sound vibrates through the elastic band to

make music.

You will need:

• drinking straws

• scissors

• 2 lolly sticks

• 2 small elastic bands

• 1 larger, thicker elastic band

Alternatives to try:

• Move the straws closer together and make dierent sounds.

• Use bigger or smaller lolly sticks and a range of elastic bands.

1. Cut two lengths of drinking straw (approximately 2cm each).

2. Stretch the larger elastic band along one of the lolly sticks.

3. Place the straw pieces at each end of the lolly stick, underneath the

elastic band.

4. Place the second lolly stick on top of the straws and secure in place with

the smaller elastic bands; one at each end of the lolly stick.

5. Put the harmonica between your lips and blow air between the lolly sticks.
