The protecLV spray gun cleaner is an advanced LOW VOC spray gun cleaner.
Designed to be used with protecEarth cleaning fluids. It is not recommended for
use with any other type of cleaning fluid.

1. Installation
The machine is suitable for and safe for installation in general workshop and industrial facilities.
It is also suitable for installation in hazardous zoned areas, Zones 1 and 2 and is fully compliant to
the ATEX Directive. Using the protecEarth cleaning fluids this machine does not require air extraction.
Find a suitable location for the operation of the machine. When choosing a location, you may wish to
refer to the machine dimensions on the back page of this manual.
After locating the machine, it will require an air pressure of 75-100 psi (5-6bar)
Ensure the dirt and water trap supplied is fitted to the outside of the machine before connecting
the air supply
After connecting the dirt and water trap connect the air supply to the machine
There is an earth bonding wire located on the back of the machine, ensure the machine is earthed
to ground to prevent static.
Installing the fluid container
The protecLV spray gun cleaner is designed for use with protecEarth cleaning solutions.
Any other cleaning solution used is not recommended, non recommended cleaning fluids will
affect your warranty and the cleaning performance of the machine.
Position the protecWash cleaning fluid on the small trolley found under the machine.
Insert the two suction hoses first into the drum, one being for manual wash
and the other for automatic.
Insert the drain hose, largest diameter convoluted hose.
Position the drum neatly under the machine and refit the base door.
The machine is now ready to use.
2. Operation
The protecLV spray gun cleaner has a timed automatic cleaning cycle, a manual flow thru cleaning
brush and an air blow gun.
Automatic timed cycle
For the most efficient clean and efficient use from your cleaning fluid, ensure the spray gun and paint pots
are emptied of the paint before using the machine to clean them. It is recommended a waste paint drum is
positioned at the side of the machine to easily empty the paint from the spray gun and or paint pot.
After emptying the paint pot remove the paint pot from the spray gun
Use the blow gun or manually drain the paint from the spray gun
Remove the air cap
It is recommended for the most efficient clean, quickly rinse the spray gun with the brush before putting
it in to the automatic chamber
Push the left hand easy locate cradle down (If cleaning one gravity fed spray gun)
Locate the spray gun on the left hand cleaning nozzle (If cleaning one gravity fed spray gun)
Turn the spray gun over the cradle
Release the cradle to lock the spray gun in position
Attach a trigger clip to your spray gun
Ensure the fluid tip of the spray gun is pointed at the brush at the back of the tank
Ensure the on / off valve is in the off position if only cleaning one spray gun (Vertical)
If cleaning two gravity fed spray guns the on / off valve must be open (Horizontal)
Push the green button to start the cycle
You can push the red button to stop the cycle, otherwise it stops automatically after 5 minutes
Manually clean the spray gun air cap whilst you wait
The easy locate cradle fits most gravity spray guns but if more adjustment is required do the following:

Cleaning Times
It is estimated that the following cleaning times are required, this will be dependent on the paint
manufacturer and also the period of time the spray gun has been spraying
Water based coatings 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds
Solvent based coatings 2 minutes to 3 minutes
Two pack primers, red primers and high viscosity primers up to 5 minutes
Some paints may require assistance with a manual clean before or after the automatic cycle.

3. Cleaning efficiency tips
The protecLV spray gun cleaner has been designed to be used with the protecEarth cleaning fluids,
such as protecWash LV / LV+. With the machines innovative inline filtration and fluid technology, it is
possible to obtain up to 600 washes from one 20 litre drum of the protecWash LV / LV+.
Follow these guidelines to get the most efficient use from your cleaning solution
Empty the spray gun and paint pot into a waste paint drum before cleaning.
Blow out the paint from the spray gun before cleaning into a suitable waste container.
Ensure the spray gun is correctly located on the wash nozzle before washing automatically.
DO NOT throw waste paint into the machine.
Change the paint trap filter every 1 – 3 months depending on contamination. DO NOT OPERATE
WITHOUT this filter as it traps paint from contaminating the cleaning solution.
Change the little blue filter inline filter every 6 months, depending on contamination, DO NOT
OPERATE WITHOUT this filter, this is designed to absorb waste paint particles as the machine
operates to supply cleaner fluid to the automatic wash area.
4. Machine Maintenance
EVERY MONTH
Add two drops of air tool oil into the air side of the two pumps inside the machine
Check the dirt and water trap and empty when necessary, DO NOT ALLOW THIS TO FILL AND BLOCK
EVERY 1 – 3 MONTHS
Change the paint trap filter depending on contamination, found under the work screen in the cleaning tank
EVERY 6 MONTHS
Change the little blue filter cartridge (inline filter) or sooner depending on contamination, find the little
blue filter in the base of the machine
Manual cleaning
AFTER WASHING, DRY THE SPRAY GUN THOROUGHLY, RINSING SHOULD NOT BE
NECESSARY. IF YOU WISH TO RINSE, PLACE A SMALL AMOUNT OF CLEAN SOLUTION IN
A PAINT CUP OR DISPOSAL CUP AND RINSE THROUGH THE SPRAY GUN AND OR USE
SUITABLE CLEAN WATER TO RINSE

Warranty Conditions
1 Subject to the other Warranty Conditions the Company
1.1 Warrants that upon delivery, and for a period of 24 months from the date of delivery of the spray gun cleaning
machine (‘the Machine’), the Machine shall:
(a) be of satisfactory quality within the meaning of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; and
(b) be reasonably fit for the purpose of cleaning spray guns;
1.2 Guarantees the pump forming part of the Machine against all mechanical defects arising from faulty workmanship
or materials for five years from the date of purchase.
2 Subject to the other Warranty Conditions if the Machine is used only in the United Kingdom and the Customer has on
purchase of the Machine entered into a 5 Year Service Agreement with the Company for the servicing of the Machine
then whilst that 5 Year Service Agreement remains in force the Company guarantees the Machine against
all mechanical defects arising from faulty workmanship or materials for five years from the date of purchase.
3 The guarantees in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2 do not extend to consumable components such as filters, jets and
flow-through brush as specified in the manual for the Machine. The Buyer acknowledges that in normal usage these
parts may from time to time require replacement.
4 The Company shall not be liable for a breach of any of the warranties in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2 if:
(a) the Buyer does not notify the defect to the Company and if so requested by the Company complete
and send to the Company the Company’s defect report form, and, if the defect is a result of damage in transit to the
Buyer, within 2 days of the time when the Buyer discovers or ought to have discovered the defect; or
(b) the Company is not given a reasonable opportunity after receiving the notice to examining the Machine at the Buyer’s
premises (if in the United Kingdom) or the Buyer (if asked to do so by the Company) fails to return the Machine to the
Company’s place of business at the Buyer’s cost for the examination to take place there, or
(c) the Buyer uses the Machine after giving notice of a defect; or
(d) the Buyer has failed to follow the Company’s oral or written instructions as to the storage, installation,
commissioning, use or maintenance of the Machine or (if
there are none) good trade practice; or
(e) the Buyer alters or repairs the Machine (other than by replacing consumable items such as filters, jets
and flow-through brush or such units as are intended to be replaced by the user as specified in the
manual) without the written consent of the Company, or
(f) any parts not supplied by the Company have been installed on the Machine, or
(g) the Buyer has not paid all sums due from the Buyer to the Company.
5 The Company shall not be liable for a breach of the warranty in Warranty Condition 2 if the Buyer has not fully
complied with the provisions of the 5 Year Service Agreement
6 Subject to Warranty Conditions 4 and 5 if the Machine does not conform with the warranties in Warranty Conditions
1 and (if applicable) 2 the Company shall either send a replacement unit to the Buyer (where the unit to be replaced
is intended to be replaced by the user as specified in the manual) or repair the Machine (or repair or replace the
defective part). Any parts so replaced shall become the property of the Company and where a replacement unit is sent
to the Buyer to be fitted by the Buyer the Buyer shall at its own expense return the unit so replaced to the Company.
The Company may issue an invoice for any replacement units sent to the Buyer, which will be cancelled
if the unit replaced is returned to the Company and found by the Company to be defective.
7 If the Company complies with Warranty Conditions 6 it shall have no further liability for a breach of any of the
warranties in Warranty Conditions 4 and 5 in respect of the Machine.
8 Any repaired or replacement parts for the Machine shall be guaranteed on these Warranty Conditions for the unexpired
portion of the relevant period specified in Warranty Conditions 1 and 2.
9 These Warranty Conditions are in addition to and do not replace any statutory rights that the Buyer may have under the
Sale of Goods Act 1979 or otherwise.

Warranty Conditions
