Installation
1Connect a video source device to the HDMI Input Port on the
B162-001-POE transmitter using an HDMI cable.
2Connect a video display device to the HDMI Output Port on
the B162-100-POE receiver using an HDMI cable.
3Set up the units as follows:
Point-to-point setup:
3a
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the LAN Port
on the transmitter and the other end of the cable to the
receiver’s LAN Port.
3b
Plug the power adapters into the Power Jacks on the
transmitter and receiver, and into an AC wall outlet,
Tripp Lite Surge Protector, PDU or UPS.
Multipoint-to-multipoint setup:
3a
Install the transmitter and receiver to the same local
area network by connecting the LAN Ports to an Ethernet
switch using Ethernet cables.
3b
The unit can be powered on through an Ethernet cable
if connected to a PoE-supported Ethernet switch.
Alternatively, plug the power adapters into the Power
Jacks on the transmitter and receiver, and into an AC wall
outlet, Tripp Lite Surge Protector, PDU or UPS.
Note: When power is supplied from both the power adapter and
the Ethernet cable (PoE), the supply from the power adapter will
be prioritized.

4(Optional) To bypass RS-232 signals, connect your computer
or control system to the RS-232 Serial Ports on the units.
Notes:
• You can connect RS-232 serial devices/peripherals, such as
touchscreens and barcode scanners.
• To save bandwidth and optimize video performance, the USB
and RS-232 ports are disabled by default.
5(Optional) To bypass IR signals, connect the IR Receiver to
the Bidirectional IR on the transmitter or receiver (depending
on where you want to operate the remote control) and the IR
Transmitter to the units.
6(Optional) To use a keyboard and mouse, connect your USB
peripherals to the receiver’s USB Type-A Ports and your PC to
the transmitter’s USB Type-B Port.
7(Optional) Connect your audio devices to the Audio Input Port
on the transmitter and the Audio Output Port on the receiver.

The extender operates over an IP LAN. Installing the units on a
network allows point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and multipoint-
to-multipoint setups by connecting multiple transmitter/receiver
B162-XXX-POE devices on the same local area network. The
extender can be used as a video matrix when connected to
the LAN via an Ethernet switch, enabling you to add multiple
transmitters and receivers to the setup.
Note: Make sure to use an Ethernet switch that supports IGMP. For more
information, refer to the complete product Owner’s Manual, available at
tripplite.com/support/downloads. If further assistance is required, contact
tripplite.com/support.

1. Assign an ID to all units.
AUse the Prev (+) / Next (-) Buttons to assign an ID to all
transmitter units.
BUse the Prev (+) / Next (-) Buttons to assign an ID to all
receiver units.
Press the Tx / Rx Switch Button to switch the control to Rx.
The Rx LED will illuminate.
2. Assign a source to each of the transmitter units.
APress the Tx / Rx Switch Button to switch the control to
Tx. The Tx LED will illuminate.
BUse the Prev (+) / Next (-) Buttons to assign an input to
the units.
3. For remote management, the extender can be configured
and managed using the web GUI (DVOE Manager) or the CLI
Commands.
Web GUI (DVOE Manager) Login Procedure:
1. Download the IP Installer Utility from tripplite.com/support.
2. Use the utility to look up the IP address of your unit.
3. Open a web browser (such as Chrome) and enter one of the
IP addresses you obtained using the IP Installer Utility.
4. Select Administrator or User and type password in the
Password field.

1-Year Limited Warranty
TRIPP LITE warrants its products to be free from defects in materials
and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of initial
purchase. TRIPP LITE’s obligation under this warranty is limited to
repairing or replacing (at its sole option) any such defective products. To
obtain service under this warranty, you must obtain a Returned Material
Authorization (RMA) number from TRIPP LITE or an authorized TRIPP LITE
service center. Products must be returned to TRIPP LITE or an authorized
TRIPP LITE service center with transportation charges prepaid and must
be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered
and proof of date and place of purchase. This warranty does not apply
to equipment which has been damaged by accident, negligence or
misapplication or has been altered or modified in any way.
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, TRIPP LITE MAKES NO WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Some states do not permit
limitation or exclusion of implied warranties; therefore, the aforesaid
limitation(s) or exclusion(s) may not apply to the purchaser.
EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IN NO EVENT WILL TRIPP LITE BE LIABLE
FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT, EVEN IF
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. Specifically, TRIPP
LITE is not liable for any costs, such as lost profits or revenue, loss of
equipment, loss of use of equipment, loss of software, loss of data, costs
of substitutes, claims by third parties, or otherwise.
