About This Document
This document is intended for Operators of TouchTunes Virtuo SmartJukes running Karaoke events,
TouchTunes Field Service, Customer Support, and Sales personnel.
It provides information about the TouchTunes Wireless Microphone Receiver and Wireless Karaoke
Microphones, provided as kits, with the TouchTunes parts numbers as follows:
Included in this Kit
Verify that your kit includes all of the following items:
Microphone Frequency Pairs
In order to reduce the possibility of interference with other locations (or a
second Karaoke installation within a single location), TouchTunes Karaoke
has three distinct frequency pairings of microphones and wireless
microphone receivers.
Each wireless receiver is pre-
configured to operate with two
microphones of a set frequency. The
microphones within a pairing are color
coded with a ring around the center.
To make sure you received the correct
microphones, look on the back of the
wireless receiver for two colored
stickers that will show you the colors of the two microphones that it is set to
work with. The wireless receiver and the wireless microphones’ frequencies
are set at the factory, and cannot be changed, so as long as the stickers on
the receiver match the microphones, then they are set to function together.

* The black ring might be hard to
see, due to the microphone being
black, so if you do not see a
colored ring, you may safely
assume that your microphone has
a black ring.

Installing the Batteries
To install the batteries into each microphone, simply unscrew the bottom
of the microphone, and insert a 9V battery into the opening, being careful
to line up the poles of the battery appropriately, and then pushing it in
until it snaps into place. Then, screw the bottom of the microphone back
on. TouchTunes recommends using Energizer®batteries with these
microphones.
Using the Wireless Microphones
Before they can be used, each microphone must be turned on, using the
single switch along the side of the microphone. If the battery was installed
properly and still has enough power left, the red light near the switch will
flash once.
Installing the Wireless Microphone Receiver
Before proceeding, turn off the main power to Virtuo using the rocker
switch on the power bar:
1. Consider the following caveats, then determine where you will be
placing the wireless microphone receiver.
• The receiver should be placed in a location where patrons will not
be able to access it.
• The Karaoke kit contains a 15-foot cat-5 Ethernet cable for
connecting the Wireless Microphone Receiver to Virtuo.
• The wireless microphone receiver does not require an additional
power source, as power is supplied over the ethernet cable.
• There should be no obstructions between the wireless
microphone receiver and where the performers will be positioned
when singing.
• Although unlikely, the location may need to adjust the gain on the
wireless microphone receiver.
2. After you select a location for the receiver, connect it to the Virtuo
using the 15-foot Cat-5 Ethernet cable (included with your original TouchTunes Karaoke Kit.) The cable connects to
Virtuo’s I/O board in the port labeled Mic 1.

3. The Cat-5 cable exits the Virtuo through its rear opening.
4. Once the wireless microphone receiver is installed and connected, using the knobs on the front of the receiver, set the
volume (gain) for both microphones all the way to 0.
5. Turn on the Virtuo and wait for it to finish booting up.
6. On the Karaoke Remote Control, press the ‘*’ button to switch the Virtuo to Karaoke mode, then select Yes when asked
if you want to switch to TouchTunes Karaoke.
7. Queue up 3 to 4 songs.
8. Turn on both microphones, and position them where the patrons will be singing.
9. When the music begins playing, raise the gain of the two microphones slowly on the wireless microphone receiver until
you start hearing feedback. This represents the maximum gain you should apply to both channels.
