Flame Guard
Assembly Instructions
Congratulations on the purchase of your Tropitone®Flame Guard.
Read through all steps before fastening components together.
WARNING: Do not try to lift or flip components with only
one person. Components may be heavy and awkward to
handle, and may result in injury to persons or damage to
property if not lifted properly. Safety Glasses must be worn
when drilling holes in frame components.
CAUTION: When instructed to fully tighten screws, do not
over tighten and strip the threads.
Read through all steps before starting
assembly.
Completely unpack all boxes and thoroughly
check for items that may be individually
wrapped.
Check that all items listed in the Parts List are
in your cartons.

Step 1 Flame Guard Frame Assembly
Assemble Flame Guard Frame Sections to Flame Guard Feet by
placing the 1
st
Frame Section on top of a Foot and securing with
(1) 10-24 x 3/4” Flat Head Phillips Screw using a #2 Phillips
Screwdriver.
Note: Do not fully tighten screws until the Frame is completely
assembled.
Assemble the 2
nd
Frame Section onto the same Foot, securing
with (1) 10-24 x 3/4” Flat Head Phillips Screw.
Assemble the 2
nd
Foot to the second Frame Section, securing with
(1) 10-24 x 3/4” Flat Head Phillips Screw.
Continue the assembly of 3
rd
and 4
th
Frame Sections to 3
rd
and 4
th
Feet to complete the Frame assembly.
Round Flame Guard Frame Assembly

Square Flame Guard Frame Assembly
Fully tighten (8) screws securing Flame Guard Frame to Flame
Guard Feet.
Step 2 Flame Guard Glass Assembly
Assemble Glass to Frame (1) Section at a time by placing (1) Filler
Strip into the Section with metal side facing inside of frame work
with assembly holes (cork side to outside of framework positioned
to make contact with glass).
Install Glass (Warning Label facing out) into the Section with the
Filler Strip installed, being sure that the Filler Strip is to the inside
of the frame. Install 1/4-20 x 1/4” Set Screws (2 for Round Flame
Guard and 3 for Square Flame Guard), with Screws making
contact to metal side of Filler Strip (cork side of Filler Strip making
contact to Glass), to secure the Glass to the Frame.
Center Glass on Frame Section and tighten Set Screws. DO NOT
over tighten the screws. Over tightening may cause the glass to
break.
Continue the assembly of Flame Guard Glass (4 for Square and
8 for Round) to Frame Sections to complete the Flame Guard.

Warning
Do Not touch the Flame Guard directly after use,
all surfaces will be HOT! Please allow your
Flame Guard to completely cool before
handling.
Do Not pick up the Flame Guard by the glass
pieces.
