INSTRUCTIONS

The TROJAN CADMASTER PACK omprises of a Graphi s
program plus a Light Pen and this instru tion booklet. The
pa k is intended for use by mi ro users of all ages and any
level of expertise. It an be used to produ e any type of
pi ture from a full olour art display to a bla k and white
te hni al drawing. The ‘Pin Point’ fun tion in the program
allows pixel a ura y and the various line thi knesses an be
used to dramati effe t. Please experiment with all the
fun tions whi h when ombined with all 16 olours and the
three pens give more hoi es than we mention in this booklet.
Please adjust CONTRAST and BRIGHTNESS on the s reen for
best results.
A FEW HINTS ...
Keep the tip of your light pen lean. When using the pen,
always point it dire tly at and square to the s reen, holding it
as you would a normal pen or pen il. Do not apply undue
pressure on the tip of the pen — a light tou h is all that is
required.
LOADING THE SOFTWARE
The software supplied in this pa k is on assette tape but an
be a quired on disk by filling in the oupon at the end of this
booklet and sending it with your remittan e to the address
given.
1. Insert the assette into the re order.
2. Press SHIFT/RUN STOP key.
3. Press PLAY on re order.
The program will now Load and Auto run.
Loading time is approx. 2.5 minutes.
WHEN THE PROGRAM IS LOADED
1. Plug the Light Pen into the No.1 Port whi h is on the right
hand side of your mi ro.
2. Carry out the alibrating pro edure as shown on the
s reen.
3. The MAIN MENU will now appear on the s reen.
THE MAIN MENU
To sele t an option from the menu you must point the tip of the
pen at the entre of the box to the right of the required option.
LINE TYPES
The first olumn down the left hand side of the menu s reen
are all “LINE TYPE” options. When you have sele ted the
type of line that you require the des ription on the menu will

hange to reverse print and remain that way until you hoose
any other LINE TYPE option. The LINE TYPE whi h you sele t
will be used with any of the following options that you may
sele t—BOX,CIRCLE,LINE,BANDING,RAYS and DRAW.
1. THIN. This option will produ e a uniformly thin line.
2. QUIL 1,2&3. These options produ e a thi ker line in the
“X” dire tion than in the “Y” dire tion thus giving a
“Copperplate” effe t. Quil 1,2&3 are graded to give a
progressively thi ker line.
3. THICK. This option will draw a uniformly thi k line.
4. XDOT. This option produ es a dotted line in the “X”
dire tion and an be used to produ e verti al lines in the
DRAW option.
5. YDOT. This option produ es a dotted line in the “Y”
dire tion and an be used to produ e horizontal lines in
the DRAW option.
6. DOTLI. This option produ es a dotted line in the DRAW
option or in any of the GEOMETRIC options.
GEOMETRIC OPTIONS
The GEOMETRIC options an all be drawn in any of the LINE
TYPES so be sure to sele t the type whi h you require before
hoosing a GEOMETRIC option.
BOX
1. Sele t BOX option.
2. Use the pen to move the 1st. ursor to the point on the
s reen where you require one orner of the box to be
positioned.
3. Press the CTRL key to set the 1st. ursor.
4. You may now “Pin Point” the 1st. ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When ursor has been “Pin Pointed” press CTRL to
lo k 1st. ursor in position.
5. Now position 2nd. ursor where you require the opposing
orner of the BOX to be positioned.
6. Press the CTRL key to set the 2nd. ursor.
7. You may now “Pin Point” the 2nd. ursor by using the
CRSR keys. The BOX will appear on s reen in Dynami
banding and will be repositioned by moving the
2nd. ursor.
8. When orre t position is a quired press CTRL to lo k
2nd. ursor and BOX in position.
You may now repeat this option as required.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.

BANDING
1. Sele t BAND option.
2. Use the pen to move the ursor to the required starting
point.
3. Press CTRL key to set 1st. ursor.
4. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using the CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL to lo k
1st. ursor in position.
5. Move 2nd. ursor to required position.
6. Press CTRL key to set 2nd. ursor. Dynami banding line
will now appear on s reen.
7. You may now PIN POINT 2nd. ursor by using the CRSR
keys.
8. Press CTRL key to lo k 2nd. ursor and first line in
banding operation will be drawn on the s reen.
9. Move the ursor to the third position and follow
instru tions 6 to 8 above.
You may arry out the above operation as often as required.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
RAYS
1. Sele t RAYS option.
2. Use the pen to move the ursor to the required entre
position of the RAY.
3. Press CTRL key to set the entre ursor.
4. You may now PIN POINT entre ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to
lo k entre ursor.
5. Move 2nd. ursor to required position.
6. Press CTRL key to set 2nd. ursor.
7. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using CRSR keys.
Dynami banding of line will now appear on s reen.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor and to draw first line in RAY.
8. Follow instru tions 5, 6 & 7 as often as required to build
RAYS.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
LINE
1. Sele t LINE option.
2. Use the pen to move the 1st. ursor to the point on the
s reen where you wish to start line.
3. Press CTRL key to set 1st. ursor.

4. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k 1st.
ursor.
5. Move ursor to point on the s reen where you require
other end of line.
6. Press CTRL key to set ursor. Dynami banding of line will
now appear on the s reen.
7. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor and to draw LINE.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
TRIANGLE
1. Sele t TRIA option.
2. Use the pen to move the 1st. ursor to the point on the
s reen where you require one orner of the TRIANGLE to
be positioned.
3. Press CTRL key to set the 1st. ursor.
4. You may now PIN POINT the ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When the ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to
lo k the 1st. ursor.
5. Move the 2nd. ursor to the point where you require the
se ond orner to be positioned.
6. Press CTRL key to set 2nd. ursor. Dynami banding of
first line of the TRIANGLE will now appear on s reen.
7. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using the CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor in position.
8. Move the 3rd. ursor to final point of TRIANGLE.
9. Press CTRL key to set 3rd. ursor. Dynami banding of
TRIANGLE will now appear on s reen.
10. You may now PIN POINT 3rd. ursor by using CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor and to draw TRIANGLE.
You may now repeat option as often as required.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
CIRCLE
1. Sele t CIRC option.
2. Use pen to position 1st. ursor at the point on s reen
where you require entre of CIRCLE to be.
3. Press CTRL key to set 1st. ursor.
4. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using CRSR keys.

When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor in position.
5. Move 2nd. ursor to a point on the s reen where the
ir umferen e of the CIRCLE will dise t the ursor.
6. Press CTRL key to set 2nd. ursor. Dynami banding of
CIRCLE will now appear on the s reen.
7. You may now PIN POINT 2nd. ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to
lo k 2nd. ursor and to draw CIRCLE.
You may now repeat this option as often as required.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
FILL
1. Sele t FILL option.
2. Sele t FILL pattern from FILL menu whi h now appears on
the s reen.
3. Use pen to pla e ursor in the en losed area to be filled.
4. Press CTRL key to set ursor.
5. You may now PIN POINT the ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to
lo k ursor in position and to FILL area.
6. Area sele ted will firstly be filled in the urrent pen
olour. Border olours will flash while mi ro omputes
area. The area will then revert to the pattern or olour
sele ted.
7. To quit this option while filling is in operation you must
depress and hold down the SPACE bar until option aborts.
N.B. Area to be filled must be fully en losed by a solid line to
prevent pattern or olour from “leaking” to surrounding
areas. BRUSH option is not “leak proof”.
It is NOT possible to FILL over a pen olour by using the same
pen as that used to draw that olour originally. This also
applies to ba kground olour.
You may use this option as often as required if pattern is to be
repeated.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
TEXT
1. Sele t TEXT option.
2. Sele t TEXT size and type required from the TEXT menu
whi h now appears on the s reen.
3. Use CRSR keys to move flashing ursor to required

starting point.
4. Type required TEXT on keyboard. Use SPACE bar to
move ursor onto next line.
Press RETURN key to leave this option and to return to the
MAIN MENU.
FREEHAND DRAW
1. Sele t DRAW option.
2. Use pen to move ursor to starting point required for
drawing.
3. Press and hold CTRL down when drawing and move pen
smoothly over the s reen at a reasonable speed. Use the
CTRL key as you would lift pen or pen il from paper when
drawing normally.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
BRUSH
1. Sele t BRUSH option.
2. Use pen to move ursor to starting point required for
brushing.
3. Press and hold CTRL key down when brushing and move
pen smoothly over s reen at a reasonable speed. Use the
CTRL key as you would lift a brush from paper when
painting normally.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
COPY
1. Sele t COPY option.
2. Pla e 1st. ursor at bottom left hand orner of area to be
opied.
3. Press CTRL key to set ursor.
4. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using the CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
1st. ursor in position.
5. Move 2nd. ursor to top right hand orner of area to be
opied.
6. Press CTRL key to set 2nd. ursor. Dynami banding box
of area to be opied will now appear on s reen.
7. You may now PIN POINT 2nd. ursor by using the CRSR
keys. When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to
lo k 2nd. ursor.
8. Sele t size of COPY required from the COPY menu whi h
will now appear on s reen.

9. Move ursor to a point at the bottom left hand orner of
the area in whi h you wish opy to be drawn.
10. Press CTRL key to set ursor.
11. You may now PIN POINT ursor by using CRSR keys.
When ursor is PIN POINTED press CTRL key to lo k
ursor and to produ e COPY on s reen.
You may repeat this option as often as required.
Press Q key to leave this option and to return to the MAIN
MENU.
NOTE. If you wish to hange the olour of anything drawn on
s reen you may do so by using the COPY option with the pen
olour required.
WASH
Example of use:-
1. Draw a line using Pen 1 in GREEN.
2. Draw a line using Pen 2 in GREEN.
Draw these lines so that they interse t ea h other.
3. Change olour of Pen 2 to PINK.
4. Sele t WASH option on MAIN MENU.
5. Sele t WASH PEN on WASH menu whi h will now appear
on s reen.
6. Wat h as results appear on s reen.
NOTE. To wash a pen in ba kground olour I/E ERASE the
urrent pen — sele t ERASE PEN on WASH menu. No matter
how many olours have been used with urrent pen they will
all be hanged to urrent pen olour when WASH option is
used leaving other pens untou hed.
SAVE
1. Sele t SAVE option.
2. Sele t TAPE, DISK or RETURN from SAVE menu.
3. A file name must be entered at this point. Up to 8
hara ters may be used.
4. Follow instru tions on s reen. For full details of disk use
see the Commodore Disk Users Manual.
LOAD
1. Sele t LOAD option.
2. Sele t option from LOAD menu.
3. Enter file name.
4. Follow instru tions on s reen. For full details of disk use
see the Commodore Disk Users Manual.
To Load and Display a s reen without using CADMASTER:—
Load “S reen Name”, Devi e No.1 . To Display S reen
Type:— SYS22272(return).

CALIBRATE
1. Sele t CALI option.
2. Follow instru tions on s reen.
PRINT
1. Sele t PRINT option.
To print s reen to CBM 801-803-1000 printers, follow instru -
tions on s reen.
NEW
1. Sele t NEW option.
2. Sele t YES at bottom of s reen to lear urrent s reen.
ERASE
1. Sele t ERASE option.
This option erases last option drawn on s reen.
BORDER COLOUR
1. Sele t BORD.
This option hanges the border olour to urrent pen olour.
CURSOR COLOUR
1. Sele t CUCO.
This option hanges ursor olour to urrent pen olour.
PEN 1-2-3.
Example:
1. Sele t Pen 1.
2. Sele t olour Blue.
3. Sele t Pen 2.
4. Sele t olour Green.
5. Sele t Pen 3.
6. Sele t olour Red.
7. Draw line on s reen using DRAW option.
8. Sele t Pen 2.
9. Draw line on s reen using DRAW option.
10. Sele t Pen 3.
11. Draw line on s reen using DRAW option so that lines all
interse t at several points.
Note that where lines interse t the olours do not merge as
would have happened if only one Pen had been used.
BACKGROUND COLOUR
1. Sele t BACK.
2. Sele t olour.
Note:— The pen will only draw on a bright olour and will
NOT draw over bla k. You may draw on a bright olour and if
a dark ba kground was required simply hange the ba k-

ground to bla k or any other olour. The BACKGROUND
olour an also be used to draw shapes on top of other pen
olours or to erase.
COLOUR OPTIONS
The two olumns at the right hand side of the menu allow you
to sele t any of the 16 olours for the various options.
