Preparation
•Neverattempttomakeanyadjustmentswhiletheengine
isrunning,exceptwhenspecicallyrecommendedby
Toro.
•Theoperationofanypoweredmachinecanresultin
foreignobjectsbeingthrownintotheeyes.Alwayswear
safetyglassesoreyeshieldsduringoperationorwhile
performinganadjustmentorrepair.
•Wearappropriateclothingincludingsubstantialfootwear,
safetyglassesoreyeshields,longpants,andhearing
protection.
Operation
•Donotputhandsorfeetnearorunderrotatingparts.
•Exerciseextremecautionwhenoperatingonorcrossing
graveldrives,walks,orroads.Stayalertforhidden
hazardsortrafc.Donotcarrypassengers.
•Afterstrikingaforeignobject,turnthekeyintheignition
switchtotheOFFposition,cycletheauxiliary-hydraulics
lever,disconnectthehydrauliclines,thoroughlyinspect
thetrenchllerforanydamage,andrepairthedamage
beforerestartingandoperatingthetrenchller.
•Iftheunitshouldstarttovibrateabnormally,turn
thekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOFFpositionand
checkimmediatelyforthecause.Vibrationisgenerally
awarningoftrouble.
•Stoptheenginewheneveryouleavetheoperating
position,beforeuncloggingtheauger/impellerhousing
ordischargechute,andwhenmakinganyrepairs,
adjustments,orinspections.
•Whencleaning,repairing,orinspecting,turnthekeyin
theignitionswitchtotheOFFposition,makecertain
theauger/impellerandallmovingpartshavestopped,
cycletheauxiliary-hydraulicslever,anddisconnectthe
hydrauliclines.
•Keepchildrenandpetsaway.
•Donotoverloadthemachinecapacitybyattemptingto
backlltoofast.
•Lookbehindandusecarewhenbackingupwiththe
machine.
•Neveroperatethemachineathightransportspeedson
slipperysurfaces.
•Keepbystandersawayfromthefrontoftheunit.
•Disengagepowertotheauger/impellerwhenthetrench
lleristransportedornotinuse.
•Neveroperatethetrenchllerwithoutgoodvisibilityor
light.
•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.Iflightning
isseenorthunderisheardinthearea,donotoperate
themachine;seekshelter.
MaintenanceandStorage
•Checkfastenersatfrequentintervalsforpropertightness
tobesuretheequipmentisinsafeworkingcondition.
•AlwaysrefertotheOperator’sManualforimportantdetails
ifthetrenchlleristobestoredforanextendedperiod.
•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,as
necessary.

•Therotatingauger/impellerorrotorbladescancutoff
orinjurengersorhands.Stayintheoperator’sposition
andawayfromthedischargeopeningwhileoperating
thetrenchller.Keepyourfacehands,feet,andany
otherpartofyourbodyorclothingawayfromconcealed,
moving,orrotatingparts.
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,repairing,andinspectingthe
trenchller,andbeforeuncloggingthedischargechute,
turnthekeyintheignitionswitchtotheOFFposition,
removethekey,andwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
Also,cycletheauxiliary-hydraulicsleveranddisconnect
thehydrauliclines.
•Beforeleavingtheoperator’sposition,turnthekeyinthe
ignitionswitchtotheOFFposition,removethekey,and
waitforallmovingpartstostop.
•Alwayswearsubstantialfootwear.
•Ifashield,safetydevice,ordecalisdamaged,illegible,or
lost,repairorreplaceitbeforebeginningoperation.Also,
tightenanyloosefasteners.
•Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructionsdescribed
inthismanual.Beforeperforminganymaintenance,
service,oradjustment,turnthekeyintheignition
switchtotheOFFposition,removethekey,cyclethe
auxiliary-hydraulicslever,anddisconnectthehydraulic
lines.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneeded,contactyour
AuthorizedToroServiceDealer.
•Toensureoptimumperformanceandcontinuedsafety
certicationofthemachine,useonlygenuineToro

replacementpartsandaccessories.Replacementparts
andaccessoriesmadebyothermanufacturerscouldbe

3.Slowlylowerthetrenchllertothegroundsothatthe
augerisjustabovetheground.
4.Forbestresults,startwiththeoatrollerscenteredin
theoatguide.
5.Slowlymovethetractionunitforwardtollthetrench.
Note:Whenyoumovetoofast,thetrenchllerstalls.
Ifitstalls,raiseitslightly,slowlydriverearward,then

OwnerResponsibilities
YoumustmaintainyourT oroProductbyfollowingthemaintenance
proceduresdescribedintheOperator’sManual.Suchroutinemaintenance,
whetherperformedbyadealerorbyyou,isatyourexpense.Parts
scheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenance(“MaintenanceParts”),
arewarrantedfortheperiodoftimeuptothescheduledreplacementtime
forthatpart.Failuretoperformrequiredmaintenanceandadjustmentscan
begroundsfordisallowingawarrantyclaim.
ItemsandConditionsNotCovered
Notallproductfailuresormalfunctionsthatoccurduringthewarrantyperiod
aredefectsinmaterialsorworkmanship.Thisexpresswarrantydoesnot
coverthefollowing:
•Productfailureswhichresultfromtheuseofnon-T ororeplacement
parts,orfrominstallationanduseofadd-on,modied,orunapproved
accessories
•Productfailureswhichresultfromfailuretoperformrequired
maintenanceand/oradjustments
•ProductfailureswhichresultfromoperatingtheProductinanabusive,
negligentorrecklessmanner
•Partssubjecttoconsumptionthroughuseunlessfoundtobedefective.
Examplesofpartswhichareconsumed,orusedup,duringnormal
productoperationinclude,butarenotlimitedto,belts,wipers,spark
plugs,tires,lters,gaskets,wearplates,seals,O-rings,drivechains,
clutches.
•Failurescausedbyoutsideinuence.Itemsconsideredtobeoutside
inuenceinclude,butarenotlimitedto,weather,storagepractices,
contamination,useofunapprovedcoolants,lubricants,additives,or
chemicals,etc.
•Normal“wearandtear”items.Normal“wearandtear”includes,butis
notlimitedto,wornpaintedsurfaces,scratcheddecals,etc.
•Repairsnecessaryduetofailuretofollowrecommendedfuel
procedure(consultOperator'sManualformoredetails)
–Removingcontaminantsfromthefuelsystemisnotcovered
–Useofoldfuel(morethanonemonthold)orfuelwhichcontains
morethan10%ethanolormorethat15%MTBE
–Failuretodrainthefuelsystempriortoanyperiodofnon-use
overonemonth

Dealerisyoursoleremedyunderthiswarranty.
NeitherTheToroCompanynorToroWarrantyCompanyisliablefor
indirect,incidentalorconsequentialdamagesinconnectionwiththe
useoftheToroProductscoveredbythiswarranty,includingany
costorexpenseofprovidingsubstituteequipmentorserviceduring
reasonableperiodsofmalfunctionornon-usependingcompletionof
repairsunderthiswarranty.Allimpliedwarrantiesofmerchantability
andtnessforusearelimitedtothedurationofthisexpresswarranty.
Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsofincidentalorconsequential
damages,orlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sothe
aboveexclusionsandlimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.
Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveother
rightswhichvaryfromstatetostate.
ExceptfortheenginewarrantycoverageandtheEmissionswarranty
referencedbelow,ifapplicable,thereisnootherexpresswarranty.The
EmissionsControlSystemonyourProductmaybecoveredbyaseparate
warrantymeetingrequirementsestablishedbytheU.S.Environmental
ProtectionAgency(EPA)ortheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoard(CARB).
