Intended Use
• This product is intended for indoor use in normal ambient temperature and humidity conditions —
it must not be exposed to prolonged outside weather conditions.
• This product is intended to be assembled only as described in these instructions.
Warranty
This product is guaranteed free of defects in materials and workmanship as follows from the date of shipment.
Five-year warranty on steel base and post, one-year warranty on polycarbonate shield. A full warranty statement
is available upon request.

The following tools are included to assemble the Multi-Use Shield
• Multi-Use Shield wrench
• 3/32" allen wrench
• 5/32" allen wrench
Only use hand tools for assembly.
Power tools could damage the
components.

Assembly
1. Slide the bushing insert (10) into the base assembly (11).
If necessary, tap the bushing insert with a plastic or wood mallet
to ensure it is seated tightly in the base assembly.
2. Push the slider assembly (9) into the base assembly.
The base assembly may be tapped with a plastic or wood mallet
untilthesliderassemblyisushwiththebottomofthebase
assembly.
3. Attach the base assembly to the slider assembly using a
1/4-20 x 1.25" Socket Screw.
Tighten the socket screw using a 5/32" allen wrench until the
slider assembly no longer rotates inside of the base assembly.
DO NOT ALLOW THE INNER TUBE
TO STRIKE THE GROUND
Only use hand tools for assembly.
Power tools could damage the components.
!CAUTION
Do not allow the inner tube to strike the
ground. Do not force the slider assembly
into the base assembly.
Damage to the components could occur.

4. Extend the inner tube of the slider assembly
3" to 4" (76 to 102 mm) to ease installation
of the pivot hub.
Insert an allen wrench through the holes at
the end of the inner tube and use as a handle
to extend the tube. A pair of pliers may also
be used to grasp the wall of the inner tube to
aid in extending it.
5. Place the pivot hub (6) onto the inner tube and
ttherearofthebracket(2)ontothepivothub.
Note the orientation of the Wenger logo on
the front face of the bracket.
Align all sets of holes.
6. Slide the 1/4-20 x 2" elevator bolt (5) through the aligned holes.
Be sure that the square shoulder of the elevator bolt slips
into the square hole of the bracket ange or it will not
tighten properly.
Attach with the 1/4" ID x 1" OD washer (7) and
1/4-20" lock nut (3) using multi-shield wrench
to adjust the desk pivot tension, as necessary.
7. Clean the slider assembly.
a. Fully extend the slider assembly.
b. The inner surface of the outer tube is lubricated
with grease to extend the life and prevent corrosion.
Wipeoanyexcessgreasefromtheinnertube
as needed.
Thisshouldonlybenecessarythersttime
the slider is fully extended.
c. Retract the slider assembly.
Be sure not to distort the shape of the inner
tube with a pliers.
Damage to the components could occur.

8. Peelawaytheprotectivelmfrombothsides
of the clear shield (1).
9. Attach the clear shield.
a. Place the clear shield (1) onto the front face
(Wenger logo side) of the bracket aligning
the holes as shown.
b. Attach the top center hole of the shield to
the bracket using a #8-32 lock nut (3) and
#8-32 x 1/2" capscrew (4).
This will help hold the shield in place while
attaching the remaining holes.
c. Continue attaching the remaining holes using
the same fasteners.

Operation
Use the shield with care.
1. The slider assembly can move up and down to adjust the overall height.
2. The shield can rotate 360° around the slider assembly to adjust the direction.
Note: The tension for the shield angle can be tightened by adjusting the nut on the elevator bolt.
3. The shield can pivot 180° up and down to adjust the shield height.
The shield is designed to be used only in
the straight-up or straight-down positions.
Other angles can present a tipping hazard.

Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
1. Clean metal surfaces with a mild, non-abrasive soap with warm water and a clean, soft cotton cloth.
Never use an abrasive or harsh cleaning agent or a chemical cleaning agent.
2. For proper cleaning and care of your polycarbonate, a mild solution of water and dish detergent applied
with a soft cloth is recommended.
a. Therststeptocleaningyourpolycarbonateistoremovethedustanddirtfromit.Youcaneither
blowthedebrisothepolycarbonateorusewaterandasoftclothtoremovethedebris.
b. After you have removed the debris from your polycarbonate you should clean it with a mild solution
of warm water and dish detergent.
Never use a cleaner containing ammonia.
Maintenance
1. Periodically check fasteners to ensure that they have not loosened during use.
2. Never apply oil or any lubricant to the slider assembly.
