SA E THESE INSTRUCTIONS
USING FOR FIRST TIME.
Before using he SLOW COOKER for he firs ime:
Remove all labels and ags from he produc .
Wash he ceramic po and ceramic lid in ho soapy wa er wi h a sponge or a dish
clo h, rinse horoughly and dry.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT IMMERSE THE SLOW COOKER BASE IN WATER.
Note: During initial use you may notice a slight odor due to the burning off of
manufacturing residues. This is completely normal and will disappear after using the
unit for some time.
HOW TO USE.
Place he base on a dry, level, hea resis an surface, away from he edge of he
work surface. Do no use on he floor.

Place food and o her ingredien s in o he ceramic po , and place he po in o he
base. Cover wi h he ceramic lid. If you need o pre-cook or brown foods prior o
slow cooking, his mus be done in a pan. Do no ry o brown or pre-cook food in
he slow cooker.

Swi ch off and unplug he heal h cooker af er cooking and remove he crock po
using oven gloves.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE BASE UNIT AFTER COOKING
AS IT REMAINS HOT.
About slow cooki g
Slow cooking has always been he bes way o prepare a nu ri ious ho meal wi h
minimum prepara ion and maximum free ime away from he ki chen.
Tradi ionally slow cooking has cen ered on soups and casseroles bu wi h his
ceramic po you can also produce mos modern family meals and dinner par y
dishes. This po is convenien as well as looking good enough o ake s raigh o
he able for serving. (Always place he ceramic po on a hea proof ma or
surface).
This me hod of cooking is ideal for preparing ougher cu s of mea , giving hem
he long, gen le simmering ha ensures ha hey become ender and full of
flavor.
Suitable foods for slow cooking & preparation:
Mos foods are sui ed o slow cooking me hods; however, here are a few guidelines
ha need o be followed.
Cu roo vege ables in o small, even pieces, as hey ake longer o cook han
mea . They should be gen ly sau éed for 2-3 minu es before slow cooking.
Ensure ha roo vege ables are always placed a he bo om of he po and all
ingredien s are immersed in he cooking liquid.
Trim all excess fa from mea before cooking, since he slow cooking me hod
does no allow fa o evapora e.
If adap ing an exis ing recipe from conven ional cooking, you may need o cu
down on he amoun of liquid used. Liquid will no evapora e from he slow cooker
o he same ex en as wi h conven ional cooking.
Never leave uncooked food a room empera ure in he slow cooker.
Do no use he slow cooker o rehea food.
Uncooked red beans mus be soaked and boiled for a leas 10 minu es o
remove oxins before use in a heal h cooker.
Au hen ic s oneware is fired a high empera ures; herefore, he ceramic po may
have minor surface blemishes and he ceramic lid may rock sligh ly due o hese

imperfec ions. Low hea cooking does no produce s eam so here will be li le
hea loss. Due o normal wear and ear hrough he produc s life, he ou er
surface may s ar appearing “crazed”.
Do no pu he ceramic po or ceramic lid in an oven, freezer, and microwave or
on a gas/elec rical hob.
Do no subjec he ceramic po o sudden changes in empera ure. Adding cold
wa er o a very ho po could cause i o crack.
Do no allow he po o s and in wa er for a long ime (You can leave wa er in he
po o soak).
There is an area on he base of he ceramic po ha has o remain unglazed for
manufac uring purposes. This unglazed area is porous and will soak up wa er
when immersed in i . This should be avoided.
Do no swi ch he cooker on when he ceramic po is emp y or ou of he base.
Tips for slow cooking
The slow cooker po mus be a leas half full for bes resul s.
Slow cooking re ains mois ure. If you wish o reduce mois ure in he cooker,
remove he lid af er cooking and urn he con rol o high (if se o low or WARM)
and simmer for 30 o 45 minu es.
The lid is no a sealed fi . Don’ remove unnecessarily as he buil -up hea will
escape. Each ime you remove he lid, allow an addi ional 10 minu es o he
cooking ime.
If cooking soups, leave a 5 cm space be ween he op of he cook po and he
food surface o allow simmering.
Many recipes demand all day cooking, if you do no have ime o prepare food
ha morning prepare i he nigh before and s ore he food in a covered con ainer
in he refrigera or. Transfer he food o he ceramic po and add liquid/gravy.
Selec he se ing low, high or WARM.
Mos mea and vege able recipes require 8-10 hours on low. 4-6 hours on high
and 5-7 hours on WARM.
Some ingredien s are no sui able for slow cooking. Pas a, seafood, milk, and
cream should be added owards he end of he cooking ime. Many hings can
affec how quickly a recipe will cook, wa er and fa con en , ini ial empera ure of
he food and he size of he food.
Food cu in o small pieces will cook more quickly. A degree of ‘ rial and error’ will
be required o fully op imize he po en ial of your slow cooker.
Roo vege ables usually ake longer o cook han mea , so ry and arrange
vege ables in he lower half of he po .
Af er food is cooked, swi ch cooker off and leave covered wi h he lid. There will
be enough hea in he ceramic po o keep warm for 30 minu es. If you require
longer o keep warm swi ch o he low se ing.

All food may be covered wi h a liquid, gravy or sauce. In a separa e pan or jug
prepare your liquid, gravy or sauce and comple ely cover he food in he ceramic
po .
Pre-browning mea and onions in a pan o seal in he juices also reduces he fa
con en before adding o he ceramic po . This improves he flavor bu is no
necessary if ime is limi ed.

is impor an . Try o keep he join in he lower 2/3 of he po and fully cover wi h
wa er. If necessary, cu in wo pieces. Join weigh should be kep wi hin he

CARE & CLEANING.
Always make sure he slow cooker is unplugged and in he OFF posi ion before
s oring away or cleaning. Make sure he uni has cooled down comple ely before
cleaning.
- The s oneware inser is dishwasher safe or can also be cleaned wi h warm
soapy wa er. To remove any foods ha have been cooked on o he bo om of
he po , simply soak overnigh in soapy wa er and rinse he nex day.
- The ex erior of he slow cooker can be wiped wi h a damp clo h and dried.
DO NOT use harsh abrasive cleaner or scouring pad o clean any par of he
slow cooker as his will damage he surface.
WARNING
1. NE ER SUBMERGE THE ENTIRE SLOW COOKER INTO WATER OR ANY
OTHER LIQUID, OTHERWISE IT MAY DAMAGE THE SLOW COOKER.
2. NE ER PUT THE CERAMIC LID AND CERAMIC POT INTO THE
DISHWASHER TO CLEAN, OTHERWISE BOTH OF THEM MAY CRACK
3. NE ER PUT THE CERAMIC LID IN THE REFRIGERATOR, OTHERWISE IT
MAY CRACK.
4. WHEN THE CERAMIC POT TAKEN OUT FROM REFRIGERATOR, PLEASE
DO NOT USE IT IMMEDIATELY UNTIL IT DRYING AFTER ABOUT 40MIN.,
OTHERWISE IT MAY CRACK.
