Introduction
1. Introduction
Congratulations and thank you for choosing our instant water heater� The instruction contains
important information about commissioning, switching the device on and maintenance� To en-
sure your safety and that of others, we recommend you read through this safety manual care-
fully� Please refer to the back of the manual for details about the warranty� Keep this manual for
future reference�
If you lose the manual, contact your local distributor or manufacturer� When you call, please tell
us the model number and the serial number of your unit written on the rating plate of the water
heater�

Use Of The Manual
2. Use Of The Manual
The appliance is not to be installed in locations where freezing can occur.
The resistivity of the water supply must not be less than 1300 Ω•cm.
The appliance must be permanently connected to fixed wiring.
The appliance must be earthed properly!
The appliance must be connected to a earth leakage circuit breaker.
The appliance is close-outlet type, the water connection of this appliance must be
connected to unvented water heating system.
Please refer to installation drawing part for how the appliance is to be fixed to its
support.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a
safe way and understand the hazards involved�
Children shall not play with the appliance� Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be
made by children without supervision�

Standards and regulations
The installation (plumbing and electrical work), commissioning and maintenance of this
appliance should only be undertaken by personnel with electrical engineering qualifica-
tions and in accordance with the relevant standards and regulations (BSI, etc�) and this
manual�
The following should also be observed:
• The appliance name plate;
• The technical specifications�
Connection to the water supply
Compatible cold water pipe materials: steel, copper and plastic�
3. Mounting Instructions
Electrical installation
The Elex 3�5 (Pro) can be connected with power plug, other models may only be con-
nected to a fixed cable�
It should be possible to isolate the device from the mains supply on all poles by fuses or
other means which provide a gap of at least 3mm! A leakage protection switch must be
installed�
The device has been prepared for connection to the electrical supply�
Elex 3.5L (Pro) requires a 110-127V, single-phase supply, other models require a
220-240V, single-phase supply. Please take reference of the rating plate on device.
If the electrical installation does not meet these requirements then it will need to
be modified. This should be done by a qualified electrical installer, in accordance
with the relevant regulations (IEEE, etc.).

Tools
You will require the following tools for the installation:
• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Open-ended spanner 15mm(5/8”) and 24mm(1”)
• Teflon tape
• Drill
• 8mm(9/16”) stone or concrete drilling bits
• Pencil
• Adhesive tape
• Wire stripper
Environment
To prevent damage during transport, this unit is supplied in robust packaging� Please
recycle the packaging where possible�
Disposal of the appliance
Old appliances must not be disposed of in your household waste!
Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of old appliances separately from their
household waste and to take them, for example, to a collection point in their local com-
munity or local district� Old electrical appliances will be accepted there free of charge�
This ensures that the old appliances are properly recycled and any negative impacts
on the environment are avoided� This is why electrical appliances are marked with the
symbol shown on the left�
Preparing for installation
The water and electricity supply need to be available at the place where the device is to
be supplied�
The installation location for the appliance should keep away from the shower�
Remove the appliance from the wall bracket
Put the wide screwdriver tip into the interlock between the water connections until it
stops, then press slightly upwards ①, tilt the appliance forward by max� 15° ②and
remove it upwards ③�

Frost
The appliance is not to be installed in locations where freezing can occur.
The device should be installed in a vertical position in a room protected from frost and
in the proximity of the water connections�
In case the room cannot be protected against frost, the device should not be installed in
this room� Should the device be installed in such a room, the device should be emptied
before the frost danger will occur�
Do not switch on if there is a possibility that the water in the device is frozen�
Connection to the water supply
Blue = cold water entry side (for filling)
Red = hot water exit side (hot water demand)
The Elex 3�5(L)/4�5/5/5�5/6 (Pro) are designed for use normal pressure systems� This
system allows water to be drawn from multi point use�
The water supply pipe and water discharge pipe are marked on the rating plate cover (red
for hot water, blue for cold water)�
Connection to the electricity supply
Connection of the appliance to the power supply network must take place in accordance
with the NEC, IEC and as specified by local laws and regulations�
The appliance must be earthed properly!
The appliance must be connected to a earth leakage circuit breaker.
Make sure the power is switched off before removing the cov-
er of the appliance!
Internal modifications to the product may cause problems if this work is not car-
ried out by authorized and qualified technical persons. The warranty only applies
if the product has not been modified in any way, i.e. subject to it being in un-
changed condition.

The appliance must be earthed properly!
The filter mat contained in accessory bag must be installed when connecting with
inlet(cold) water pipe or hose!
Earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed with the appliance, please take
page.12 to 13 for the selection of breaker.
Please verify the voltage of power supply before installation!
Drawing A - Installation as undersink model
The device must be installed as shown in the installation drawing for under-sink instal-
lation on the page�8 of this manual�
1� Mount the bracket on the wall and fix using two screws in the accessory bag, the
bracket should be upward�
2� Place the appliance on the wall bracket and snap it into position� The outlets of appli-
ance should be upward�
3� Tap connection: Cold water inlet (blue) and hot water outlet (red) are marked on the
rating plate (under the rating plate cover)� Connect the appropriate pipe or hose of
the sanitary tap with the red-marked hot water outlet�
4� Plug in the power plug (4a) or connect the power cable L/L1, N/L2 and GND to the
power supply (4b), then switch on the circuit breaker�
Make sure the supply voltage meet the requirement of the appliance before
switch on the breaker!
Drawing B - Installation as oversink model
The device must be installed as shown in the installation drawing for over-sink installa-
tion on the page�9 of this manual�
1� Mount the bracket on the wall and fix using two screws in the accessory bag, the
bracket should be downward�
2� Place the appliance on the wall bracket and snap it into position� The outlets of appli-
ance should be downward�
3� Tap connection: Cold water inlet (blue) and hot water outlet (red) are marked on the
rating plate (under the rating plate cover)� Connect the appropriate pipe or hose of
the sanitary tap with the red-marked hot water outlet�
4� Plug in the power plug (4a) or connect the power cable L/L1, N/L2 and GND to the
power supply (4b), then switch on the circuit breaker�

5. User Manual
To prevent damage to the appliance, the instant water heater must be purged of
air before using it for the first time.
How to use (Elex Mini Pro Series)
Elex Mini Pro series with LED display can detect the undersink/oversink installa-
tion automatically, and make sure the display properly.
LEDs
Touch Keys
Step 0 Switch on the electric power, open the hot-water tap, and wait for a
short power-up delay (appox� 13 secs)�
Step 1 Keep the hot-water tap opening, touch “ █” to light on the touch keys,
then touch “ █” again to turn on the appliance� The LED will display
current outlet temperature setting for 2 secs then switch to display the
real time outlet temperature�
Step 2 Keep the hot-water tap opening, set desired outlet temperature, touch
“” to decrease or “” to increase the outlet temperature� The LED
will keep displaying the setting temperature for 2 secs, then begin to
display the real time outlet temperature� If needed, adjust the max� wa-
ter flow rate ( see page�17 )�
Step 3 Close the hot-water tap, the LED will light off immediately, the touch
key “ █”, “” and “” will light off after 3 secs delay�
Note:
1� Step 0 is only valid after every-time switch off the electric power�
2� After completing Step 3, opening the hot-water tap again will wake up the appliance
automatically and the LED will display the real time outlet temperature�
How to use (Elex Mini Basic Series)
Simply connect the power supply and inlet/outlet, open the tap for about 15 secs
before switching on power supply, then switching on power supply, the water
heater will start working.

How to adjust the maximum water flow rate
May only be carried out by a specialist.

Step 1 Push the cover at the corrugation towards the wall bracket�
Step 2 Press the cover down at the rear corners until the front edge lifts�
Step 3 Remove the cover by pulling forward�
Step 4 Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to decrease the maximum flow rate,
turn the adjusting screw counter-clockwise to increase the maximum
flow rate�
If the selected outflow temperature is not reached when the tap is fully opened, then the
water flow through the device exceeds the capacity of the device� In this case, the flow
should be reduced with the hot water valve� There is a danger of scalding at outflow
temperatures exceeding 43°C (109°F)�
Mixer taps and thermostatic mixer taps should be of a design compatible with
devices with flow control.
Suggestion: To ensure that the minimum flow (switch-on flow) of a water-pressure op-
erated device is reached, the pressure loss (head loss) of the device, fittings, hose and
piping should all be considered when installing the device�
The device should be isolated from the electricity supply before any work is done
on live components.
Remove the fuses or isolate the device in another way.

Maintenance
The main water valve should be closed before any work is done on the water pipe.
If the water supply is interrupted, e.g. due to maintenance on the mains water
supply, then the following steps should be undertaken before returning the device
to operation:
1. Remove the fuses or isolate the device in another way.
2. Open a hot water valve connected to the device until the air is vented from both
the device and the cold-water supply pipe.
3. Replace the fuses or reconnect the supply.
6. Maintenance
Maintenance
This device does not require any maintenance by the user� Professional maintenance
may only be carried out by duly authorized technical staff� Maintenance, e�g� verifying
electrical safety, should only be undertaken by a qualified electrician, observing the rel-
evant regulations (IEEE, etc�)�
If faulty, please take follow the trouble shooting in page.19 to make the diagno-
sis. If still have problem, never try to repair the hot water device yourself, please
contact the nearest service specialist for help.
Care
The enclosure can simply be cleaned with a damp cloth� Do not use aggressive cleaners
or cleaner’s with a scouring effect!
Legislation prevention
Do not use heated water as drinking water�
After prolonged shutdown of the device for example after vacation, pipes should be
flushed for one minute�
Check the filter which is incorporated in the cold water inlet of the device (blue) regular-
ly and keep it free from debris and dirt� This can be accessed by separating the device
from the tap� Make sure you have switched off the main power supply and the main
water supply�

8. Warranty Conditions
Warranty The rights under this manufacturer’s warranty shall apply in addition to
the buyer’s statutory rights� This warranty shall in no way restrict the buy-
er’s statutory rights in particularly towards the seller�
Entitlement The claiming of rights under this warranty shall be subject to the submis-
sion of the respective proof of purchase�
Content We shall guarantee as the manufacturer that this product is free of mate-
rial and manufacturing errors� Material and manufacturing errors arising
during the warranty period shall justify the rights under the warranty� This
warranty shall not cover errors due to improper installation or incorrect
usage, incorrect operating conditions or defective maintenance or repair
work�
Normal wear and tear such as lime scaling shall also be excluded under
this warranty� The warranty will not be valid if the problem is caused by
extreme values of drinking water (pH value not between 7 and 9�5 and/or
Cl above 150 mg/l and/or Fe above 0�2mg/l)�
Claims The warranty shall be valid for 24 months� The warranty period shall com-
mence on the day on which the product is purchased� Warranty services
provided shall neither prolong the warranty period nor initiate a new war-
ranty period�
Invalidity of
warranty
Attempted repairs carried out by a customer or third party that are not
authorized by us shall invalidate the warranty� The same shall apply if
parts are installed in the product or connected to the product that are not
original parts from us�
Restriction This warranty shall be restricted to rectification and subsequent delivery�
This warranty shall not include compensation, withdrawal from the agree-
