Don't use the paper scroll which end stick to the axle, or will cause paper end detecting failure or damage to the printer.

1. Unpacking
Checking and make sure no part3 are missing or damaged.

2. Appearance and explanation
UP-PN is a portable 8 dot matrix miniature printer.

3. Load and unload the batteries

The battery set into the bottom of the printer. See the below figure.
.
Loading: Insert the batteries to the battery case (make the
battery
electrodes aim at the case electrodes) then press the batteries towards the bottom to make it insert tightly in the case. See figure 3-1.

Unloading: Hold the printer by one hand and turn the release handle by another hand to unload the batteries. See figure 3-2.

4. Loading paper
UP-PN has the easy paper loading mechanism; the step of loading
paper is as follows:

Press the central section of the upper cover with the thumbs, turn the
outshoot then open the cover. see figure 4-1.

Pull the holder and insert the paper scroll. See figure 4-2.
.
See figure 4-3. before inserting the paper, make sure it is cut cleanly
then put it in the inlet. Turn on the power and push button LF to formfeed paper. Let the paper edge come out of the printer head about
20mm then release the button.
.
Lay down the upper cover and close it lightly. Let the paper edge come out of the paper outlet, i.e. loading paper has been
finished.

5. Replace the ribbon cassette
UP-PN printers have a ribbon cassette loaded at ex-factory but cassette needs to replace since it has been used for a period of time.
The replacing steps is described as follow:

Open the upper cover of the printer
.
Take out the old cassette
Push the button mark with "push" (refer to figure 5- I) and take out
the cassette
.
Insert a new cassette
a. Press the knob of the cassette and turn it at the direction shown by
the arrow till the ribbon is tight; b. Put the end mark with the "PUSH" to the corresponding position;
c Put the end which with the knob on the axle of the gear. Make sure the end fall to the axle completely, if not turn the knob to
adjust it.

d. Turn the knob again when find the ribbon on the outside of tl cassette.

It can realize battery slowly charging on printer with external adaptor. See the figure below

7. Self-test
We recommend you use the self-test to confirm the printer is
installed properly.
0 First, push the button LF then push the button ON. The printer will be
turn on. The power indicator is light, self-test begin and print out the
self-test list.
0
After self-test the printer will stop automatically.
8.0perations
0 Button ON: Power switch. Press button ON to power on.
0
Button LF: Formfeed. Push one time to feed paper one character line,
press the button to keep feeding paper.
0
Power indicator (green): The indicator is light when power on.
.
State indicator (red): Printer can receipt data and print when the indicator is off.
0
Charge indicator (red): The indicator is light when charge the
batteries.
According to the special functions and malfunctions, the indicators
will light or flash respectively.

When printer in this states, the red indicator light:
(I) The printer comes into discharge state (in power off state, press
button ON more than 10 seconds the printer come into discharge
state ).
(2) Power off (when printer in working or discharge state, press
button ON for more than 5 seconds then release, the printer
power
off).
.
In this state, the red indicator flash (high level indicate light):

9.Troubleshooting:
