CR Surround 2 is a high output passive
loudspeaker designed for high performance
surround channel and certain house music
applications. A new type of surround
speaker, it combines the best characteristics
of conventional monopole, bipole & dipole
surround designs. Its ultra high output
folded ribbon tweeter and proprietary Triad-
designed wave guide enhance its horizontal
& vertical dispersion, creating a broad,
smooth power response in a tailored hemi-
spherical polar pattern that fills rooms more
evenly than bipole & dipole surround de-
signs, without their characteristic frequency
response errors and volume variations.
Timbre matched with our CR LCR 2,
Surround 2 delivers smooth transitions,
3-dimensional surround soundstaging, and
total immersion.
Surround 2’s room filling full-range
sound also works beautifully in house
music rooms that require high quality
sound evenly & broadly distributed
throughout a room.
CR Surround 2 Applications for Home Theaters, Screening Rooms, and Gaming Rooms - CR Surround 2 is ideal for side & back
surround channels and height & width effects channels. As side and back surround channels, they should be positioned with the speaker bottom a
minimum of 2 feet (61cm) above ear level and no closer than 1 foot (30.5cm) from the speaker top to the ceiling (Except for Atmos rooms. Please call).
They direct energy down to the listeners for enhanced focus and up to the ceiling for enhanced envelopment.
Standard OnWall Brackets give CR Surround 2 speakers up to 10 degrees downward tilt and 12 degrees lateral swivel adjustment. Minimum (no tilt
or swivel) mounting depth is 9-1/2 inches (241mm). At max tilt and swivel, depth is 14-1/2 inches (368mm). When mounting behind acoustically
transparent fabric walls, add min ¼” (6.5mm) clearance. Surround 2 can be flown or hung using the provided I bolts.

A
1. Position & level speaker using Bracket Spine A.
Mark all 7 holes. Position speaker top at least12
inches (30.5cm) below ceiling & speaker bottom at
least 24 inches (61cm) above ear level (* except for
Atmos listener level surround speakers).
2. For safety, mount speaker to stud or plywood
backed drywall if possible. ALWAYS fasten ALL 7
marked hole locations to minimize vibrations. If
mounting on a wall backed by a single stud, use wall
anchors B in the remaining 4 holes. Drill pilot holes
for all anchors with 3/8”(9.5mm) drill bit.
3. Using ALL 7 #10 Oval Philips
screws (C), securely screw
Wall Bracket A onto wall.
4. Place 2 sets of 1/4-20 Allen screws, lock washers, & flat wash-
ers D on speaker top. With ladder man holding speaker, the
underneath man supports it from below & guides bottom
bracket onto Bracket Spine’s A lower hooks. The speaker is
now supported from below by its bracket on the spine.
5. Push speaker top toward wall, sliding top bracket
between the spine’s top 2 arms. Insert Allen screw
D with lock washer & flat washer through the slot in
the spine’s top arm; loosely hand tighten into
nut captured in the top bracket. Repeat on oppo
site side. Adjust downward tilt as needed. Swivel
speaker to expose bolts and tighten both sides with
supplied Allen wrench.
6. Swivel speaker to expose bolts and tighten 2
bottom bracket screws with Allen wrench.
7. Swivel & aim speaker horizon-
tally to a max of +/- 12 degrees
When angle is correct, tighten
bottom & top bracket hex bolts
with 9/16” (14mm) socket to fix
swivel angle.
8. With spades or bare wire (do not
use Bananas – they interfere
with the endcap), connect speak-
er wires to binding posts observ-
ing correct polarity.
9. Set bottom & top end caps in
place (neo magnets keep them
fixed). Press fit two grills if desired.
Speaker install is complete.
