What if Tapo Sync-to-Sound
doesn’t work on my Tapo Light
Strip
Make sure this Tapo device is powered on.
·Make sure the sound source is closer to your phone/tablet.
·Move your phone/tablet closer to this Tapo device.
·Turn off cellular data and try again.
·Turn off the VPN or apps based on the VPN mechanism.
·Make sure you have granted Microphone permission for the Tapo app and your phone/tablet’s
microphone is working well.
·Try changing the DNS server to 8.8.8.8 on your router. If you don’t know how to do this, please
contact your router’s customer support.
·If you have enabled AP isolation or Guest Network on your router, please disable it and try again.
How to Reset Tapo Light Strip
There are two types of reset available: a soft reset which resets the Wi-Fi settings only, and a
factory reset that erases all of your settings and restore to factory defaults.
Soft Reset
Press and hold the button on your controller for more than 5 seconds but no more than 10
seconds and release. The light strip animating orange and green after that indicates a successful
soft reset. Then you can reconfigure your light strip in Tapo app.
Factory Reset
Method 1: Via Control Button
Press and hold the button on the controller for 10 seconds or more and then release. The light
strip animating orange and green after that indicates a successful factory reset. Then you can
reconfigure your light strip in Tapo app.
