SDC1 & SDC8 & Rayshow
User’s Manual
1. Function
SDC1 and SDC8 series SD card LED player are designed for driving LED spot light, strip, dot matrix or
hurdle LED lamps. It can play multiple programs on a SD card. There’s 1 output port on SDC1 and 8 output
ports on SDC8, each port can drive up to 2048 pixels at 30 fps

1. SYSTEM PORT:
1) 1. 5~24V: To power supply VCC
2) GND: To power supply GND
3)485A: Synchronization wire (connect to 485A on other SDC8 if need to cascade, and no need to connect
if no cascade)

4) 485B: Synchronization wire (connect to 485B on other SDC8 if need to cascade, and no need to connect
if no cascade)
2. OUTPUT PORT:
Connection for output 1 of SDC1 and Port 1~ Port 8 of SDC8 are the same, now we take Port 1 as an
example:
1) Double wire IC (such as LPD6803, D7722, P9813, ect):
a. CLK1: To LED clock;
b. DAT1: To LED Data;
c. GND: To LED Ground
2) Single wire IC (such as WS2811, TM1903, ect ):
a. CLK1: no need to connect
b. DAT1: To LED Data;
c. GND: To LED Ground
3. MODE key
Press Mode key to change the programs load in the SD card in loop.
4. SPEED+/SPEED-
Press SPEED+ key to speed up the program and press SPEED- to slow down the program.
5. INDICATORS: RUN/ALM
When the controllers work well, the indicator RUN would be light green. When there’s any problem on
the controller, the indicator ALM would be light red.
6. SD Card port
When the programs are loaded on the SD card, please put it into this port.
3. Rayshow Usage
The Rayshow software run on windows system, the principle function is to edit the effect program of
digital LED lights.
3.1 Open New Project
The interface of Rayshow shows like picture 3.1.1

Select the main menu: File (F) => New Project, show as Picture 3.1.2

The interface is as Picture 3.1.3 after open new project:

In interface of new project, select Controller Type (R800-SDC1 or R808-SDC8), select chip ( the chip
number would be used for the project), select Frame Rate ( 30 or less ), and select wire Sequence of
channel ( RGB or other wire sequence), then click Browse to save the project, and then click “OK” as
shown on Picture 3.1.4.

3.2 Layout
We can choose Auto Layout or Manual Layout to edit the layout.
3.2.1 Auto Layout
Single port layout: When the project is small, 1 port would be enough, the auto layout can be set up by
following step:
1) Select the main menu: Project Config (C) => Auto Layout (A), show as Picture 3.2.1.1:

2) Then it will come to Auto Layout interface as picture Picture 3.2.1.2

3) Fill the Horizontal Pixel and the Vertical Pixel, for example on above picture we fill 40 for
Horizontal Pixel and 2 for Vertical Pixel, and then choose Left-Top horizontal in for the
Pattern. Click “OK“ then it will come back to the main interface as Picture 3.2.1.3

We can see there are 40 Horizontal Pixel and 2 Vertical Pixels, and total 80 pixels in this project.
3.2.2 Manual Layout
1. Single port layout
1) Select the main menu: Project Config (C) =>Start Manual Layout, show as Picture 3.2.2.1.

2) Chose the light pattern (Light Horizontal or Light Vertical) as picture 3.2.2.3

3) The layout would be as shown on the Picture 3.2.2.4, the left is the Light Horizontal layout and the right
is Light Vertical layout.

4) Click the port option=>there would be a cursor=>click the place you want to put the port=> the port
added=>add wire to connect the port and the LED as shown in Picture 3.2.2.5.

5) For the layout, some time we need to make it in text, the operation is: Click Make Text=>Click Input
Text...(I)=>come to the Input Text window=>input the text you want=>Click OK=>The text will follow the
cursor=>click the place you want to put the text=>It will stay there=>click Quick wire=>come to the quick
wire option window=>choose the wire type ( such as “ H topleft ” ) =>choose the text=>the text be
wired=>click “Add wire “ and then connect the text to other LEDs or to the port. Please see the operation
in Picture 3.2.2.6.

2. Multiple port layout: When the project is big, we need multiple ports for the project. The set up
operation is similar as the single port layout. Please see the result Picture 3.2.2.7.

3.2.3 Check the wiring
Click Analysis Lines to check if all the LEDs are wired, and it will also show the port numbers and LED
quantity of each port. Please see Picture 3.2.3.1

3.2.4 Save Layout File
Please save the Layout file by following steps shown in Picture 3.2.4.1.

3.3 Effect Record and Edit
3.3.1 Import Layout file
After saving the Layout, we can close the Layout window and then import Layout file to go on the
program record. The step is: Click Import Layout File => Choose the Layout File name => Click Open =>
Import the Layout File successful. Please see the Picture 3.3.1.1.
