n
Carpets: Use the floor nozzle with the lever in this position.
o
Hard floors: Use the floor nozzle with the lever in
this position.
p
Loose rugs/curtains/lightweight fabrics: Reduce the
suction power. Use the floor nozzle for loose rugs and the
upholstery nozzle for curtains, cushions etc.
q
Lamps, pictures and bookshel es: 1132 Use the dusting
rush.
r
Confined areas: Use the crevice nozzle for crevices, corners
and radiators.
Dust bag indicator and changing the dust bag
For peak performance the dust ag must e changed when
full. If the dust ag reaks in the cleaner, the Elyps must e
taken to an Authorised Service Centre for cleaning. The dust
ag indicator window will gradually turn red when filling
and completely red when full.
To check the dust ag, the cleaner must e switched on,
with all attachments connected and off the floor.
The dust ag full indicator may signify that the ag is
locked (occasionally caused y very fine dust) which will
cause loss of suction and may result in overheating. If this
occurs change the dust ag even if it is not full.
To change the dust bag:
A Release catch and swing ack lid efore removing the
dust ag, end the ta into the hole to prevent dust
escaping
B Remove the dust ag
C Insert new dust ag y fitting the ag slots over holders.
We recommend the dust bag is changed:
*
after using a carpet cleaning powder
*
if there is a ad smell from the cleaner, when you should
also change the filter.
Note: Use only original dust bags and filters
Dust bag safety de ice
To avoid damaging the cleaner do not use it without a dust
ag. A safety device is fitted which prevents the cover closing
without a dust ag. Do not attempt to force cover shut.
Changing the filters
These should e changed every fifth dust ag. Never use the
cleaner without the motor protection filter.
To change filters:
a) Lift lid, remove dust ag and filter
) Insert new filter, replace dust ag and close.
There is also an exhaust filter.
To change it:
a) Lift rear grill and remove filter
) Insert new filter and replace grill.
Troubleshooting
1. Power: If the electric power does not come on,
disconnect from mains and check plugs, ca le and fuses
where appropriate.
2. Blockages/dirty filters: The cleaner may switch itself
off in the event of a severe lockage or excessively dirty
filter(s). In such cases, disconnect from mains and allow
to cool for 20-30 minutes. Clear lockage and/or replace
filter(s) and restart.
1132 model features a safety valve. The valve feeds
cool air to the machine in case the hose or tu e is locked.
The valve may also trigger e.g. when vacuum cleaning
carpets or other soft materials. When the nozzle is lifted,
the valve is reset.
If the safety valve triggers repeatedly during normal use,
check and remedy any lockage in the hose, tu es, nozzle
or filters.
The clearing of locked hoses is not covered y the guarantee.
To avoid lockages and maintain suction efficiency, the floor
nozzles should e cleaned regularly using the hose handle.
3. Water: If water is sucked into the cleaner the motor must
e changed at an Authorised Service Centre.
