1 General information
1.1 Information about this manual
Please read this manual completely and carefully
before starting up the device.
Keep it near the product for future reference.
This operating manual describes the safe and proper
handling of the device. The specified safety notes and
instructions and the general safety regulations must
be observed.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in
serious injury or product damage.
Please read the operating instructions, especially the
„Safety“ chapter and the respective safety instructions,
completely and carefully before using the device.
You must understand everything you read herein.

be kept accessible at all times. Be sure to include
this manual when handing over the product to third
parties.

3 Safety
This chapter provides an overview of all the
important safety aspects required for the safe
and defect-free operation of the Trodat dryteq
system. The system consists of:
• Trodat dryteq UV exposure device
• Complementary products
(Trodat stamp, Trodat dryteq ink cartridge).
These are not included.
Other chapters in this manual contain specific safety
instructions to prevent and avoid dangers.
3.1 Proper use
This device is exclusively for curing Trodat dryteq
stamp ink. Only use the dryteq set indoors.
The device is not waterproof.
3.2 Improper use
Do not make any changes to the devices and
accessories. In the case of repairs carried out
inde-pendently, improper connection or improper
use, the manufacturer assumes no liability for
resulting damages. Liability and warranty claims
are excluded in this case.

if the curing unit is handled improperly
• Never look directly at the LED light.
• Never shine it into the eyes of other
persons or living beings.
• Avoid touching the 4 UV LEDs in the
reflector on the installation surface.

battery fluid
• Never open the battery.
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and
mucous membranes.
• Upon contact, rinse the affected areas
immediately with plenty of water and
seek immediate medical attention.
Risk of explosion
Improper handling of the battery may
cause an explosion
• Never use the device in areas where
there is a risk of fire or explosion.
• Never disassemble the UV exposure
device and the battery.
• Never short-circuit the battery.
• Keep the device away from fire.
Fire hazard
A burning device can release harmful
emissions. Parts of the device become
warm during use. Therefore, improper
handling of the device may cause a fire.
• Do not use the device on flammable
materials.
• Never cover the device or its accessories
with objects.
• Never expose the device to high
temperatures or extreme weather
conditions.
• Keep the device away from hot surfaces.

• Extinguish a fire with a powder
extinguisher, sand or dirt and call
the fire department.
Electricity warning
Possible electric shock due to improper
use, faulty electronic components or
excessive voltage.
• Turn off the device when not in use.
• Connect the imaging unit to an easily
accessible power source.
• Keep the devices away from water or
other liquids.
• Never touch an electrical appliance if it
has fallen into water.
• Always pull plugs out of the charging
socket by the plug handles.
• Never use the cable as a carrying handle.
• If the device is not used for more than
three months, fully charge the battery
before storage.
Caution
Injuries to the skin due to mechanical
damage to the plastic parts
• Only use the device and its accessories
if they are in perfect condition.
• Do not open the device or make any
changes to the device.
• Protect the device from strong shocks.
3.3.3 Trodat stamps in general
Caution
Skin injuries and pinching of the fingers
• Do not disassemble the stamp and do not
make any changes.
• Protect the device from strong shocks.
• Never expose the device to high
temperatures or extreme weather
conditions.

3.3.4 Trodat dryteq ink cartridges in general
Prevent contamination
Remove the cartridge cover from the ink
cartridge only when inserting it directly
into the dryteq stamp. Watch for any ink
residue on the underside of the cartridge
cover and the upper edges.
Prevent damage
Use only original Trodat dryteq ink
cartridges for the dryteq stamp.
• Only cure the ink with a dryteq
UV curing unit.
• Never refill Trodat dryteq ink cartridges
with other stamp inks.
• Never mix different colours of dryteq inks.
Caution
Skin and eye irritation caused by improper
handling of Trodat stamps, Trodat dryteq
ink cartridges and dryteq ink.
• Never touch the ink cartridge surface.
The ink can cause skin irritation and
allergic reactions.
• Never touch uncured dryteq ink under
any circumstances.
• Never use the Trodat dryteq stamp on
people, animals, food or alcohol and
tobacco products.

5 Initial start up
5.1 Check the device and delivered accessories
1. Take the device and the accessories out of the
packaging.
2. Check whether the delivery is complete.
3. Check whether the device or its accessories are
damaged. If there is any damage, do not use the
device. Contact the manufacturer using the
indicated service address.
5.2 Prior to start up
Note
Fully charge the dryteq UV exposure
unit‘s battery.
Use the cable with the USB-C interface. Charge
the dryteq UV lamp with a USB charger (charging
current at least 500 mA) or PC (USB 2 or
USB 3 interface).

5.2.1 Charge the battery
1. Always keep the device
turned off while charging.
2. Unroll the accessory
cable completely.
3. Insert the USB plug with
the C interface in-to the
USB-C socket of the
UV exposure unit and the
USB plug into the charger.
During charging, the
status indicator glows red.
The battery is fully charged
(takes 4 hours) when the
status indicator glows green.

Note
Always disconnect the device from the
power supply when it is fully charged.
5.2.2 Insert the dryteq ink cartridge
Caution
Ink can cause an allergic skin irritation.
Wear disposable gloves made of nitrile
rubber.
1. Remove the bag and tear it open using the
tear-off tab.
2. Unzip the zipper and remove the ink cartridge.
3. Make sure to close the bag.
4. Gently hold the cartridge at the uncovered ends
with two fingers.
5. Slowly pull the cartridge cover off in one direction.
Note
Avoid touching the ink.

Note
Store unused ink cartridges in the closed
bag, in a cool, dry place. Avoid open storage.

6 Operating instructions
The dryteq UV exposure device has two exposure
modes:
• 2 sec mode for stamp impressions
20x20 mm bis 20x60 mm is preset.
• 0.5 sec mode for stamp impressions
up to 20x20 mm can be activated.
6.1 Cure stamp impressions
6.1.1 Impressions of 20x20 mm to 20x60 mm
Note
The surfaces to be stamped must be clean,
dry, dust-free and free of grease.
1. Stamp an impression in the desired place.
2. Turn on the UV exposure unit with the on/off
switch (ready for use after 10 seconds).
The 2-second mode is active. The maximum
exposure time is 2 seconds.
Battery status light glows:
• Green with a full battery charge (100%)
• Yellow with a half battery charge (50%)
• Red with a low battery charge (10%)
• When the battery is dead (0%), the battery status
will flash red. You must charge the device.
3. Position the UV exposure unit flush with the
fresh impression.
The narrow height of the stamp impression
must be covered.
4. Keep the push button pressed and move the
exposure unit sideways over the impression
for 2 seconds.

During the exposure time, the status indicator light
glows blue. After this, the cooling phase is set for
10 seconds (yellow flashing light).
When switched off, the device remains in factory
mode.
6.1.2 Impressions up to 20 x 20 mm
1. In order to activate the 0,5 second mode, keep
the push button pressed when you are switching
the exposure unit on.
2. Place the exposure unit flush over the fresh
impression.
3. Briefly press the push button.
A fully covered impression cures after a 0.5 second
exposure time.
The device remains in 0,5 second mode after swit-
ching off and on again. To switch to the 2-second
factory mode, press and hold the push button while
switching on.
6.3 Limits of use
• The light sources (LEDs) cannot be replaced.
• In case of defective light sources, replace the
entire dryteq UV exposure device.
• The permissible operating temperature
is 0°C to 45°C.

7 Cleaning
Clean the Trodat dryteq stamp with a damp cloth.
Changing ink
Clean the text plate before inserting a new ink
cartridge with a different colour. This can be done by:
• Stamping with no ink cartridge inserted
several times.
• Alternatively use a piece of adhesive tape to
remove ink residues by repeatedly sticking the
tape onto the stamp and then tearing it off

9 Disposal
Do not dispose of the UV exposure unit
as household waste!
Dispose of the unit at an official
recycling centre.
Do not dispose of batteries and chargers
as household waste!
Do not dispose of stamps and ink
cartridges as household waste!
Dispose of unused stamps and ink
cartridges that contain organic solvents
or other hazardous substances as waste
ink and varnish. AVV no. 080111 or 080312,
observe the local and national instructions
for disposal.
