Button Definition:
There are three buttons ( M , + , - ) on the KD58C display that represent the following functions:
MODE, UP and DOWN.
Assembly
All Tower electric bicycles arrive with the controllers pre-mounted and installed. In the case that
the controller or display needs to be replaced, cut off the power before connecting or
disconnecting the controller.
Display Layout
General Operation
Turning the eBike On/Off:
● To turn on the eBike system, hold the MODE button for 2 s. Perform the same function
to turn the eBike system off.
● When the eBike system is turned off, the leakage current is less than 1 uA
● When parking the eBike for more than 10 minutes, the eBike system switches off
automatically.
Display Interface:
After turning on the eBike system, the display shows Running Speed. Press MODE to transition
through the available display interfaces:
● Running Speed (mi/h)
● Trip Distance (mi)

● Trip Time (hours)
● Average Speed (mi/h)
● Max Speed (mi/h)
Each interface will display for 2 seconds before automatically returning to the Running Speed
interface. On the condition that the speed is 0 km/h, Total Distance (ODO) will be added to the
circulation of available interfaces.
Using Push Assist Mode:
To access the push-assist mode, hold the DOWN button for 2s. The eBike will then move
forward at a uniform speed of 3.7mi/hr. The push-assistance funcion turns off as soon as the
DOWN button is released.
● Push-assistance function should only be used when pushing the eBike.
Switching the Lighting On/Off:
To switch on the eBike headlight, hold the UP button for 2s.
To switch off the eBike headlight, perform the same function. (hold the UP button for 2s)
Pedal Assistance Level Selection
Assistance levels indicate the output power of the motor. The default value is level 1.
The default power range is from Level 0 to Level 5. There is no output on Level 0, so the eBike
will ride like a normal bicycle. Level 1 is the minimum power. Level 5 is the maximum power.
Refer to Figure 1 at the end of this manual for a detailed pedal assist level table.

Power Indicator:
The motor output power will be displayed on the display:

Error Code Identification:
If there are errors regarding the electronic control system, an error code will appear
automatically. A list of error codes and definitions can be found in Figure 2 at the end of this
manual.
General Settings
After the eBike system is powered on, to access the general settings menu, hold both the UP
and DOWN buttons for 2s. Press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired setting, press
the MODE button to enter the setting configuration page. When accessing the settings menu,
the controller will ask for a password. THE DEFAULT PASSWORD IS 1 2 3 4. This can be
entered by using the UP arrows to change each digit of the combination, followed by the MODE
button to move to the next digit of the combination.
Setting 1: Trip Distance Reset
Clear Trip is used to reset the trip distance. Press the UP or DOWN button to choose YES or
NO to clear the trip distance. The default value is NO. Press the MODE button to confirm the
selection, the display will then show OK and return to the general selection settings interface.
Setting 2: Unit Selection
The default unit for all Tower eBikes is “miles”. To change the units to “kilometers”, press UP or
DOWN until the desired setting is highlighted. Press MODE to store the selection and return to
the general selections interface.

Setting 3: Wheel Diameter Settings
The “Set WD” setting is pre-set to the correct value for this eBike (26”). This cannot be adjusted.
Setting 4: Speed Limit Settings
Select “Set LS” to change the speed limit settings. When running faster than the speed limit,
the eBike power system will switch off automatically. The speed limit range is 12km/h (7.5mph)
to 40km/h (25mph). The default value is 29km/h (18mph).
To change this setting, press UP or DOWN to increase or decrease until the desired
speed limit is displayed.
Press MODE for 2s to store the selection and return to the general selections interface.
Setting 5: Battery Power Bar Settings
Select “Set Voltage” to change the power battery display settings. For example, VOL 1 is the
voltage value at which the battery display will drop from two bars to one. Voltage thresholds for
each of the 5 battery bars must be entered one at a time.
To set the voltage level for the first battery bar display, press UP or DOWN
To store a changed setting and access the next bar’s threshold, press the MODE button.
After the voltage value is entered for the fifth bar, hold MODE for 2s to confirm and
return to the general settings interface.
See Figure 3 at the end of this manual for the default battery power bar settings.
Advanced Settings
The advanced settings are preset to recommended parameters, and shouldn’t need to be
changed. Advanced settings can be used to adjust pedal assist power settings, slow start
settings, backlight brightness and the start up password for the eBike.
To access the advanced settings, hold the UP and DOWN buttons for 2s to enter general
settings. Enter “1 2 3 4” when prompted for a password, then hold the UP and DOWN buttons
for 2 more seconds to enter the advanced settings interface. Press the UP or DOWN button to
transition through the available settings, then press the MODE button to adjust the selected
setting.

Advanced Setting 1: Power Set
The “Power Set” setting can be used to adjust the number of pedal assist levels. The
recommended setting is the default on all Tower eBikes (0-5). This setting features 6 levels,
with Level 0 being no pedal assist and Level 5 being the highest pedal assist ratio (96%).
To change the number of assistance levels, select “Power Set” and then press UP or
DOWN to select the pedal assist level range.
To store the changed setting and access the PAS ratio settings page, press MODE.
Press the UP or DOWN button to increase or decrease the pedal assist percentage for
each level. Note that this system supports up to 9 levels.
After the desired PAS ratio for each power level is inputed, press the MODE button to
confirm and return to the advanced settings interface.
Please see Figure 4 at the end of this manual for available pedal assist level ranges
Advanced Setting 2: Current Setting
The current setting is pre-set to the correct value for this eBike (20A). This cannot be adjusted.
Advanced Setting 3: Assistance Number
The current setting is pre-set to the correct value for this eBike (n-12). This cannot be adjusted.
Advanced Setting 4: Speed Sensor
The current setting is pre-set to the correct value for this eBike (n-01). This cannot be adjusted.
Advanced Setting 5: Slow Start Up
The “Slow Start” feature can be used to delay the pedal assist power. For example, a 3 sec
delay will result in the pedal assist system kicking in 3 seconds after the rider begins to pedal.
The default value is 0 and the delay can be increased up to 3 seconds.
To change the slow start up settings, press the UP or DOWN button to adjust the value.
Press the MODE button to save the selection and return to the advanced settings page.

Advanced Setting 6: Backlight Brightness
Select “Backlight Set” to adjust the brightness of the display. The range for this setting is 1-3,
with 3 being the brightest. The default value is 2.
To change the backlight brightness settings, press the UP or DOWN button to select the
desired value. Press the MODE button to save the selection and return to the advanced
settings page.
Advanced Setting 7: Start Up Password
The Start Up password is different than the password used to access the general settings
menu. When enabled, the start up password will be required each time the eBike is powered
on. Select “Password Set” to enable a start up password.
The default start up password is 1212
To change the start up password, select “enable” and press MODE to confirm the
selection.
Enter the new start up password (P3:XXXX), using the UP and DOWN buttons.
Press MODE to confirm the selection and return to the advanced settings menu.
Follow the same steps to disable the startup password. Note that the P2 password will
no longer be the default value of 1212.
Additional Settings Operations
● To exit the settings menu, hold the DOWN button for two seconds.
● If there are not any operations for one minute, the display will exit the settings menu
automatically.
Recover Default Settings
To reset the controller to default factory settings, press both the UP and MODE buttons for 2
seconds. This will open the dEF settings (Default Recovery). Press the UP or DOWN button to
select Y/N (yes/no). Hilight “Y”, then press the MODE button for two seconds to recover default
settings. Note that this action will also reset the startup password to the default (1212).
