USE ONLY unleaded petrol from fuel containers designed for
this purpose - refuel outdoors only and replace the tank cap

area of spillage and allow the petrol vapours to dissipate

WEAReyeandearprotectionandprotectivefootwear
Using the dipstick provided, check the engine oil level. Top up with
10w/40oilifnecessary(ifthedipstickisclearofoil).
Check fuel level. Only use unleaded petrol from a clean container.
Neverre-fuelwhentheengineishot or running. Leave1”airspacein
thefueltank.
Switchignitionto‘ON’position.
Iftheengineiscoldsetthechokeleverto‘ON’position.
Turnthefueltapto‘ON’position.
Pull the recoil start handle gently until it engages then give it a good
strongpulltostarttheengine.
When the engine has started, release the choke lever after a few
secondsandreturnthethrottlelevertoidleposition.

AligntheTurfCutteronthelawn.
Raisetheoperatingleverfully.
Gently push down on the lifting lever to lower the blade into the
ground.
Although the machine has assisted drive to the rear wheels, a gentle
continuous pushing of the machine is required for the machine to
advanceatamediumwalkingpace.
At the end of a row, keep the operating lever fully engaged and lift the
handlebars. This will allow the blade to cut out of the ground and the
handlebarswillautomaticallylockintotheraisedposition.
Release the operating lever for the engine to return to tick-over. The
cutturfmaynowberolledup.
Ifalargeareaistobecutitmaybepreferablenottolifttheturfuntilthe
secondorthirdpass has beenmade. Thisissothe wheels onthecut
side are rolling on the full width of the tread and not on only half the
width. Thiswillmaintainaneventhicknessofcutturf.
Should the machine encounter an immovable object in the ground,
release the operating lever at once and switch the engine off. Lift the
handlebars to the raised position and pull the machine back far
enoughfortheturftobecutwithaspadeandtheobjectremoved. Re-
starttheengineandcommenceworkasbefore.

DO NOT work on slopes of more than 20 . If you are working on a
o
slope of less than 20 always work across the slope. Use wheel
chocksonaslopeifthemachineisleftunattended.
DO NOT work the machine across long grass, mow the area first to
leavethegrassnomorethan1”high.
DO NOT work the machine on very hard, dry ground conditions. If
necessarymoistenthelawnwithasprinklerfirst.

manual.
Releasetheoperatinglever.
Switch the ignition to ‘OFF’ position.
Turn the fuel tap to ‘OFF’ position.
WARNING: THE EXHAUST COVER MAY BE HOT - DO NOT
TOUCH
After every hour of operation stop the engine and remove the spark
plugcap. Checkengineoillevel(recommendedoilSAE10w/40).
Donotturnthemachineonitssideforcleaning.
Replacethesparkplugcap.
Ensure that the blade is sharp as a blunt blade will result in poor
performance.
