(18inch)deep.Theentrancetrenchmustbeatleast2.13m
(7feet)longandtheexittrench0.91m(3feet)to1.8m(6
feet)long.Theentrancetrenchshouldbeperpendicularto
thewalkordrivewayFigure4andtheexittrenchshouldbe
paralleltothewalkordriveway.Theexittrenchshouldbe
centeredacrossfromtheentrancetrench(Figure4).

5.Withthepersonguidingtheboringbitpositionedto
therightofthetrench(Figure5),starttheengine,
movethepumpselectorvalvetoslow(turtle)(200and
300seriestractionunitsonly),positionthethrottle
towithinthemiddleoftherpmrange,andpullthe
auxiliaryhydraulicsleverrearwardtostarttheforward
rotationoftheboringbit.
6.Slowlymovethetractionunitforward,whiletheperson
withtherod-guidetoolguidestheboringbitintothe
soil(Figure5).
7.Oncetheentiredrillbitisinthesoil,pushtheauxiliary
hydraulicsleverintoneutral.
8.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
9.Iftherodisnotwithinthegradetolerancesforthejob
beingperformed,starttheengineanddrivebackward
topulltheboringbitoutofthesoil,thenrepeatsteps5
through9,makingadjustmentstocorrectthegrade.
10.Removetherod-guidetool.
11.Starttheengineandpulltheauxiliaryhydraulicslever
rearwardtostarttheboringbit.
12.Slowlymovethetractionunitforwardastheboring
bitdigsintothesoil.
Important:Donotdrivetoofast,forcingthebit
intothesoil.Allowthebittoprogressatitsown
rate.Neverpushorpullthebitthroughthesoil
whenthedriveheadisnotturning.
13.Whenabout15cm(6inches)ofrodareleftshowingin
theentrancetrenchorwhentheboringbitcompletely
entersandboresintothefarsideoftheexittrench,
stopthetractionunit,pushtheauxiliaryhydraulics
leverintoneutral,andstoptheengine.
14.Iftheboringbithasnotyetenteredtheexittrench,
completethefollowing:
A.Detachtherodfromthedrivehead.
B.Starttheengineandbackuptotheendofthe
entrancetrench.
C.Stopengineandwaitforallmovingpartstostop.
D.Connectanotherrodandrepeatsteps11through
14.
ReamingtheHole
1.Withashovel,carefullydigaroundtheboringbit,
clearingitofsoiluntilitcanberemoved(Figure6).

C.Stoptheengineandwaitforallmovingpartsto
stop.
D.Connectthedriveheadtotherodshaftinthesoil.
E.Repeatsteps4through7.

trench,removethecableorpipingfromthereamer.

•Failurescausedbyoutsideinuence.Conditionsconsideredtobe
outsideinuenceinclude,butarenotlimitedto,weather,storage
practices,contamination,useofunapprovedfuels,coolants,lubricants,
additives,water,orchemicals,etc.
•Failureorperformanceissuesduetotheuseoffuels(e.g.gasoline,
diesel,orbiodiesel)thatdonotconformtotheirrespectiveindustry
standards.
•Normalnoise,vibration,wearandtear,anddeterioration.
•Normal“wearandtear”includes,butisnotlimitedto,damagetoseats
duetowearorabrasion,wornpaintedsurfaces,scratcheddecals,etc.
•Haulingexpenses,traveltime,mileage,orovertimeassociatedwith
transportingproducttotheauthorizedT orodealer.
Parts
Partsscheduledforreplacementasrequiredmaintenanceinthe
Operator’sManual,arewarrantedfortheperiodoftimeuptothescheduled
replacementtimeforthatpart.Partsreplacedunderthiswarrantyare
coveredforthedurationoftheoriginalproductwarrantyandbecomethe
propertyofT oro.Torowillmakethenaldecisionwhethertorepairany
existingpartorassemblyorreplaceit.Toromayuseremanufacturedparts
forwarrantyrepairs.
MaintenanceisatOwner’sExpense
Enginetune-up,lubrication,cleaningandpolishing,replacementoflters,
coolant,andcompletingrecommendedmaintenancearesomeofthe
normalservicesToroproductsrequirethatareattheowner’sexpense.
GeneralConditions
RepairbyanAuthorizedToroUndergroundDealerisyoursoleremedy
underthiswarranty.
NeitherTheToroCompanynorToroWarrantyCompanyisliablefor
indirect,incidentalorconsequentialdamagesinconnectionwiththe
useoftheToroProductscoveredbythiswarranty,includingany
costorexpenseofprovidingsubstituteequipmentorserviceduring
reasonableperiodsofmalfunctionornon-usependingcompletion
ofrepairsunderthiswarranty.ExceptfortheEmissionswarranty
referencedbelow,ifapplicable,thereisnootherexpresswarranty.All
impliedwarrantiesofmerchantabilityandtnessforusearelimitedto
thedurationofthisexpresswarranty.
Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsofincidentalorconsequential
damages,orlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabove
exclusionsandlimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.Thiswarrantygivesyou
speciclegalrights,andyoumayalsohaveotherrightswhichvaryfrom
statetostate.

aseparatewarrantymeetingrequirementsestablishedbytheU.S.

EmissionsControlSystemWarranty.RefertotheEngineEmissionControl
WarrantyStatementsuppliedwithyourproductorcontainedintheengine
manufacturer’sdocumentationfordetails.
