STEP 1 MOUNT CP4 LOCKING ENCLOSURE
Find a location for the CP4 recorder Box and Locking enclosure. Example: Under Drivers Seat.
Ensure locking enclosure is securely affixed to the vehicle in a level horizontal position with SD
card facing the REAR of the vehicle.
Ensure client will have access to unlock enclosure to access the SD card.

Getting Started
Park the vehicle on a flat surface and ensure the engine is off.

STEP 2 MOUNT GPS AND CELLULAR ANTENNAS
Failure to adhere to these suggestions will result in a weak GPS and/or Cellular signal and will affect
the performance of the device.
Secure in upper portion of dash in a hidden location with top of antenna facing skyward.
Example: Above instrument cluster.
Do not cover with metal or position near any source of interference (Vehicle Radio, BCM). Keep a
safe distance of at least 24”.
Do NOT attach the LTE antenna to a metal surface.
Provide a minimum distance of 5 inches of separation between the GPS and Cellular antenna.
STEP 4 MOUNT CAMERA(S)
Windshield mounting:
a) Preparation
Ensure glass surface is clean and dry (important!)
Glass temperature should not be too hot or cold (between 50F (10C) and 80F (27C).
b) Mounting
Adjust bracket by rotating to the desired angle. Important! Tighten security screws to lock position.
Remove protective film from camera lens.
Attach the provided 3M adhesive pad to the bracket and press firmly. [Ensure glass is clean and
dry BEFORE attaching]
Secure to windshield behind the rear view mirror as high on the windshield as possible but still
within the windshield wiper zone. FMCSA mandates the camera portion of the device should
reside within the top 2 inches of the vehicle wiper sweep. [Hold firm pressure for 30 seconds].
Other Mounting:
Ensure camera is firmly mounted in a position that will give the client the required camera angle.
Important! Tighten the security screws to lock position (if applicable).
Recommend mounting in a position where camera lens will stay as clean as possible.
STEP 3 MOUNT REMOTE CONTROL AND AUDIO MICROPHONE
We recommend consulting with the client as to their preferred
locations for these items.
Prepare surface and affix the Remote Control onto dash
within reach of the driver.
Prepare surface and affix the Audio Microphone in a
suitable location.
The CP4 can accommodate up to four cameras. These can be a combination of indoor and/or outdoor
cameras. We recommend consulting with the client as to their preferred mounting location(s) and
camera angle(s). Please see below for some mounting suggestions;

Wiring Connections
Confirm with the client as to which optional connections are required. Required connections include
Power, Ground and Ignition. Optional connections are listed below.
Other mounting locations:
Select an appropriate location as per the clients direction, and mount the camera. Be sure to orient
the camera with the correct side facing up
Windshield
Camera lens
IMPORTANT: Ensure that any mounting location does not interfere with any vehicle operations including
airbags or driver line of sight.

STEP 5 CONNECT IGNITION
In order to function properly the device needs to be connected to a suitable “True” Ignition source
This source has battery voltage whenever the vehicle is turned on and zero volts whenever the
vehicle is turned off.
This source does NOT drop in voltage during crank.
Connect the White wire of the Power Cable harness to this ignition source.
STEP 6 CONNECT CONSTANT POWER
The device requires a minimum 12V constant [Battery Power] on this line to function. [Max 24v].
Do not remove/bypass the fuse
Connect the Red wire of the Power Cable harness to this constant source.
STEP 7 CONNECT GROUND
For best results, create a new connection to bare-metal chassis ground
Do not use a shared ground or supplied ground from any module or device
Connect the Black wire of the Power Cable harness to this ground.
STEP 8 CONNECT OTHER WIRING (AUDIO/VIDEO CABLE) – OPTIONAL
If directed by the client, connect other optional wires as necessary.
STEP 9 ROUTE AND CONNECT CAMERA(S)
Connect each camera to a Camera Extension Cable then to the appropriate channel on the Camera Input Cable.
Channel 1 is the shortest connector. Each channel connector increases in length with Channel 4
being the longest.
IMPORTANT: Channel 1 MUST be used for the windshield mount camera (These cameras will have
an "A" in the part#).
Ensure the security screw for each camera is tightened once final location is determined.

STEP 10 ROUTE AND CONNECT HARNESSES
a) Route and connect Camera Input Harness (4ch) to "Video In" input on CP4 Recorder Box.
b) Route and connect Remote Control to "Remote" input on CP4 Recorder Box.
c) Route and connect GPS Antenna to "GPS Input" on CP4 Recorder Box.
d) Connect Audio/Video Cable to "AV Out/Alarm" input on CP4 Recorder Box.
e) Route and connect Cellular Antenna to the 2 matching connectors on CP4 Recorder Box.
Important! The connectors are interchangeable.
f) Route and connect 4 pin power cable to "Power" connector on CP4 Recorder Box.

STEP 11 G-SENSOR CALIBRATION
To properly calibrate the G-Sensor, the CP4 Recorder MUST be installed with the top facing up, and
the SD card facing the rear of the vehicle. Calibration is completed using the Remote Control.
a) Start the vehicle and wait until both Blue and Green LED’s on
the Remote Control are solid. (Wait up to 5 minutes)
b) Press and hold M1 button (you will hear a beep), continuing
holding until a 2nd beep, release M1 button.
c) Calibration will then automatically complete within 2 seconds.

STEP 12 COMPLETE FINAL CABLE ROUTING AND CLOSE LOCKING ENCLOSURE
a) Insert CP4 into Locking Enclosure
CP4 must be level AND horizontal with correct side skyward AND SD Card slot facing the REAR of
the vehicle.
CP4 must be accessible so the client can unlock and access the SD Card.
b) Route all cables through the Locking Enclosure so that it can easily close.
c) Close and LOCK the Enclosure.

STEP 14 ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS
Give provided locking keys and any extra parts/accessories to the fleet owner/administrator.
