TK Audio Transceiver 2 User manual

Transceiver 2
Universal insert station
www.tkaudio.se
The Transceiver 2 is a universal tool both in studio and on stage.
The main function is to convert balanced signals into unbalanced and back again
without losing any signal quality.
Each channel is equipped with a send level, return gain control, return polari-
ty switch and a blend control. With the new blend function you can choose how
much of the inserted effect you want to mix in. The Transceiver 2 is a transfor-
merless balanced design for the best possible signal handling, a flat frequency
response, low harmonic distortion and low noise.
Both the balanced output and the unbalanced send has a high driving capability to
drive input transformers.
• Insert your unbalanced gear such as guitar pedals and old echo fx into
your DAW or console via the Transceiver 2.
• Active Di-box with up to +20dB of gain. Plug your favorite instrument
into your collection of vintage gear via the Transceiver 2.
• A re-amping tool.
• A universal tool on stage. Connect balanced gear on stage between
your instrument and amp.
• Blend function for the inserted units.

Impedance and level matching
Adjust the send level so you
don’t overload the pedal, then
use the gain for level make-up
after the pedal.
1. Hook up your guitar and amp with a “Y”
splitter connected to the Transceiver 2 return.
Adjust the amp for your wanted sound and
use the Transceiver2 gain control to adjust the
level of the direct guitar signal that feeds your
2. The guitar signal can also be fed through your DAW
and then back to the amp.
Lower the send level control and move the cable that
feeds the amp to the send output instead. Now adjust
the send control so you get the same amp level as you
got when the amp was connected to the “Y” splitter.
By connecting the amp this way you can recreate the
sound from this set-up 100% by feeding the recorded
direct signal to the amp again (as long as the amp is the
same and controls adjusted the same).
Because of the high input impedance (1 Mohm)
it’s a perfect Di-box for bass and guitars with
passiv pickups. The balanced output can easily
drive a 600 ohm transformer balanced preamp
input.
Use your balanced studio gear on stage.
Use it as
a Di-box
with high
driving
capability.
