when operating time elapses.

The set-point temperature and humidity values can
bemodiedusingthe and keys at any
time.
When one of the or , keys are pressed,
the temperature digits are replaced with the set-
point value in negative to indicate access to “set-
point modification” mode; press the key again to
change the values.
After 3” of inactivity of the and , keys,
you quit “set-point modification” mode, the tempera-
ture goes back to being displayed but not in nega-
tive and the new set-point temperature value be-
comes operational.
The same procedure must be carried out to modify
the humidity set-point, after selecting it using the
and keys.
When the temperature set-point value chang-
es, the system changes the humidity value
automatically, and vice versa, in order to
maintain usage conditions that do not jeop-
ardise the health of the product user.
Thresholds of temperature and humidity setting are
as follows:
